Awesome review, would you mind telling me what your Cura settings you are running for it? Thank you!
Great review! I’m starting to move away from glass and making the switch to flexible build sheets .
Couple of questions because I have a Kobra Plus:
1. for some reason my computer refused to read the provided micro sd card or thumb drive so I couldn't get the "recommended profile" or what ever it was called to set up Cura. Any clue how to get the right stuff? I couldn't find it on their site and ended up finding one from some random person that claims it would work as long as I adjusted my build plate size, and it is working but not sure it was the best settings.
2. Why do all peoples prints have a circle around the area but doesn't attach to the model while mine makes a giant flash around all model bases that actually attaches to the model? I have to clean up the base of everything I print and unsure what setting that actually is and worry about changing random settings and messing something up. You can see what I'm talking about at 3:43. Your printer drew a couple of lines like an inch away. Mine does it like 1/4 of an inch and then attaches to the model.
Aside from those questions I seem to have no issue with mine except the plastic scraper they provided was crap and ended up chipping and I now use a metal paint scraper to remove from the glass.
Great review! Very glad you recommended the bed change! I was wondering how it’s held up over the 10 months since this was first reviewed?
I had two one is still working off site with a friend, the other was a demo and was not printed on again
I recently bought a Kobra plus ... before that there were only lcd from anycubic ... I'm still trying to figure out the settings of the cura to get a normal texture of the top surface when printing horizontally (for example, a wooden floor) ... I can't find information anywhere about this ...
I had a chip out of a Kobra Max bed but Anycubic sent out a replacement. Do not print PetG on these surfaces without out doing some research. I believe using glue will prevent it but doe so at you own risk and better still, print on the other size.
I just order one I have mega x and didn't like no self leveling and speed is the issue too,if they had direct drive on kobra plus that whould be a plus ,and where to find those print they are amazing?!
how did u get the kobra plus profile for cura i been looking for it and its settings
Can you share your profile that you ended up using?
Do you think you’ll do a calibration video for the AnyCubic Kobra plus. I’m really struggling with bad stringing among other things. Please help
I can do that for sure
Do you have any cura prfiles that you can upload for Silk Pla for the Kobra Plus? Would be much appreciated!
its the same as normal pla just increase your temp a little and maybe decrease retraction a few mm
Hi I have a question, maybe someone here can help me: I am quite new in the 3D printing world, now I'm responsible to find a new 3d Printer for the company where I work, because I will be using it mostly. So I want to print parts with the best precision as possible, and I am sure I want to get a FDM printer. Because we build some "devices" with housing, I was thinking of the Kobra Max, but I read maybe for smaller parts is the Max not so ideal, that's why I was thinking to get the Kobra Plus, as 99% of the parts should fit in the 300x300 bed, just not the Housing comnpletly as in the Kobra, but then I will have to live with that. Does that makes sense?? THANKS FOR THE HELP! :)
I just got my Kobra Plus. Having all kinds of print issues with it. You seem to have it pretty dialed in. Do you have any guide on the settings you are using. I am getting a lot of stringing on my PETG prints, and I cannot get the same quality on PLA prints as I did on the owl test print.
Retraction 6.5mm and drop your temp by 10’degrees
@@TheRealSamPrenticedon't know if you have printed on it recently but if you have what else have you changed?
where can i join the group for the cobra plus ?
Great review on the Anycubic printers. i have the small Kobra and other than a filament feed issue, and this is my first printer I really love it.
Question, I was wanting to get a little bit larger bed printer, any suggestions. I really like the magnetic bed on the Kobra, I believe you mentioned that other printers with the glass bed could be changed out.... Thanks, Dave...
Thanks Dave yep any printer can have a flex bed popped on there :) the kobra plus and the max have performed well as it happens
Hello thank you for the review I ordered the 310x310 PEI sheet which is to short question is can you still use auto level with this size?
Yes indeed
What 3d printing model software can I use with the kobra plus
Fusion 360’or tinkercad depending on what you’re doing
Do you have any good settings for printing PLA+?
i have issues with stringing and how the prints come out, i think its a temperature/retraction speed issue.
Id drop the heat by 10 on the hot end and run some tests, retraction around 6
Does autoleveling still work properly with the PEI bed swap?
Yep of course
Any chance that you could measure the feet distance for me? Like how small could a plate be so that the feet can rest on it?
I can when I get back from the USA
@@TheRealSamPrentice That would be great, thank you.
The PEI sheet needed for this one is 310x310, correct?
Not quite 310x320 ideally
What kind/brand is that pei sheet? 300mm x 300mm right?
Its 310x310 the link and Brand is below :)
The size on the amazon link say it's 235x235. Is this correct?
Yeah I saw that but it’s the link i used but 310x310
Is what i ordered
what is that 3d printed stand to your right and where can i get the files?
Stand ?
OMG 556 views and no one added comments? Oh wow... indeed PEI sheets are my favorites too. Just a question Sam, are you now a Fakir because of all those Kobra's? 😂
I know right !! Lol Fakir :) maybe ;)
Okay definitely new to the game but I cannot find this printer in cura
You need to add the profile yourself it’s on the sd card
@@TheRealSamPrentice unfortunately mine did not come with an SD card I bought it used
I feel like I'm living the Mandela effect but was it just me or didn't the Kobra max have the direct drive extruder when it first came out??
Nope that was the kobra and the kobra neo
@@TheRealSamPrentice wait, there was a Kobra neo? Man I've so not been paying attention. I wonder, could you put the kobras direct drive hotend on a vyper?
@@johnnyhellfire6 my review on that will be out later
@@TheRealSamPrentice ooooooooo that's what you were talking about earlier. Out of it today lol. I look forward to that actually. Been talking to a guy on thingaverse with his design. Uses all original parts.
Thank you for these reviews on the Anycubic machines! They are obviously playing a shell game with features and new models every year and without work from people like you it would be an endless game of which one is on sales and has the best half of the features I need… I at least don’t feel so confused and mislead by their inaccurate and broken English Amazon listings.
I want the Kobra Max to be better in a few places not just pure volume. The Kobra Plus will do 90% of my projects but when the last 10% needs doing I will be right back. 400+mm printers are very lack luster under $400… and I am back to the runaround again. With two broken printers not worth repair this will be my 4th purchase and my experience tells me I won’t be happy with anything on the market I can afford.
I can see how there is a new company every week founded trying to cover the gaps… but seriously Anycubic NEEDS to make a full send core XY 500mm cubed printer for $1100 printer so I can buy a quality cover everything printer without having to take a month off work to build a Voron or some other custom monster that won’t be finished for a year.
Am I the only one who cant get a refund or a machine that actually works
Maybe?
Dang
I upgraded my Kobra Max by returning it and getting an Ender 5 Plus.
I have both machines and the ender5 plus is still a dog. You’ll need to upgrade that one to feel like you’re getting somewhere ;)
@@TheRealSamPrentice 100%. I immediately had to upgrade it out of the box to make it even halfway functional which was incredibly annoying. The Kobra max worked right out of the box which was great, until it didn't work and tried to kill itself over and over again lol
The Kobra Max is great if you use the right settings. You gave up too soon.
@@petercallison5765 I gave up after it destroyed itself for no reason, I don't think that's a "settings" problem. It was likely an auto bed level sensor problem, I believe it uses induction sensors for ABL and it went bad.
can it print nylon filaments?
If you can get it hot enough
Did you mean $400 in USD?
Yes.. ?
