You need the cylinder mount towards the front of the dump trailer. If you look at the cylinder it’s mounted center of the body. You need it closer to the front of the body. I have the same problem.
I have to get my tractor with a bucket and use it to help lift the body. I catch the corner of one side in the front dump trailer so I can dump it load. I or someone has to push the up button on the trailer and someone has to operate the tractor. No fun getting a full load.
I agree with the front mount cylinder, they’ll lift what they say they will. If you’ll block yours up just a couple inches so it can’t go all the way down they’ll usually lift without assistance.
what ever trailer you get make sure it has a true scissor hoist. my son and son in law both have Bic Tex 14,000 pound capacity dump trailer that the bed is over the tires which allows the sides to fold down and they can load over the sides. I have personally hauled over 5 tons many times. Plus you could haul the pallets of pallet stock on it and would only have to band them , not strap them down since they are enclosed in 30 inch high sides. the trailers themselves weigh around 3800 empty so they are stout trailers
Plus they have a spreader tailgare so you could spread that pit gravel as smooth as you can soread it with a tractor
Check the pressure relief valve setting on the trailer, hydraulic pressure may be set too low.
Open the valve up on the hydraulic pump. It’s not the trailer. It’s the pump. And or the hydraulic lines.
There is a Pressure Relieving valve on the pump. It dumps excess pressure back to the tank. Should be set to the weakest component.(Really all components should be 3500PSI)
Make sure it has the right viscosity oil too.
My thoughts exactly check the hydraulics, electric motor load and output.
I'm never bored with y'all s videos. Old man here just loves watching y'all work...and play! Keep 'em coming!
One of many reasons I decided to buy an older one ton flatbed dump truck with an old pto driven dump. It will dump anything I ever want to haul. I'm calling dump truck people if I need more. It is my pickup and everything. No worries tossing firewood up in it cause you ain't gonna hurt this bed.
My idea about the trailer is that if it doesn't lift as much as it is supposed to then the 12v motor might be partially burned out.
Cylinder is under sized , may also need a higher gpm pump. There is a formula to match pump and cylinder. If all else is equal, you might save some dollars with just an upgrade.
Hey folks, really like watching all that you do.
Thanks for watching!
Great video and good content. I can see how y'all never run out of things to do on Your sawmill and farm. I see your project is coming along.
I have a Texas Pride trailer that will dump without any problem 6 tons. It's not the brand necessarily but my trailer had a telescopic dump, or the big cylinder at the front of the dump bed. It is super strong. Your issue is the scissor lift. They are cheaper to build and have a faster cycle time when they do dump, but gosh they are weak. My TP telescopic dump is power up and gravity down. Highly recommend one. My unit is a 7X12 with 36" sides and a GVWR of 14,000 lbs.
Also a friend of mine had a dump trailer like your and had the same problem he found out the the wrong cylinder was installed at the factory it looked right was only rated at 2.5 tone this was 3 years ago
Because the way its built. You need to get the one that has the cylinder up front. They are built a little bit different. Thanks keep up the videos
Good work up keeping, always inspiring to see how others farmers get it done
My experience is that scissor lift hoists are not as strong as the cylinder at the front of the box.
You may want to consider installing a new single acting hydraulic pump. It has gravity down and they are usually stronger. I just got through dealing with this same issue after mine burned up.
I certainly don't know about these things but I'm so interested in farming work
Stick along for the ride!
Have a newer/ different type hydraulic piston put on it, get the piston on it that does what you want it tondo
Looks and sounds like the cylinder piston may be bypassing fluid. You could repack it and see if that helps. It's also possible that the hose feeding the back of the cylinder has a bubble or tear in the lining, or some other type of restriction. It's rare, but I have seen it happen.
As mentioned below, it's also possible your relief valve is set low or is partially opening under load. I didn't hear the usual scream of an open or leaking relief valve, so that may not be the first place to look.
Moritz dump trailer
Get you a big Tex with telescoping cylinder. I dump 7-8 tons all day
My kinda video because y'all my kinda folks . Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching along!
you definitely need the dump trailer that Daniel has on The Kelley's Country life channel
Many years driving tippers in Aus all comes down to pump pressure or rating of the hoist cheers mate ❤
I have a small dump trailer, cam 6.5 x12 , 10000 gvw. I pile the shit out of it and it dumps everything.
