What did you think of this episode? Do you think Harper was possessed at the end? Comment your thoughts below!
I don't think she was possesed, I think that she used her last grip of sanity/survival instinct to remove her eyes and sever the hold of Cthulu before it was too late.
Now she is forever altered, blessed and cursed with the knowledge of the existence of the elder gods. She can no more return to her previous blissfully ignorant existence as the dead can return back to life.
What an episode!!
I do !!
I do not think she was possessed at the end BUT!!! nobody encounters a lovecraftian horror and is left psychically unscathed. Maybe she will succumb to the elder gods influence and is actually battling for her sanity and soul...nice Video...greetings from a german Lovecraft-fan!
That episode was fucking traumatizing
i reckon she probs got possessed or at least went mad but im pretty sure it aint cthulhu but Kthanid the elder god who is cthulhu twin but has golden eyes who was written and created by Brian Lumley the crazy thing is that kthanid is Said to be as good as Cthulhu is evil meaning she might have left one of the good elder gods imprisoned while someone else in her world is being mad releasing cthulhu meaning this episode can be really dark cus in trying to protect people she might have doomed the world
Hey folks - I’m the actor who played Beaumont in this episode. I’ve seen a lot of conjecture on the ending, and wanted to throw in my 2 cents… in our script, the ending, I believe, described the Elder God finally possessing her body and using it to escape it’s prison. Perhaps that explains the chanting. But, of course, nothing is spelled out so you can interpret it any way you want!
Another bit of trivia: our director, Jerome Chen, also directed Lucky 13 - one of the episodes from S1 of LD&R.
Nice
Congratulations on an amazing episode!

will there be a update on this episode or one time thing.. ? jw
@@earthspirit117 I think it's a one off
When i watched the episode, it crossed my mind that the spider (both big and small) were some kind of mechanism to stop people from reaching deeper into the cave and realsing the being. so the only way she got out is because the traps are ment only to stop people from entering but not from leaving.
there were a tunnel on the other side, they were originally heading towards that tunnel, until the Sergeant decided to see what was hiding in the fortress. That tunnel could have been the way out. rewatch the episode
@@VuongPham-iy8zm I don’t think that’s what he’s trying to say lol he’s right. They were going deeper into the cave without knowing there’s another exit. They weren’t leaving anyway, Cthulhu would have manage to lured them into the fortress. They were bound to die/lose their sanity regardless.
The cave is actually a “city” or was... Now it’s a prison for Cthulhu, the traps are meant to kill anyone from releasing him, aka. Going deeper into the cave
@@angelsantos8459 It doesn´t change the fact that there was a tunnel on the other side, that they(the characters) assumed could have been an exit. Whether it was or not, we won´t know for certain, but it simply means that there was a possibility that you could get out of the place without facing the spiders again, something he alluded to in his comment
Machinations of the Elder Things maybe, the first race of beings to wage war on Cthulhu and the star spawn.
That’s why the spiders were mechanical, because the creators booby trapped it to make sure nobody would make it to him
I completely agree. The robot bugs were nothing more than prison guards, put there by whatever entities imprisoned Cthulhu. I think she cut herself up to keep Cthulhu from possessing her. Her speaking alien language I think can be explained by the damage Cthulhu did to her mind, but he never fully controlled her. She was strong enough to resist and disable herself, but she still had the imprint in her mind
Well we don't know if she succeeded. Her mutilation could have been a futile attempt at stopping him.
@@Illier1 Possibly, but why did she still have the knife with her blood on it? Personally I think it makes the most sense if she disabled herself to keep from freeing him

just imagine how powerful was the entity (or group) that imprisoned Cthullu in this hole. That would make 5 whole seasons.
must be some type of Godzilla or Kong..
Well, in lore, he is the great grandson of the most evil entity in all of existence… Azathoth. But Cthulhu himself is above morality and just possesses evilness, if that makes sense. His power is so great that even in dormancy he is the reason for all human subconscious anxiety and fear. And he can only be released when certain stars align, but these where knocked out of alignment by the elder gods (essentially throwing away the key)
This is all I can remember off the top of my head, I can’t remember entirely how or who put him in prison

I feel like this is actually a really underrated episode ! I think it’s being overshadowed by the likes of Jibaro and Bad travelling (both of which are IMMENSE episodes! ) but this episode is brilliant in its own right ! The ending stayed with me for days after watching it !
the ending was really chilling. just harper quietly mumbling alien language, walking to the sunset, with eyes gouged.
