Could we think it differently? Like solving for moment of inertia normally for each section independently,, without considering a whole rectangle - the 2 holes right?? Honestly moment of inertia is a very tedious topic from statics... Unless if it was a differential area
Yes you can but it's the easiest way. You can use parallel axis theory for finding the moment of inertia ...
@@engradnanrasheedmechanical but how can I know on which axis should I calculate the area moment of inertia in bending? If the centroidal axis were unknown for example? I always miss in this topic, the final result comes always wrong with me I didn't understand it properly... I just know that it is area squared and also the ability for an object to resist rotation or torque... What is moment of inertia??!!
normally it is taken about the horizontal axis. it depends upon the moment around the axis . there are many other problems available so you can check that and learn from that as well.
