Guys, I UNDERSTOOD that Armenia took 4th PLACE in 2008, you don't have to tell me anymore!
I guess I should edit the timecodes...
@@mmashkaaa Armenia 2022 was fabulous!!!
@@peperudi agreed😊
Also 2014 4th

I was laughing so hard when it was finland‘s turn. The difference between the debut and the best result was just amazing😂
yes thats crazy. but german also crazy. look at the 2 wins. first ein bischen frieden and second setellite
Yeah it was before Finland became Finland
I laughed already when finland's turn started, because I know what was comming xD
As Kaarija once said "It's crazy It's Party"
the way germany went from 1st place with satellite to 25th place with "we used to be rockstars"
yes it was hard. but this year we have a chance with lord of the lost.
@@OmegamonUI I think so too, at least I hope we get some points this year..
@@OmegamonUI don't think so, the song is really awful. Rockstars was much better
We very well deserved the last place because it was such a boring song. radio-conform as they wished it to be. Electric Callboy wanted to go but they weren't radio conform enough.
@@OmegamonUI Well that didn't work huh xD
It's sad, I really thought we had a chance with them
There's some pure poetry about the fact that Russia's final entry for a very long time (potentially forever) is a tribute to Russian woman that the higher ups HATED.
That's true 😤
Also its a kind of tragicomedy, as this song is quite feminist, while our stupid government is pressing on patriarchal values : - )
And Manizha is considered a "foreign agent" now 🤪
I still love Sergey the most anyway.
Btw. I think Esc will last for like another 30-50 years at most before it's definitely canceled.
@@user-xk1rm5di2t well I hope Eurovision lasts as long as earth does. Is just human thing now. U know?
Moldova never placing higher than 3rd is criminal, they truly get the Eurovision experience
For real, they've had many iconic entries!
Sweden really just went:
Lemme show up on this list as 4th, 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 4th lol
Norway goes 4th, 1st, 1st, 1st, 10th

There is talk about Sweden and Ireland being powerhouses, but can we talk about Serbia as a standalone country WINNING ON ITS DEBUT
Powerful
No, technically Serbia participated before (as Serbia & Montenegro and Yugoslavia)
poland was close tho
Switzerland did the same, then casually sent Celine Dion later.
That's honestly really impressive - too bad the runner up is the one that became iconic and is still remembered and referenced to this day 😅
Norway always has won with a violin
👍🤣
sucks they dont have violins on the moon. or maybe its hard to play with paws?
@@therewasoldcringe no no, it’s the lack of gravity and friction. They shoulda tried drums or a kong 🤓
Can we just talk about how Lithuania had a song saying that they were the winners of Eurovision, yet they placed 6th that year? Hilarious
Well, they are still the best result of Lithuania in ESC. They are the winners in that xD
That's my no. 1 still to this day. Great idea, great trolling, before trolling was a thing. And a great jam.
Some countries get it, try hard and are consistently strong at Eurovision, like Serbia, Sweden and Ukraine for example. But I've even more respect for the ones who've never won, keep getting bad results yet keep participating. It's very disappointing when other countries like mine would instead throw temper tantrums and/or blame "financial difficulties" and won't participate. I would gladly see each and every country participate, even if some of the songs are crap by necessity.
It’s true!
My fav country at ESC is Romania. Tornero and Playing with Fire are my favorite of all time. I hope Romania wins soon. Even my country, Portugal, poorer than Romania atm, was able to held the contest. I also like Moldova very much, they were my winner this year!
@@athemoniatv7794 My favorite esc country is probably either Ukraine or Italy, but my all time favorite entry is Bosnia and Herzegovina's Bistra Voda, I hope they come back soon.

All of the oldest songs have great vocalists. It's interesting how it went from that to what it is today; where a good show can win, even if the song isn't the best.
I'll cry when Luxembourg returns. They had such strong winners back in the classic days (though Niamh is my favourite winner ever 🇮🇪). Please come back, Luxembourg 🇱🇺❤️
The problem is that they are to small to have candidates of theire own, theire candidates were just Stars from Germany, France and Belgium that sang for them, witch might have felt unrepresenting for the audience in Luxembourg.

Fun fact: For Czech Republic, the worst result group is actually the only one of those three acts that is popular locally. I've never heard of Mikolas or We Are Domi before Eurovision, but my entire generation and the one before me grew up on Kabát. They are music icons and half the country knows the lyrics to that song (it is actually a pretty romantic one).
The 00s eurovision sure is something...

@@zigobi6611 yes they would, look at 2011 😂😂
Good luck picking the worst UK entry! 😅
Technically Yugoslavia's entry in 1992 is by a different country than the previous Yugoslavian entries. The state of Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was established just 2 weeks before the 1992 Eurovision Song Contest. And in 2003 the country changed names to Serbia and Montenegro. Pre-May-92 the name of the country was the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. Or, one could say that the 1992 Yugoslavian entry is actually the debut entry of Serbia and Montenegro!
For Eurovision Song Contest participation, let's just stick with how it is on the official ESC website (history section). As far as the EBU is concerned, 1992 is Yugoslavia's last entry, and 2004 is Serbia & Montenegro's first entry. As for the transition from Federal Republic of Yugoslaiva to State Union of Serbia & Montenegro, there must surely have been more to it legally and politically than just a change of name.
1992 that was the reason why denmark could play on foodball em and win the em
Well changing names doesn't count, otherwise we'll have do to the same for everyone, for example Macedonia, FYROM and North Macedonia.

I really loved follow your journey here in Norway and hope you liked it aswell. I actually learned a lot about places that are litterarly outside my window. I also enjoyed your trip into the silver mines in Kongsberg a lot since I have not been there since I was 14 and i'm 46 now.
The shops is being closed in Norway as the Christian party doesn't want to have shops open on Sunday, but some places with lots of tourists can be open during the summer and sometimes easter.
Some years ago the government came up with a compromiss to shops being closed and kiosk being open, and the woman who came up with the idea gave the Sunday open shops of 100 sqare meteres the nick name Brustad-bua. Bua means a little storage place and her name is Silvia Brustad. I don't think she is a politician anymore, but hef name is stuck to the Sunday side shops. Most people state that they don't go to the shop on Sunday, but this is not true as when I worked in one of them for three years it was always long ques from the time they opened to an hour before they closed and the Christian holdidays was the worst. We also had to switch to the little shop when the clock was 4 pm and people was angry as they didn't remember.
The alcohol is also strictly regulated by the government and in grocery shops you can't buy beer and cider after 8pm on Monday-Friday and 6pm on Saturdays. No alcohol can be sold in gas stations or kiosks, but you could go to a bar or restaurant and get it, but it's very expencive and you would be forced to drink it inside or outside in a fenced in area.
People in Norway is so used to this that we don't think about it, but everyone from other countries mention this as one of the weirdest things about Norway.
Most museums and tourist attractions is open certain months of the year, mostly from May or June to August or September, sometimes October, but due to weather being heavy from mid October the people who watch these places don't want tourists to go there in the winter as some people are just stupid enough to wear t-shirt and shoes and shorts or jeans and freeze to death. You're from England and understand weather a little better than people from America or Germany and Japan. Most tourists is from these countries, but the recent years more people from other places come here too, but none of them seems to know anything about weather changing from summer to winter storm in 15 minutes.
Some of the places you visited is near where I live, and I really want to go to the Stave church you visited and to Rjukan. Rjukan is just behind the mountain from where I live, so I could go there tomorrow if I wanted to, but I will have to go in the summer as it's just to cold and windy and rain and snow every other day).
I don´t understand what this has to do with the ESC but it is interesting to hear.