Agreed
Feel you on that one, and it's still chilling
Jibaro was the biggest crap I've ever seen, but Bad Travelling and this one were really good.
It only came out just a 3 days ago lol.
So many people missed seeing that not only were her eyes gauged at the end but she also cut both her ears off to avoid hearing.
@@grimsquad273 wonder if she was speaking evil 🤔
Well that explains why she was mumbling, she cut off her tongue too (speak no evil)
@@HarBosSar you can clearly see her tongue when her mouth is open. Plus whatever she is saying has a "t" in it, which you need a tongue to say...
@@grimsquad273 the English[CC] subtitles say "Harper whispering in alien language"
Fuck I missed the ears 👀
She used her eyes/ears to escape the tomb. Then she realized she kept seeing, and hearing the Eldritch horror after she left the vicinity. There’s is no “escape” from that tomb. Either the spider horrors eat you alive, or reach the end to be mind controlled by the horror. She was able to resist the mind control, but at that point her mind finally shattered realizing there’s no escape. After going mad she carved out her eyes, and cut off her ears (No way she could do that while sane). She still sees and hears the horror inside of her mind. So now she’s wandering the desert aimlessly, likely muttering “Release Me” in Eldritch Horror tongue.
this atleast sounds better than the other theories people were saying
Idk lol
She def got possessed
At the end the subtitles say “Harper mumbling alien language”
I thought she was saying “They come”
@@the1sonder884 Yes
Pretty sure that is not Cthulhu but his brother Kthanid, mainly because of the golden eyes, Kthanid and Cthulhu looks identical except that Kthanid has golden eyes while Cthulhu does not, and the fact that Cthulhu is imprisoned beneath the Pacific Ocean in R'lyeh also points to this not being Cthulhu . Kthanid is a good guy, and one theory I read somewhere(trying to remember where, it was another youtube video about this episode I think) one that I agree with, is that Kthanid is showing them a vision of what Cthulhu intends to do, unless Kthanid is there to stop him, but she misinterpret the meaning of the vison. As to why Kthanid would be imprisoned here, I don't know, maybe one of the Outer God or Great Old Ones managed to do it, anyway, I feel there's too much to point to this not being Cthulhu but his brother Kthanid to be mere coincidence.
Yeah, the location and design made me think it wasn't Cthulu. Had no idea about Kthanid, though. Neat!
Yeah, i am also a little familiar with the cthullu lore and i had the same thoughts.
So if she actually didn't free Kthanid, nothing could oppose Cthulhu then.
Could also be a Star Spawn of Cthulhu. I just never read anything about Cthulhu having a brother and I read all Lovecraft's work :)
@@The.Crawling.Chaos. Kthanid is in the Cthulhu Mythos, but not written/created by Lovecraft himself, but by Brian Lumley. But yes, you're right, it certainly doesn't HAVE to be Kthanid, could be just about anything, creative license and all that :) I just got hung up on the Golden Eyes which is a trait specific to Kthanid.
one of the fallen angels prisoned under the Euphrates
I was shocked by the ending it was crazy.
I assumed Harper fucked herself by not saving that last bullet for herself as she said she would, and that Cthulhu (or the reference to him at least) would have aaaaaall the time in the universe to bend and break Harper into one of his Cultists or freeing her.
I don’t believe Harper cut out her eyes to prevent Cthulhu taking her over or from possessing her - Lovecrafts works often have thier protagonist go irreversibly mad as a result of even glimpsing one of these alien beings in thier full magnitude.
I suspect she was indeed driven insane and gouged out her eyes because she didn’t want to look at Cthulhu anymore, with the alien mumbling being her shattered mind probably repeating “Release Me” in Cthulhu’s Eldritch speech.
Mad respect to Harper for not outright snapping along with her commanding officer the moment they laid eyes on Cthulhu - the willpower on her is very impressive
Exactly lol I’m just confused on how she manage to get out, the exit itself would have taken her a while to reach… but without eye sight and proper equipment due to the giant stairs? Idk the show really made me want more 😂
@@angelsantos8459 There may have been a secret passageway nearby, but its more likely that an unspecified ammount of time has passed and Harper simply wandered out randomly on her own - delirious and insane from her ordeal.
