I don’t think Martin is ever ever going to get tired working on these trucks.😝
Gotta be your own mechanic especially when you work on it and own it 🫡🍻🚛🚛💨💨
Amber lights can’t be any worse than the guys running down the road with purple or blue lights all down the truck and trailer lol.
Yup those are super gay 😂😂
Martin quit breaking stuff and you won't have to fix stuff😂😂😂
great idea using the wood blocks to keep the height without a bunch of dangerous jacks all over.
Check the front spring bushings, the pop is usually the spring sliding on the bushing that's pressed into the spring when it loosens up.
They’re new, ever since done can’t get them to quit. I think they just need grease.
Awe great job Mr Martin! You do a great job with your shop talk videos. Sure missed them. Have a wonderful 4th trucking together!
Thanks Matthew!
Great video l used a weed sprayer with the longer spray wand don’t need to under the truck as much makes it ease to find leaks thanks for doing the videos safe travels
Great video, you show the real life experience of a owner operator. There is always something that needs to be addressed. Stay safe
Enjoyed the video. Martin does excellent maintenance work . Have a great 4th and be safe.
A few years back, I had a bag that developed a leak like half way through the day. I called repair guy our mechanic, told him I had a bag leaking & got it blocked up. Luckily it happened on the job site.I was able to dump load of rock . Had one of the wheel loader lift the rear & I booked it up.
Glad U found the air leak on the airbag
Happy 4th to my favorite streaming Americans
Having that issue now replaced one airbag now i have another this time ill do it myself instead of paying 150 for a 20 min job
Good job Martin👍👍👍
Great video! Thx ..
Kid’s bubble making solution works well locating air leaks . Heavily apply weatherproof caulking on the top plate of the air spring at the frame rail . Original Peterbilt air springs are top quality ! Rub down the new air springs with a quality rubber preservative . Good Job !
Great video
Good one yall take care be safe 🙏
Great content for basic mtce
Great video Martin. Very informative and gives me an idea how to do the work on my 579 as well. Thank you and yall stay safe
Martan you know what takes oil off the drive way I just found out by accident is royal oak lighter fluid for the barbecue I changed the oil in my truck Saturday and for got to take the lid off lighter fluid kicks ass on motor oil
aww man working one handed , would honestly take me all four of my hands , and the “beeps” stay safe
There is a lot of money in hauling manure and you live in an area where there is a lot of manure to be hauled. It is not everyday work, more seasonal. Just a thought.
Your right the roads out in PA are bad but the roads out in Indiana are really bad on 70 east and west bound my fender broke the inner shell in behind the driver side steer tire so I had to pull it off and put some fiber glass on the inside of it let it sit for a while before I put it back on thank you for what you put on your channel keep up the great work both of you
I agree, their roads are bad
I am always amazed watching Martin work on these trucks. So many different pieces and ways they all fit together.. assemblies and subassemblies everywhere. He just knows so much and seems to put things together just the way they were meant to be... AWESOME !
Dropping common sense experience and little “funny’s”as usual Martin good video!!!
Man though you couldn’t hold it ,lol 😂 I give it to Martin you do nice work it’s only way to keep your business going especially doing most are all maintenance on your Trucks and your spread axle pretty sharp looking
Martin I had a pyometer gauge like that and put it in a truck that I had tuned. I liked it. Seemed pretty accurate
It’s a pretty good pyro. Find it pretty accurate
Happy 4th of July to u guys too.have all the new milwaukee stubby heavy duty impact they came out with now too...
Always use liquid sealant instead of teflon tape to seal threaded coolant fittings. Teflon tape will destroy a coolant pump
🙌🙌🙌
I've used that Hewitt Industries pyrometer and boost gauges for years. My pyrometer sits @ 50 degrees when dead cold. Always has. So i just do math. 50 cooler than reading. Doesn't bother me too bad. Be safe brother and sister!
I figure it’s just reading ambient, seems to be pretty accurate.
@@TruckingTogether good deal. Maybe that's it. I like them though for the money.
Popping pins. Its the shackles getting worn. Ez fix it to pull & flip them inside out. The bump is the spring moving side to side. You can buy washers to shim and new shackles too. Not too expensive or hard to do. You want them very snug
It was all just done, all of it.
try again, that fix was for the old trucks, he will find it someday.