3 STEAK TACOS PLEASE!
when taco bell stopped making the "bell beefer" I hardly ever go there, that was just the same thing as on the shell but on bun, I really liked that in fact that's how we make them at home.
Always a great video guys.... Thanks....
Take the corner of your bucket and assist the front of the trailer to raise... Usually, after you get it started a few inches, the scissor lift will finish it.
My next dump will have a telescoping ram.
Load it more toward the back but don't make it light on the truck. I have been hauling dirt with mine. I load it on the back 1st making it actually pick up on the back of the truck. Then I load the front until I have weight back on my truck. I promise I am hauling way more than the the 9500# capacity doing this way. I loaded it one time with rock like yours too much in the front and could not dump it. Power down can be a good feature if you need to pull it back down. Some trailers have down release and power down. Mine does not. I had an old 2 ton Ford grain truck. I would never go back to it even though I have to be careful about how I load the dump trailer.
Try a buddies trailer pump. Maybe you just need a better pump. Or the relief valve is to low
Try a bigger cylinder on your trailer. A half inch larger can make a big difference and a lot cheaper than a new trailer - though a bit slower. just take the ratio of the area of your existing cylinder divided into the area of a larger size and that will be the increase in lifting capacity.
Look at Texas pride trailers ,I have one they built has 2 15 ton axles I had to up grade a truck but it hauls and dumps 18 tons of rock no problem.
We have a song we sing in our family I made up for the kids...kind of a Pepto Bismol tune😅
🎶"I can tell by the smell that you ate Taco Bell, diarrhea!!"🎶
If you get a new trailer, get one with the back gate that will open barn door style like yours and will open dump truck style. That way you can tailgate dirt or stone as you drive and raise the bed.
Mine does that.
Loaded Beef Nachos!
I like those chain hook holes in your fenders, much more secure than my dump trailer.
Good evening and great video . Don't blame you for wanting another trailer. Maybe you'll get some Catfish the next time. Take care and have a blessed and safe day 🙏
Your hydraulic system needs a tune up I would start with the oil filter first! And also not so much loading at the front may help. Cheers
Leverage and horsepower. If you were going to manually lift the trailer bed, would you lift the front of the bed or near the folcrum?
Look where the cylinder rod is pushing! It needs to push near the front, where you have more leverage.
I hope that helps!
My dog refused to eat anything from Tacobell
They built a taco beel here two years ago.
I've never seen any customers going there.
I certainly don't eat there.
Love good taco or borito.
Dirty work AWESOME.. Put a volt meter on the battery. An left it an 👀 should be 11.50 or more. Good luck 👍 💓
I never thought about running a blade in reverse to spread with. It will definately cut less. Thanks
Relief pressure may be set too low and is dumping fluid back to the tank. If the spring is weak in the relief valve it will do that. You may be able to adjust it.
That is a double acting cylinder , power up and down is why you need to power it down.. My favorite trailer hoist is a telescoping cylinder on the front
Check out cotontop3's dump trailer, that thing is a beast! You have to load the scissor hoist trailers heavier towards the rear. One guy actually puts a 6x6 block at the front just so it has a bit of a headstart not picking up from the very bottom.
Tim (cottontop3) suggested I place a block on mine.
Great video
set the relife valve higher.
As always, enjoyed the video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Check your pressure on the hydraulic unit - connect to the outbound port, betting it's dialed back too far
I have to load gravel toward the rear of the trailer to be able to lift the load with the hoist. Forgot a few times and had to help it with the bucket on my tractor lifting while I raised the hoist.
Yeah I'm just messing with you somebody's got LOL as long as you're having fun doing it did you have a happy 4th
Having eaten at Taco Bell for 25 years and don't miss it,
TACO BELL NEEDS TO BRING THE STUFFED GRILLED BURRITO BACK. PUT THAT IN THE VEDIO
Another good video from you folks 👍, I assume the trailor is fitted with an electrice motor and not hydraulic ram? As hydraulic rams are the best of both worlds and do not scream like under powered electric motors. Good luck with the new tipper!
There is an adjustment screw on the pump. Had the same frustration until I found out how easy the fix was.
Looks good hello to you both
I love Taco Bell or as some folk call it “taco hell” but however you say it; it’s good and filling.
