Fun fact: Rancor was suppose to cost more Mana, they dident catch the mistake until it was printed and shipped out to the stores so they just had to own up to there mistake XD

It's worth noting that even if Rancor had cost 0, it probably still wouldn't have been anywhere near as good as some stuff printed in that block, Urza's has so many stupid (arguably badly designed since so many ate bans, including in Legacy/restriction in Vintage ffs) cards that are much bigger mistakes. They make 'oopsies' like Oko look quaint, the closest I think they've come since was printing Lurrus with OG Companion, that is about it.
It's not truly Budget Bombs without the noise warning!

I have Shamanic Revelation in my Omnath Locus of Rage deck. It consistently draws 8-10+ cards when I need it and the lifegain never hurts
Happy to see Dread Return get some love. Such a sneaky reanimation spell. So many time in my dimir deck where my opponents thought I was done because my deck was mostly milled...forgetting I had dread return in there, haha. "Safety valve" is the perfect way to describe it...its 100% a safety valve reanimation spell in the two decks I run it in

Thank you so much for this series! I build all my decks on a budget since I kinda hate spending money (especially on cardboard), and this series has really helped me put enough oomf into my decks.
I just hate WOTC with such a passion nowadays that I can’t bear to give them a dime. I use proxies now or strictly buy second hand.
i proxy everything nowadays. I just buy deckboxes and sleeves. I use deckstats to print out whole decks.
None of my decks break 30$, and I love the art, so I never proxy but honestly I respect the proxy grind.

Totally agree with the take on restriction, budget is my favorite restriction to build around! Plus makes it a lil easier to swallow when you’re checking out lol
Definitely! I built a $50 deck for shuffle scuffle and just kept it together as-is, like a precon, to play at lower power levels. It’s super fun and can score wins even against pricier decks! -Beezy

$50 budget is my favorite, enough money to get a couple cool powerful cards while forcing you to find some deep cuts / avoid most staples.

I have Nadiers nightblade in my Prosper tome-bound deck, and its and absolute unit in that deck. All the treasures suddenly kill my opponents lol

Aspect of Mongoose is another cheap green enchantment to protect your most valuable creatures over and over again. It basically becomes lightning greaves if you put it on something you don't need to target yourself, Omnath locus of creation is a good example for that.
Enchanted creature has shroud. (It can't be the target of spells or abilities.)
When Aspect of Mongoose is put into a graveyard from the battlefield, return Aspect of Mongoose to its owner's hand.
So I started using Moxfield, it’s pretty good, thank you.
Picked up a couple of these (using the link, of course!). Didn't know Hallowed Spiritkeeper was so cheap and I could definitely use it in non-EDH, and I've never seen Ethereal Investigator for and it's awesome for a bunch of my decks.

I love to use Midnight Reaper and Grim Haruspex in go wide decks that doesn't use tokens. It is a great boardwipe insurance and good to gain something when that removal hits ur creature.

Good thing about dread return, is even if you dont have a good thing in your graveyard but a Great ETB you can sacrifice the creature to Dread return Flashback, and bring it back.
I'm building Hapatra right now and Nadier's Nightblade is a total bomb.
Hallowed Spiritkeeper is one of my favorite cars in my Teysa Karlov deck. Great for any aristocrat deck
Unquestioned Authority is an amazing card in Rafiq of the Many or Uril the MistStalker. The old voltron boogeymen of the format. I still play Rafiq as a tempo/midrange control with voltron elements and Unquestioned Authority is in the deck.

My version of budget decks is using cards I already own. I have around 25 Commander Decks and binders of cards I have collected over the years. At this point, if I’m building a new deck, which I love doing, I have to take a deck apart. I just have too many to enjoy them all.
Rancor is awesome. Loved that card since it came out .
I’m tempted to put Garruk in Kyler deck. I often get power 20 and even hit 40 often enough. 5 mana to draw 40 would just be hilarious
Hallowed spiritkeeper is an underrated game ender. I think they work really well with Elenda the dusk rose.

Another really good budget bomb is Call of the death-dweller brings back up to 2 creatures to a total of 3 cmc then give one a death touch token and a menace token to the other.

Dread Return is amazing in Araumi because you're already milling yourself, and then you can sacrifice the three Encore tokens to cast Dread Return and reanimate something else from your graveyard :)
Garruk Primal Hunter is a card I struggle not to put in every green deck. It’s so versatile

Wrong turn is great in my codie deck. Giving away codie can cut an opponent off from casting permanents if they don't have a sac outlet
Don't know if you've covered this one but Augmenter Pugilist//Echoing equation is a powerhouse in simic decks and it's budget.

Rancor isn’t even listed on Marwyn, the Nurturer’s page. I have a Yorvo 1v1 deck. Normally I would enchant Yorvo with Rancor, but when I draw Marwyn (elves are just the easiest way to spam green creatures, making Yorvo swing for 6 on turn 3), I usually end up enchanting her, because it boosts her mana output by 2. 😂
Sound warning doesn't work when there is literally no delay at the beginning lol!

Okay I'm alittle confused. Most of those cards you guys name rank them Ds and F. And you guys praised them like they so what nice good cards. But yet as a noob to the MGT I still idk if you guys are trolling abit or it just me. The reason I said this is well I like learning about cards from you guys. But at the same time I feel pretty discouraged. mainly on my end. And yes I greatly appreciate you guys in general. But yea I'm kinda lost here
While their answer will be more clear, ive always taken the letter grades to be comparing cards agaisnt the entierty of magic cards, in which case a card like etali is clearly a D and pretty low piwered compared to other cards that just win the game, but as a budget card that can win games without using infinite combos in a casusl meta its great and worthy of praise. Depends on the context, in budget its not faif or useful to compare every card to dockside extornist.
