@QuilterLabs101 @BOSSinfoglobal @fender @seymourduncan this rig is great. Tone, feel, bloom, sustain, and statement. What a rig. Everything really came together on this one. The Looking Glass overdrive is fantastic, especially in this combo. The cabinet is loaded with an EV, of course.

Trying to just showcase the versatility of these suckers into a dirty amp just using the knobs but...it's real hard not just jam around on them, lol.

Running my trusty emg loaded strat to give you guys a good example of the cleans they can produce, along with the varation that can be achieved using the spc control included in the Vince Gill rig. My amp...holy cow. That's all I have to say about that, lol. Hey my friend, how do you feel about the tube question mark do you feel like having the preamp as a tube helps the sound of the unit?
I think that it feels a little poppier under my fingers, but I'm not sure if it's because of the tube or the more analog nature of the unit. I can't do modern digital stuff on stage. There's too much of a disconnect for me from the note. The older, tube based, analog preamps are better. To me, anyway. More to haul around, though:)
@@MattSpinks Thanks Matt.
like it
Great playing and gorgeous tone! Cheers dude.
Hey dude thank you:) Love that amp:)
👍 nice sound
Great tones !!
Thanks man:) I'm digging the deluxe for sure.
フロントはvintage stackですか?
nice playing… Very clean. No noise. Excellent form. Is this same Matt from Coldwater?
Sorry man I don't know Coldwater. And thanks for noticing the noise floor! I obsess over a gate being just right.
Great as always Matt
Hey thanks, Loren!
You are awesome Mr. Matt. If I listen Your music, I feel true and artistic lightnes, so much pure art.
Well dang I appreciate that very much:)
All that pickin and no grinnin?
lol sometimes
Just imagine if all those old Crate combos had sounded like this and came equipped with an Eminence Swamp Thang - things mighta turned out differently.
Very cool demo, how does the SA compare to vince gill (EMG S) pickups?
Hey thanks:) They are the same. You'd have to go to the sax I think to have a different tone. The Vince Gill rig has a gain/humbucker knob on it, though:) The sa's are just sooooo clear and concise. Love them. The X series ads a bit of lower mid range fur and slightly attenuates the highs. It's super nice.
has it been reliable?
It was while I owned it man:) Put it through it's paces for a few months with a LOUD rock band, actually.
well, anyway, great vid and playing!! @@MattSpinks
Goodnight friend ! Your videos are great, could you record one with the EMG VG 20 using overdrie and distortion?
I sure can man:) I'll get one ordered. It'll be a little while as I have to wait for shipping from EMG.
Hey man that guitar is it a peavey strat with a aftermarket fender neck block inlays sounds terrific amazing tone thanks
Hey man thanks:) it's strat body I got off of marketplace for 30 bucks, high-ish quality parts, emg pickups, warmoth neck:)
Nice sounds pro jr has
Hey man! I hope all is well. I met you in deadwood years ago. Glad to see your still jamming
Duuuuudddddeeee! It's so nice to hear from you. I hope everything is going well man. Thanks for writing:)
Entre o emg dg20 e emg vg 20, qual o melhor para blues😊?
My spanish is terrible, lol. I prefer the VG 20 for blues all day. it does better midrange and gain:)
Just went from your DigiTech 1,000 video to this. It's funny how ears can tune things in very similar!
Dude that is a good point! I tend to generally sound similar on different rigs, that's for sure. I need another 1,000 lol. That thing sounds good.
I love it! The neck pick ups do give a more distinct sound, but honestly no matter what you play it sounds great! With or without effects.
That art amp is just fantastic, though. It does so much better than current "all in one options" in my opinion. No modeling. Just a tube pre into a good output section.
Still have it? If you switch in a 470K ohm resistor parallel to the power tube cathode resistor you can run a 6L6 or EL34 and switch it back for the stock 6v6. Then double the speaker resistance on the back panel, so select 16 for an 8 ohm speaker. The VHT speaker is more or less a Vintage 30, swap to taste, darker alnicos are great, like the Celestion Alessandro SC59. I have the Ultra head with a 1 x12 cab, swapped in a 60s Hammond organ alnico speaker, running a 6L6 power tube and 12Au7 in V1. Ran it with an EL84 on a tube socket adapter for a while to quiet it down in the house but the 6L6 sounds are too good.
Dude I LOVE that stock speaker now. It really sounds good to my ears. I'm glad you mentioned it. I like having the brightness available if I need it...which I never would, lol. I'm really excited now man. I'll have to tear back into it. Such a great rig, especially for the money. Killer tones all day. I particularly enjoy the el84 tones. Thanks for the info!
I got the Pod Go, Gt-1000 and you make this pedal sound better than both foreal!
