My name is Jess! I had a daughter (Lilia) at age 18 w/ my high school sweetheart. We mutually split up & co-parent to this day. After juggling life as a single mom of 4 for some time, I met Chris, he had 2 sons: Caden and Tommy, who eventually became my step sons. After Chris and I got married, we had our 7th child together, Addelyn. We’re one big, complicated, blended family & every second of our story is on CZcams, you can start from the beginning here: • 8 Weeks Pregnant!

*Not a mom* but I met my boyfriend's little brother when he was 6, he's going to be 12 this year and now we have full-blown conversations about everything from school bullies to money to jobs, it's wild to watch them grow up into whole people and gain their own thoughts and opinions about things! He's a great kid and I'm very proud of him, he's practically my little brother at this point 💜

We would of course ask to use it during our sleepovers, and sometimes our parents would let us use it on a random weeknight if we didn’t have school the next day. Haha. 😊

My mom has hers the first week of March and then mine is the week after and my sister’s is the last week. I only have two spring breaks before I graduate and I really hope one of them we all have the same week. My mom’s this year so happened to land on my spring break so we were very happy.

I am an adult and I still like sleeping on the floor in a nest like they do. I don't think I have a full-blown sensory processing disorder but I do think it's a sensory thing for me. Also, my back really likes the hard floor with just carpet underneath and I don't toss and turn all night like I do on a mattress. After $2-5K mattresses time and time again (I am chronically ill so I have tried the best of the best over the years in search of decent sleep - Purple, memory foam, normal, adjustable, temperature controlled etc.); I still get my best sleep on the floor. I finally took out my bed and put a portable sleep mat that folds in to a chair in there in case I ever change my mind. So tell them I get it. And when you're an adult you can do it whenever you want! Haha.

Only difference is private schools sometimes finish a week earlier. Doesn’t make sense to be in the same state especially and not have the same breaks. Can imagine how hard it would be being a blended family..

Start a schedule for some of the children to shower or take a bath at night and others to do it in the morning. We had 7 children ages 18-newborn (my parents had 8 children, but my brother Ricky, who was #3 passed away from Leukemia when he was 5.) the 7 children shared 1 bathroom. Our parents had a shower and only on rare occasions were we allowed to use their bathroom. On the main level off the foyer there was a powder room. Outside of the upstairs bathrooms there were a large vanity with a sink which is where we dried our hair and did makeup if we didn’t do it in our bedroom. Very rarely did we ever have a problem with having to wait for a bathroom. However my brother who is 3 years older than me had a tendency to fall asleep in the bathtub and he regularly used all of the hot water. To avoid any issues I got up earlier than my siblings and took my shower while they were still asleep.

Maryland has it in law that school can't start until after Labor Day. The state is split in half (everyone knows Baltimore and Annapolis, that sides near DC). The other side is on the beach, and it's busiest until Labor Day. When I was in highschool, for whatever reason, the state wanted to test starting school 2 weeks early. Not just students, but teachers too, were leaving school half way through the day because we had to get to work🤣🤣

The break reasoning is because some schools start sooner/end sooner (or later) than others. All of the “off days” have to match up so they throw the extra break in there. My kiddos (in southern utah) have a spring break and an Easter break + another random break in between thanksgiving and Xmas break. Where I grew up in NYS it was just the standard holiday breaks and summer break to spare for the expected snow days lol.

My youngest daughter has a bad back so sometimes when it's really bad she will sleep on a couch downstairs across from the bedroom and sometimes they share the couch because they don't want to sleep alone. They have 11 children between my 3 daughter's. It's so much fun when we all get together for holidays. They are growing up too quickly several are in their 20's out on their own 3 are seniors this year. One is in college and 3 are working full-time now. I remember my stepmum putting ‘laundry blue’ on my stepsisters lips, to stop her from licking her lips. (It becomes a habit). She was so embarrassed, having blue around her mouth, she never did it again. Probably not safe lol
before anyone freaks, it was 40 odd years ago lol

Cilantro? You might as well season with dish soap. 😂
(I have the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap plus I have strong taste as is, so even the smallest amount of fresh cilantro is a no for me)