Nothing is more annoying than them idle rattles … especially when it’s coming from the truck parked beside you 😖
Good catch Mr Martin Air leak on a air bag isn't good
Back had to make this a two-part video lol
I’d bet that coupler in the air line was for a BIT air scale (or similar). I have them on my 579… and I wouldn’t buy them again.
we have one of those but Tiny has a scale on the dash so wouldn’t of been for that.. I’m willing to bet it was from before our time of owning it and Martin just thinks it’s his doing 😂 -A
Each to their own. I like the tape better. We have had the teflon paste dry out and leak before. Why did you take the heard bumpers off ? I would like to have them on our trucks but they cost more than we want to pay right now. Keep safe and keep making them videos. And hope you 2 have a great 4th of July. Hey did Alice's mom get moved back to?
Man I find that with the tape, the paste shouldn’t dry out between threads. Herd is ugly and cost me a full mpg in fuel, I’d have to hit a deer everyday for that to pay for itself. Plus a buddy wanted it soooo worked out. Yes Alice’s mom is down the road from us.
Super trucker Just Trucking would have replaced them all. That dude throws alot of money away.
He sucks.
Is it some sort of design flaw that my 2016 579 has a loose bumper on the drivers side too?😂😂 I blame the NorCal roads, I run from Sacramento to Salinas/Santa Cruz area, or sac to San Jose area.
lol yeah probably the rough roads.
Pyrometer will be a LOT more accurate, and your wiring process works. I have seen sloppier dealer wiring. LOL...Keep thing rigjht, my friend,
Good beautiful HOT morning yall
Happy 4th of July/Independence Day 2 All of U!!!!!!🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸📢📢📢📢📢📢📢📢💯😎👍🏾🙌🏾🥘🍕🌭🍤🥩🍔🍲🍦🎇🎆🧨
You do great work on your equipment. Its not hard to see why the shippers work with you. Tally ho, as they say on another kind of carrier.
What causes the fuel filter gauge to not work on a Cummins?
that’s a Paccar motor only gauge, we got that panel used off of a Paccar truck. Cummins don’t have the sensor for it
@TruckingTogether ohh ok. I do remember now you putting those gauges in. Thanks for the info!
Yes sir nothing like them raddles specially from a cat my kitty vibrats every thing loose when it idles lol try not to idle to much
Bump the idle up lol
Get back get back to trucking and make that money!!!
What money?? lol
why did you sell the other reefer then you would have 2 trailer's
Hopefully Tiny sells soon for ya…..l
Why is there a coffee can coming out the side?
It’s a fresh bean grinder. It’s a 579 thing, you wouldn’t understand.
Do you have to have your own trailer for the place you're leased to?
No they have some trailers they rent out, it’s not a bad rate from what I understand but I believe they only have dry vans available at the moment. We run spot with them as they don’t have anything in our area but they’re a great company. Can pull whatever you want here.
couldn't U apply armorall or Gunk engine protector shine on the airbag's! Gunk seems to stand up to/endure grime & dirt'e so much better! sorry! just say'n! so it's the Mrs. fishtailing around those Pen gravel roads @ 60mph! U need 2 hands, as U mash your fingers!!
Oh yeah!!!!!!! GR8 TIMEZ😎🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊🔊💯📢📢📢📢📢📢📢
Didn’t you cut it for your Bluetooth weigh thing a ma gig
Yeah probably lol
🤙🏽🤟🏾👍🏽🤘🏽🌮🌮🍺😎👍🏽
Wow big difference in videos, the last one to this one. I actually liked that one showed how terribly wrong things can go when your out there and things go south to this video where everything was very relaxed. It can happen one maybe two times a week. Then you go 3 weeks and everything is running like a well tuned pocket watch. Then bang it happens again. It’s so frustrating because so many times the trucking company gets no money or no where near enough money, Varey rare the trucking company is happy with the compensation money it deserves. Enough ranting. Martin man your one heck of a man that can fix or find and fix what ever has gone south on your equipment. I used to hate rattles. Buy a tractor, shake rattle and roll as they say. I like the idea of each tractor has its own trailer. Less ware and tear on just one unit plus gives you flexibility. All these things add up to the bottom line and less pressure on everyone . If one trailer breaks down you still got the other one. No trailer no wheels go round and round and then the $ sign falls out on the scheme of things. Great video guys. Hope things are going better out there for Alice. Home in a few days..Have a great and a safe day. Happy trails to you, D…