Well damn thank man:)
One of the best noodling and demo of rp1000 direct in pa. Thank you
happy to provide man:) They sound sweet!
Freakin' Amazing!
Well thank you!
WHat mods did you make? May grab one soon....and I know I'm late to the party.
That was sooooo long ago I can't remember what my tech did, sorry. I know we swapped out the op amps and re capped it.
@@MattSpinks No worries. I may be meeting someone tomorrow. Who's selling one. Did you keep yours? Did you get rid of it? Thanks for getting back.
Fantastic!
Hey thanks dude:)
Nice. ❤
Thank you for this excellent video. Surprisingly, the bridge pickup sounded so good that you could just play that pickup by itself (like an Esquire) on this guitar. It sounds so full that you could almost play somewhat acoustic sounds on it. It has more bottom end than I expected.
EMG pickups have excellent lows that's for sure. I appreciate it man:)
Great stuff
Thanks!
Smooth sound!
Hey thanks man:)
Man I would love to hear this Amp in a mix.. these tones are just amazing. Fantastic playing as always
Hey thanks, Chris! I need to get something recorded or sure
Sounds great Matt 👍. Glad to see the amp in the hands of a real player!
Dude for real this amp is insane. It'll see a ton of shows. Thanks for the keeper!
Killer tone
Right! Thanks man.
Wow Matt! Sounds amazing! Great playing as always.
Hey man thanks, Loren!
Dang. Sounds really good.
Thanks man. I'm digging it a lot. I've never had an amp like it, actually.
Lots of clean power there. Definitely pro level stuff.
Yeah man I still love this thing:)
@@MattSpinksI’m just gobsmacked by the clarity and headroom of the signal. Great playing too. 👍 I’ve heard it said the Strat is the great unsung hero of clean country licks and I did notice Andy Summers later favored the Strat over his Tele. I’m sure someone will say you need both. 😅
Fantastic tone !!
This amp is crazy! thanks man:)
Great playing. The EMG pickups love finger style playing.
They do! Thanks man:)
I just inherited one of these. I'm looking into maybe changing out the speaker from a Black Widow to something else.
Something lighter lol
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Bucket full of tone with some sizzling playing... fantastic
stellar playing man
Hey man thank you:)
Wow amazing tone!
I appreciate that:) Love these amps:)
@@MattSpinks you are great player. I would enjoy to have you play on a song.
I've been meaning to do a live recording with my band man. Maybe this weekend. Thank you for the support:) @@acecomet
I've watch this video 4 times in the last 2 days and absolutely blow away by the killer tones !!! Wow 👌, great play and great video Matt!
Well thank you! Love that amp:)
Yes! Oh God if only I could play like this.
dang man thanks. This is an old video, haha
@@MattSpinks Yeah man. You have got it down!
It sounds outrageous! Very well played by the way! What modifications does it have?
Hey thanks man:) Well really all we did was swap out the cheapie filter caps for F&T, changed the slope resistor for a bit less mid range, put in JJ tubes, and a warehouse veteran 10 speaker. Just a great little rig:)
Great tone out of that beast….great playing!
I would love to know which emg pickups you have in that guitar?
Hey man:) It's the Vince Gill set up.
And these are NOT stacked humbuckers? I kind of have a thing about not liking pickup hum.@@MattSpinks
they are singles but noiselss@@Uegd67hju
Very soulful playing brother!!! 🔥🔥Is that a warmoth neck? Would you mind sharing the neck specs (profile, radius, nut width etc)? Thanks I appreciate it : )
Hey thanks:) And it is. It's a 59 roundback with stainless medium jumbo (6150) frest, 1 11/16 nut, 25.5 inch scale, roated maple and rosewood. It actually feels a little small to me, compared to other necks with the same carve. I've noticed that warmoth necks, from year to year, with the same "specs, " absolutely never feel the same. For example, my boat neck strat neck from the early 2000's has no v shape at all. NONE. Now the boatneck is a deep v shape. I think you have to play em to see what you're really getting. The other roundbacks that I've played were much more substantial than this one. But I like this one, lol
@@MattSpinks Thanks for taking the time to reply I appreciate it. The 59 roundback is actually the one I'm interested in thanks for letting me know about the inconsistencies lol, hopefully I'll receive a nice one that feels substantial enough. The boatneck looks huge at 1:00" across, maybe I'll try it someday. Btw those EMG's sound great : )
@@mikeall2699 that 59 profile is fantastic man. I feel like mine is small for some reason but I've played others that fill the hand just right:)
What the heck is Tomatone? 😅
Fantastic builder here in North Georgia and also the person to whom Gerald Weber sends all of his southeastern United States clientele for maintenance on his stuff. You may have heard of Kendrick amplifiers.
