I remember a distinct smell of hashish at their concert in the FestHalle in Frankfort, Germany. Still the master of his music and the flute.
Those were the days when the people sitting next to you were either smoking reefer or hash and would pass the pipe or joint to you... but things change...
1975 and the Purple Barrel still has us in a haze, and our only path to sanity is on the Locomofive Breath! 😮
Did some mescaline in 72 and seen JT in Boston Garden never was the same thankfully 😂

Me thinks the Grammys got it right in 1989. Killer version.
Their Grammy win was for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental re: their newest album "Crest of a Knave" not Aqualung. I never considered JethroTull to be either hard rock OR metal!

Lord help me, Tull once had the best pianist/organ player in the world but he was given the boot for some reason. He and Martin wrote this intro, when the others were on a lunch break.

I think it's more the mix than the player. His keys are quite high in the mix.

@@Mel_ilm no. John Evans was fantastic and definitely the best keyboardist Tull ever had, but there is no denying that PJV is amazing.
Trust me the keyboard player didn't exceed his position. Ian Anderson would not have put up with that. He is more than likely just giving the guy the spotlight for a couple minutes
