  • In South Africa, many survivors of apartheid say they have been left out of the truth and reconciliation process. Thirty years into democracy, they are still waiting for reparations. DW News Africa speaks to one of the TRC's former commissioners.
And MONUSCO - the UN's peacekeeping mission in DRC - is pulling out after more than two decades. Our correspondent reports on local security concerns.

"Who will protect the people now? " As if UN has been protecting the people. Let them leave, they are irrelevant

If DRC can tackle internal corruption as well as unite the disparate communities and tribes in its VAST land area, it can do anything.
It could be a superpower in 50 years if it could do this.

I have always marvelled at Nelson Mandela's and Desmond Tutu's capacity for forgiveness during the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and I always thought that it could be a great model for Israel and Palestine. But the truth is that apartheid in South Africa had far fewer deaths than in Palestine, and the TRC model is very unlikely to work there.

I'm not sure forgiveness solves anything. Such as giving money to countries who misbehave.
