Hard to imagine the last time she performed at the VMAs before this was in 2006. Her management over the last 10-13 years has been less than productive, I mean she so easily could have performed She Wolf at the VMAs in 2009, maybe Loca in 2010 since she was on tour in the US at that time, a performance with Rihanna singing Can’t Remember to Forget You in 2014 would have been mind blowing. Even a performance with Maluma singing Chantaje in 2016 was appropriate.
Nice to see she’s getting her groove back, a new fresh team putting her on the spot, and MTV giving her all the flowers she deserves.
I think it was a personal choice as well.. when she built her family, she stayed out of the limelight because her partner was a jealous-possesive guy.. good thing she's off the hook, we can see her and listen to her more often now
