Getaway Pinball Tachometer Mod 5: Optimization and Installation

Design, implementation, and integration of an automotive tachometer modification for my "The Getaway: High Speed 2" pinball machine. This is part 5 of a multi-part series. Part 1 described the concept, circuit design, and multiple phases of prototyping the tachometer control circuitry. Part 2 described integration with the circuitry of the pinball machine. Part 3 described schematic and printed circuit board (PCB) development using the DesignSpark PCB software application. Part 4 described modifications to accommodate a new tachometer, populating the PCB, and bench testing. Part 5 describes completion of the mod, including playtesting, software optimization, and installation.
