Awesome playing - you have the feel, and the licks are exceptional - load some of your live (Covid-19 "Live") Clips. You make that combination sound unbelievable. Really enjoyed that.
Hey thank you so much for the kind words :-). That means a lot. I'm going to make an effort to improve my little channel and actually send out some cooler material for you guys.
Youve discovered the Peavey secret. Im a session/touring player in Canada and Ive been using them forever. I just loaded up a Special 130 today with an EVM 12L for gigging and its amazing.....
Holy crap, I came to hear the amp, but didn't care about the tone after the first 30 seconds. Your playing is so sweet! Your speed, melody, and finger picking make me want to either practice more, or just give up! LOL Superb playing Matt, just so good. And the guitar and amp sound fantastic as well.
Dang!!! You got that right Matt. Got me looking for a 130 now. Always loved 711 A Street products. Met HP years back, told him he was My Generation's Leo Fender and I still mean it too.
You've really gotten the hang of the EMG vg20 set. Sounding really great. You really hear the sustain from the low magnetic string pull. These pickup are full of suprises. Got an old Roland compressor from the 70s that sounds so nice with the EMGs. Seems like the active pickups increase the tonal variations of all my old effects pedals. That being said they sound so great clean with a touch of reverb.
Man I am debating between the DG20 and VG20, life is full of important choices. These almost sound like a real clean humbucker with a ton of highs, very clean though
Yeah man with the gain rolled up on that last "tone" control they're basically a nice, clean, high fidelity humbucker tone. Retains the clean high end but adds some girth where it counts.
I was looking around at pricing on the Special 130 as i was thinking to sell mine, used it 30 years ago in high school mostly ... After seeing this, I think i better set down the tube amps for a bit take another look at it! Amazing playing Matt... then i started looking up more about Matt ... video in Lodo ... but now moved to GA ? Im up in Fort Collins if you ever want to see if you really miss that rig.
Dude I'm glad to have had an effect. Unless you want to sell it. Let me know, lol. They're really nice amps. They reveal a lot of tone with speaker changes so swap a few out and see what ya think.
I got a special 130 headed my way, can’t wait! Nice pickin man! Is your speaker the stock scorpion? Any mods to yours? I read that there’s a chip mod (burr brown) that make these sound even better.
Matt, you are a killer player. Nice picking style. I've been looking into getting a Special 130 myself (I'm almost always playing clean), but I'm curious as to whether, or not this amp can be played quietly. I've heard it described as a 'paint peeler'. I'm old. I'm not going to be playing out. Is this an amp that can sound good at television volume?
Hey man these amps are quite nice at low volumes if you roll the bass up a little bit. Very full and round and warm. If anything you have to roll back on the lows at high volumes. It's only a paint peeler for people who are peeling paint lol:). Just grab one and mess around. You'll dig it. Thanks for writing:)
Also it depends on the guitar. I bought an Ibanez RG with high output pickups, and went to play a small gig with some friends, and I was playing through a different amp, but I couldn't get it quiet enough even at 1...(with a drummer)..... sucked, I had to turn down the volume on my guitar, so watch the output of the pickups...

Yeah man it's really a fantastic combo right? Lol. Heavy-ish but not too bad, of course. Those amps are just fantastic.

Yeah I've been using these pickups for over a year now and that's VERY rare for me but I just can't see a reason to swap em out:)
Nice playing...Drowning in reverb...Just picked one up real cheap and re-capped it,did some tweaks...Great amp!

Man there's an evm12l in there! Makes a giant difference for sure. Never felt like it needed anything else after that. Thanks dude:)
Entre o emg dg20 e emg vg 20, qual o melhor para blues😊?
My spanish is terrible, lol. I prefer the VG 20 for blues all day. it does better midrange and gain:)