The Spiders would've had little reason to attack Harper as she was of no further use to Cthulhu, and if they were meant to defend the crypt from outsiders so they wouldn't free the Elder Being, the Spiders would have no reason to attack Harper anymore since she's very much gone upstairs and can't hear or even see.
Honestly my favourite episode of the entire new season and really want to see more lovecraftian takes by Love Death and Robots - they've really hit it out of the park with this season, every episode is just gold.
She turned her head right before he took control, that's why she didn't immediately acquiesce
i think she gouged her eyes out cause maybe she thought it was the only way to stop herself from seeing and hearing the visions of destruction and horror if cthulhu were to break free
@@moonrock115 maybe the alien words she was saying were even communicate wjth those creatures to say she was leaving or something
I don’t think the episode ended the way u said it did. First, how would she be able to get out of the tomb with no eyes or ears, it’s fully trapped and there are places u can fall. Second the alien language she was speaking. My take on the episode is that she did release the monster and as a “gift” she wouldn’t have to see or hear the destruction and chaos he would cause. My guess to wat she was saying is maybe a prayer or a phrase to calm herself down. Pretty brutal episode nonetheless, I’d give it a 10/10 and it’s my fav episode from the season.
Really nice and terrifying theory ! I've never thought about this outcome before
This fits better than what the guy in the video says
I‘ll go with this one because the dude in the video rarely looks at the bigger picture while this whole show is exactly about not only looking at the bigger picture but looking behind it 🦕
She could have caused that damage to herself on the way to exit.
@@Imozart0341I I thought so too
I think she managed to got away from it. Bu after exiting the cave from the other exit, she realized it was impossible to not see it, it was impossible to not hear it. So she got rid of her ears and eyes. In the end I think she can still hear it or see it. Victory against Cthulhu is not without a price I guess. So I really don’t think she released it. Otherwise I believe world would look different. Darker, fiery etc…
This episode give me chill's, since the beginning I was getting the vibe of Lovecraft stories, and then boom fking cthulhu appears, what a good episode
It’s episodes like this that we need a part two of 😩
This, the boat one, the ancient civilisation, and my personal favorite.
The future animal dog fight one from season 1
True
Seeing Cthulhu is supposed to make a human go mad according to the lore, which is what happened. I don’t believe she released Cthulhu otherwise there would have been a more concrete hint of that occurring. But what we do get is the known outcome for staring at Cthulhu.
This is suppose to be Cthulhu's brother kthanid
@@anakinskywalker5079 he is just saying that it is neither confirmed nor denied , all these lovecraft nerds taking every detail they see and assuming , when it is all speculation. The team likely took liberties with the design it is not that deep
@@vrochillit is that deep clearly otherwise they wouldn’t leave it up to interpretation for the viewers to guess. Based of the details it’s not Cthulhu because he’s imprisoned under the Pacific Ocean & it has golden eyes so it’s most likely his brother who’s actually good
They waisted all their bullets when they coulda just ran. This episode was almost hard for me to watch, if they had just ran instead of just standing there and firing, not being able to even put a dent in the numbers, they probably would have all survived the tunnels
She was in raged and let off the rounds, by then I think he already was in her head so it might of been a matter of time
Likely Cthulu making her panic and fire blindly at him,the gun was not threat to him except to stop him controling a possible way to escape.

I think this is my new favorite short. So many options left open. I wish we would get full seasons around some of the stand alone episodes!!
Great episode. If you go back and watch the scene you can see Harper is resisting the creature. As she creams "Fuck You!." The creature pulls itself more upright and opens more of its eyes. Its increasing its influence over her. Strong arming her mind. She'd already said she'd shoot herself but used all her ammo so she cuts out her eyes and cuts off her ears. I think the words she is speaking are those of the monster but in the alien tongue because these words are burrowed into her mind... "Release Me."
Yea, idk, I'd rather slit my throat and die on the spot than gouge out my eyes and cut off my ears lol Figure it would hurt less. Great episode btw
Or maybe just jump off the edge like how the other soldier fell off and die with a quick splat instead of a throat slit.

This and Bad Traveling are my favorite episodes. Such work is put for such a short yet awesome video. Nice job for everyone involved.
This is the best episode yet in the entire series. Amazing. Also, some symbols or runes in the chains I think belong to Hastur as the 4-armed statues, one of the most powerful deities in this mythology.