Check the pressure on the pump to make sure it put up 3.200 psi
I saw the alpo truck parked outside taco bell
Tyler Brittany could drive the truck and you could shovel off by hand. Better placement if you can't gate drop!
Great video I never have been a fan of a scissor lifts they put the cylinder in the center of the dump bed it’s just too much strain on it. Look at Tim O’Brien cotton top three trailer the cylinder is at the front that’s the reason why it lifts so much easier
That gar is good eating. It's a pain to clean, but it's worth it I think
No to taco bell! Gives me the runs lol that and McDonald's both!
Check the rating on your pump and motor see what is at most little dump trlr only has a 2,000 lb capacity. The other thing could be your wire size between the battery and the pump you want big battery cable 1/0 or 2/0 plus two batteries are better than one. (Mechanic from madison wi. ) I have work on a few of them. Love your videos
Taco Bell is very healthy. Anytime I want a salad I order a soft taco. I get more lettuce there than I would anywhere else.
Man that’s some good looking stuff I wish we had that kind of material in Georgia
It makes a perfect base material!
I’d have to draw a diagram of that linkage and write equations to really know but the leverage against the cylinder to get the initial lift is astronomical. And leverage against the cylinder the rest of the travel to get more lift than the length of the cylinder.
Would be interesting to see the designs on successful trailers.
the problem could be the pressure relief valve is set too low.
Mike Morgan from Outdoors with the Morgans has a trailer similar to yours ( I can't remember the brand right now) and he hauls and dumps over 5T of gravel with it regularly with no problem. Check out his channel to find out the brand if you're interested in upgrading. Thanks for making great videos.
I hate a piece of equipment that won't do what it's supposed to do. Great video!
Exactly!
have you checked the hydraulic oil level? may have some dirt in the lines or the filter is clogged. might be werth a check.
Load gravel mostly in the back too
U need one with the cylinder in the front not scissor lift
Wonder if placing your empty tractor bucket on the back of your loaded trailer with the gates open and secured, then engage you trailer lift at the same time of lowering your tractor bucket would aid in dumping your trailer load?
Tried a bunch of times. Never works.
The only thing I would suggest if you are looking for a new trailer is to get one withthe talegat like the big dumptrucks have so you can spread the dirt instead of using your tractor so much.
This one has that gate. It can swing both with the doors and as a single door. However you can not spread clay gravel in the manner your describing because of its clay content. It will just clog up.
A tornado took out the local Taco Bell in March and they are opening a new one and the same spot this month.
Отличное, интересное получилось видео! Отличная рыбалка! Мне очень понравилось! Круто Круто!!!👍🇷🇺❤️
Restrictions in line or starting to bypass cylinder a bit. Relief valve setting as mentioned by.others.
Soil really is red down there. I'll be danged. 😎
Two big barrito supreme and 1 tacco crunchy. Large coke.
I’d love to come and help you on the farm. Another great video
WHEN IT RAINS, THATS GONNA BE A MUDHOLE. ONE WORD: GRAVEL
Move end of cylinder closer to the front of the trailer and maybe a bigger cylinder.
Check the pressure at the cylinder, if OK then the cylinder is leaking around the piston, or the cylinder dia is too small.
Good choice Aiden! Taco Bell is my favorite!
Have you ever thought about putting the 14:09 Tractor loader under the front corner and help lift it.
David from Arkansas, I am just guessing but I think the electric motor has been hooked up backward, My clue is when you lower the bed it is taking forever to drop down, A sign that a ton of fluid is going through pump to normally lift up. And then it will not lift until half of it is unloaded, bypassing a quick flow valve to get a steady but controlled drop. Just a Arkansas guess.
Sounds like it could be low on hydraulic fluid.
Like others are saying, but put in a gauge and bump up the PRV..Not over 3000#
Auw he’ll turn out the big dog then wo
tyr adjusting the relief valve... sounds like the relief valve is too light or under adjusted
Does your buddy have the same set up single cylinder with the scissors lift ,or dual cylinders ? Nothing wrong with the trailer,I'd try a higher volume pump first the same as the dual cylinder setup.
Does it have a different dump rating? I love Taco Bell.
Taco bell, not a chance
OH GOD, my codolences to your stomachs, TACO HELL.
Check the relief valve
Taco Belle
Good food
Buts its only rental food
You give it back as soon as you eat it. Passes through you quick
