  • Where are the 3rd party aircraft lvars located? In this video i will discuss where to find them also i also have a hypothesis of why any marketplace aircraft do no have lvars or at least that i can find. My belief is that they only use b events and sim events due to the marketplace needs to cater to xbox as well as the default msfs ke bindings do not have lvars available or at least that i know of. I will not be covering how to program the lvars or events however i will go over where and how to find the location of the lvars . Every developer codes their files differently and as you will see in the video some devs make it very easy to find what we need and others like to sent us on a wild witch hunt lol. If you have any questions please let me know in the comments and be sure to subscribe like and share the video !

You're 100% right ! Finding the LVAR's you need can be a headache and very very time consuming. I would be a dream all the developpers provide XML files as clearly organised as the one for the TBM 850. Even with SPAD data monitor, it's not that easy. Thanks for you video, It gave me some ideas to refine my searches.

Don’t use Spad for finding Vars. Could be a pain in the a.. ;-) Use AAO and it will be a lot easier and less time consuming.

@@ChrisPUA320 Thanks fo the tip. I largely prefer the SPAD UI but, if AAO can save me some time and hassle, I will surely give it a try.

The PMDG does have LVars! You were just looking in the wrong folder ;-) Although PMDG does use another structure on how to control the aircraft, PMDG has also a very well organized structure to find and control via LVars and K-Events. In my opinion the best program to find (all) Vars - not only LVars and events - is AAO. That is much better than Spad… With the PMDG you use LVars just to get the status of the switches and buttons etc. and for inputs it uses one KVar ONLY with different values. That makes it very easy to assign any hardware and control the PMDG externally.

Lvars are data values that 3rd party developers use in place of events .

If you are not using spad , fsuipc or mobiflight for your keybindings then this video won't mean much to you.

Ok Some third party aircraft use L var to activate switches, which is a data value. Because it's a data value. lvars can also send information about systems like location of your flaps gear things like that. lvares can also be used to trigger events. For instance, if you use the default Microsoft flightsimulator gear down event, then subsequently inside the cockpit, the gear lever will also move.. lvar's work a little bit differently.
An lvar may be used to move the gear handle inside the cockpit Thus triggering an event for your gear to go down. That's just a very basic and raw explanation of what they are and what they can do.

Here's another for instance some Aircraft that I have flown. You need to actually program in lvar and an event. Something that comes on the top of my mind. Is the autopilot panel in one of the airliners i flew ,to change the altitude You needed to use an event, but if you wanted to see the knob moving as well, you then had to program the lvar for the knob movement.