Best depiction of Cthulhu I’ve seen to date. Just incredible. One of favorite episodes of the series (if not my favorite).
This one was by far my favorite out of Season 3.. it was so ominous.. felt almost prophetic in a way.. creeped me out. 👍 I will watch LDR as long as they make them. Amazing show.
Just something I would like to add: that's not Cthulhu! Cthulhu is said to sleep in the underwater city of Ry'leh. The monster of this episode is clearly trapped underground and he's not asleep, just imprisoned. He is certainly a Lovecraftian deity, but not Cthulhu himself.
Ok that doesn’t mean that it isn’t him lol. Animator’s can do what they want

remember that she mentioned shes from rhode island. A reference where HP Lovecraft live his entire life. Maybe it's not just reference but a connection where she's probably a descendant of Lovecraft. Hence she was able to resist the mind control and being a subject to an old one, still tho left her scarred and mad.
Such a brilliant episode!
I was left with loads of questions, but this was indeed an amazing episode !
This episode of LDAR was reminiscent of a Lovecraftian SCP entry 👌
Loved this one. Now THIS is how Eldritch horror is done!
We need a whole series on this
I think the producers jumped to the finish line abit on this one.
I think they’ve intended for it to look like she cut her own eyes out (blade in her hand) for the preservation of humanity, but they missed out a HUGE part on how she got out of the cave without falling or being eaten alive.
I think if Kuthulu was to escape, there’d be more to show this, anything from a black cloud above her to an evil smile on her face etc. But it looks like she’s made the sacrifice and saved humanity.
That was the first conclusion I came to anyways, but when I thought about it, I think the Animation team fast forwarded abit 😊
I think the producers intended for the ambiguity of how she got out of the cave. It leaves you with the uncertainty of whether she succeeded in saving humanity or not. When watching in subtitles she is mumbling in an "alien language", either from going insane or possession. Either way the I think the producers saw more value in an unresolved ending or the "unknown" so to speak.
I love this episode!!!! I want a full movie of Cthulhu!
Fun fact: Harper Was played by Christian Serratos Who also Rosita from The Walking Dead. Susie from Ned declassified school Survival Guide. And Angela Weber From Twilight series. And Selena from Selena the series.
People don't give enough credit to how scarily accurate their gear is to real life tier 1 special operations operators.
Now thats a lot of insight!
Loved this season
Way better than season 2!
@@BrainPilot and it's not even that season two was bad
far from it, with entrances like Ice, pop squad, life hutch and snow of the desert
but this season is just off charts
Played a character in D&D who's name was Charles Napoleon Hastur Hastur Hastur and he was under a geas to say his whole name aloud whenever asked who he was. Woo-boy that made for some interesting encounters.
Very lit ep!! So many questions - who captured it, and what was up w the lichen, for example?? Really great season overall!
I believe she did not release the creature either
The cave is a prison and robots are guards. There should not be other escapes from cave, otherwise it should be guarded too. This means there is no way she can escape. Her escape is a creature "will". Thus I suggest the ending is kind of symbolic stuff. The man without eyes, ears, and maybe tongue(bad stuff) walking towards sunrise(good stuff). She is a messenger of upcoming chaos.
My question is that why is Cuthulu there and not in the ocean because bad traveling would have been perfect for Cuthulu
Exactly! Like why's my Ex chained up
he was imprisoned in this scenario as opposed to sleeping so ig thats why hes not in the ocean
Maybe the desert was an ocean at first thousands of years ago

As soon as I saw the steps the first thing out of my mouth was “I hate to see who uses those 👀”
MY concern is who the fck sealed him there in the first place. Like wtf. Tell me more. Why they left no record of it at all.
That’s true.. I never thought of that!
Why would they leave a record. So anyone interested can find him again?

This one is def in my 3 this season:
1- The very pulse of the machin
2- JIBARO
3- Vaulted Halls Entombed
only a few moments from horror have ever haunted me long after the film is over...this is one of them
I saw a comment somewhere where someone had speculated that the Old God featured in this episode wasn't actually Cthulhu but was actually Kthanid, who is Cthulhus "Brother" who bears identical features to his "Brother" except for one key detail which was the fact that Kthanid has eyes that are a "deep golden colour" and that he "radiates an air of benevolence" which is contributed by the fact that the sergeant tried to free him rather than just off himself, which is typically what happens when people encounter Cthulhu.
