Step inside the pitch meeting that led to Fast Five!
From humble beginnings as a movie about underground street racing, The Fast and Furious franchise has evolved into what’s essentially a new series of superhero movies. With each passing film, the stakes get higher and the stunts get crazier. Many people think the turning point for that evolution was the fifth installment of the franchise - the bizarrely named Fast Five.
The movie definitely raises a lot of questions. Like how did the good guys know they weren’t going to kill anyone when they got Dom off the prison bus? Why did they even care that some of the people on the train heist wanted a particular car? How did any of their associates get into Brazil? How did they buy a vault, steal police cars, participate in a street race and joyride cop cars around town without raising any flags? Why did we spend so much time watching them do stuff that ended up being meaningless to the plot? Why is this called Fast Five?

I’m at a point where i’ll watch pitchh meetings for movies i haven’t watched and don’t care about
In this particular case, by only watching the pitch meeting I can legitimately say I enjoyed this movie. Sitting through it would only have ruined the experience.
PS For some reason, I had to look up the spelling of 'legitimately' - it seems there is a price to pay, after all :(

I'd really like to see the demographics of people who watch the fast and the furious franchise begining from the 5tg movie . It used to be about cars , so there was a lot of gearheads watching but now most gearheads don't like it , how is it pulling the big bucks ?
going home haha I have no idea either. I saw the first in theaters and thought it was cool and then it started going into 007 action and I totally lost interest.

The first movie was about an undercover cop in the racing scene to catch truck highjackers (aka Point Break with cars)
The second movie was about the now ex-cop being forced to go undercover to bust a drug dealer and clean his record.
The fourth movie was about the cop somehow now being an FBI agent, trying to catch a drug dealer who killed the girlfriend of the hijacker from first movie, so they team up and go undercover to catch the drug dealer.

Rumor has it that initially the Maro bros were identical twins. But Luigi had eaten an 'altered' mushroom (created by Bowser to help himself with losing weight but accidentally left behind in 1 of the castles) that slimmed Luigi down but did not take his height away when he got hit.
There was an 'origin story' comic that gives the entire story about it, but it's on the back of the *declaration of independence* so you're gonna have to get your hands on it if you want to see for yourself.

So in short, plot of Fast X is inspired by producer guy's concern about dying villains in this movie.

Producer: "Yeah, any time a franchise isn't making money we ring the Rock alarm bell and get the Rock in to be a main guy in the sequels"
Scriptwriter: "I didn't know we had that"
Producer: "All studios do. That's why he did Journey 2, the second GI Joe film, the Mummy 2, why he'll probably do something like Jumanji 2 and 3 and why he'll definitely be a main part of this franchise"
Scriptwriter: "Ooh, convincing one of the most famous actors to do sequels is tight"

I just got done watching the entire marvel compilation and thankfully there are still pitch meetings I haven't seen...YET!