This one of my favorite episodes in this 3rd season.
Well if she cut her eyes and ears to evade mind control, she would have done it right at the heart of the tomb, while the attack was happening. Then you would have to wonder how she managed to escape from the cave. Given it was going to be quite a hard climb out of the steps and more spider things to evade. So perhaps she was possessed... but if she was the creature would have directed her efforts on undoing the chain which imprisoned it, given that the spider things were perhaps guardian creatures to prevent the elder thing from getting help.
This big creature was actually the Good brother of Cthulhu. He wanted to be freed to save them from his brother.
You don't know how much a love a good old story where you think it's about one simple seeming story then BOOM! Great Old Ones!
i cant find the credits note where there is wrote "harper was possessed by bound god"...
Anyone got a theory on why the spider things waited to enter the chamber to finish everyone off? Why were they larger than before?
So there seem to be designated areas of protection. 1. The cave tunnels which are protected by the small spider swarm. 2. The main open steps area which are protected by the big rolling spike creatures. It's probable that nothing or no one had made it past the small spiders until that team. That might explain the delay in their attack.
One day a child will walk in, unable to be taken hold of, and just befriend the poor lonely monster. xD
He did take over her mind. He forced her to torture herself because she had no means of freeing him. Remember no ammunition left and no Grenades
By far the best LDR episode.
Such a brutal show! Loved it ❤
This was a great episode 👍
If you’re an enjoyer of thc, I highly recommend watching volume 3 after taking a long T break.
That scene with sarge shooting Beaumont really just fuckin got me...
Harper had to contact the Devil May Cry shop to finish the job.
Does somebody know who were those two random dudes the sarge shot when they reached the tomb?
You're leaving out that after cutting out her own eyes, she was walking away speaking an unknown language, showing she was somehow possessed walking away
It’s obvious the creature wasn’t release. She took both her ears and eyes out to prevent her from being possessed any further.
And she learned an alien language too? I think it ended up controlling her and she released the thing. She tried avoiding it removing her eyes and ears but wasnt enough
And how was she able to speak the alien language explain now!!!
@@jevilz9858 the visions, the madness, the fact that looking into cthulhus eyes can drive you insane and the horrific visions can probably only be escaped by that method, her brain is probably scrambled and probably left her trying to warn anyone she may stumble across but shes insane and can only speak in r'leyain or however its spelled

Cthulhu possesses the mind and those who have seen hlimpses of him go insane so it likely that she escaped then carved herself up because she couldn’t stop seeing and hearing him.
Scp 2317? Anyone? The chains immediately made me think of that.
The Sergeant looked like he was based off of Joe Manganiello, a nod to dungeons and dragon jocks.
because it was Joe Manganiello who voiced him
I'm hoping some of these stories can get expanded to a movie or possibly a show. There so many unanswered questions.
That's interesting, I see a lot of viewers concurring to the view here presented. I'm not sure if that's indeed Cthulhu, and, if it is, if its definition prevents it of using possession. But to me it was very clear she actually didn't avoid its mind control powers, and has released it (by some mean not apparent, maybe she was able to rescue some ammunition from her deceased comrade at the stairs). Then, after possessed, she/it desecrated her body, for she/it didn't need human eyes to see nor human ears to hear anymore. And it/she was repeating the mantra of its empowering presence, slowly but surely walking towards a now doomed humanity. The argument of ripping her own eyes apart in order not to give it control over her seems weak, for she could easily throw herself down the precipice or even cut her own throat to reach this very goal.
Makes sense to cut your eyes and rupture your ear dums to stop hearing The Creature's commands to be released and stop seeing its visions. But I'm guessing that she did this whilst escaping through the entrance she saw (the main path leading to the outside) and not the creature's lair they decided to go when they heard its voice calling to them. She might've been wondering endlessly hearing "release me" and seeing what can't be unseen. Her murmurs to me sound like she's saying " Te Ca thu thu" which to me sounds like "The Cthulu". Giving a name to the horror and trauma and what the people will know the creature by even though The creature itself chanted this so we're unsure of it's true meaning though it could possibly just mean "Release me". This is of course my speculative take: She is found having done unspeakable injuries to herself, none of her team in sight. Just her chanting something. The Cthulu.
I thought she was making noise to use as some sort of echo location amongst her surroundings because she was blind. Then I also realized she had also cut her ears. So...there went that idea.
the mechanical spiders were the good guys all along
I was annoyed by the amount of dumb decisions the characters made. Like talking constantly in the cave when they were trying to be sneaky, or when they try to shoot a million spiders with a fricking rifle instead of running away
So I watched this clip on youtube, it popped up on my insta and someone mentioned cthulu, the thought of this guy scares the shit out of me, cuz I have to drive over a bridge late at night to get home. But what I thought was funny was what came after, I got recommended for the channel the cult of cthulu, and I'm like yall know what happens when this mf rises right? It's the end of the world, people kill others en mass or go crazy kinda like bird box, if anyone remembers that movie. So seeing this scene sent chills up my spine, because just how they animated cthulu probably has been one of the best takes I've seen so far.

Thought the ending was a long the lines of the old saying "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil"
Securing the hostage was the mission, and the fire team leader wanted to push inwards against an unknown weapon of utterly DECIMATING nature?
Fuck no, that's how officers get fragged and I do not think any of those other five would've ignored ALL fucking reason to fail at doing their mission for his ego.
Her last words are the first words spoken by the monster before he began to speak English. Humans are nothing compared to the Ancient Ones, and even if they lost their senses, they would be unable to resist the monster's control. So I think the Ancient One had her eyes and ears cut out and released her for others to find. The rest would wonder what happened and follow her lead. This way there is a greater chance that someone else will find the Ancient One's prison.
I think the Ancient One realized that this little creature wouldn't be able to break his chains. So how do you attract attention and attract others to his prison?
This serie is so great
Favorite episode of all the volumes.
No mortal survives an encounter from Cthulhu unscathed.. I believe her mind is broken beyond repair, chanting something on the lines of "Cthulhu"
What I wonder.. at least in Love, Death + Robots adaption is.. what power, what thing, god or creature was able to subdue Cthulhu.. and why Earth of all places!?
I also understand Cthulhu a mate (Idhyaa) and children.. If they came to free Cthulhu... Would the power/god/creature(s) return to stop it from happening?
I think one thing not thought about with these visions is that it could be possible people physically feel these visions, IE pain
Harper looks like Rosita from The Walking Dead.
Good eye! It’s because Harper is voiced by Christan Serratos, the actress who plays Rosita on The Walking Dead
i taught about that to hhaha
i like the other way this episode is told with this not being cthulhu, but Cthanid, cthulhu's good brother, that is identical to cthulhu, only diffrence that Cthanid has deep golden eyes. and is imprisoned in a crystal cave, while cthulhu is held captive somewhere in the ocean.
If those chains are strong enough to hold down Cthulu, then how the hell were those two soldiers going to free him? With the captain's crappy little grenade? They had no cutting equipment, and even if they did, I doubt it would work anyway.
The visuals were great, but the story was too ambiguous to really follow. Too many things happening in such little time. Instead of being mind-blown (like I was during 'Jibaro'), I finished the episode asking a dozen "why" questions. 6.5/10
imo, that is Kthanid, Cthulhu's "brother" cuz it has gold eyes and Kthanid is a benevolent elder god aka a good elder god
I've heard the voice of the guy that gets called donkey I just don't know where from I'm trying to figure it out
I feel as though this one episode can become a whole series
Lovecraft vibes
I got major Even Horizon vibes from this ending.
This is actually Kthanid, Cthulus brother. They are described as being identical except that Kthanid has glowing yellow or gold eyes and is "good". Just look up Kthanid and you will see.
He didn’t seem very good
Can’t help to think the creature was the fallen Angel below the Nile’s river that’s currently being dried up. Especially when it shows it destroying cities. Killing probably 2/3’s of humans in the world
I sorta liked it in one sense but I didn't like other statements that were made by Harper such as "God is dead embrace the suck"
People keep saying its Cthulhu its not. Most people dont now much about Eldritch mythos outside of Cthulhu and that ok, but one it cant be him because he is Asleep in Ry'laya a city underwater, two if he was awake be being a Great old one the entire continent would feel the insanity of his presence, and finally we know WHO is locked away because the woman is chanting his name at the end. If you listen you hear her chanting Ythogtha..Ythogtha is a son of Cthulhu that was...Locked away be his father.
