Getaway Pinball Tachometer Mod 6: Demonstration

Design, implementation, and integration of an automotive tachometer modification for my "The Getaway: High Speed 2" pinball machine. This is part 6 of a multi-part series. Part 1 described the concept, circuit design, and multiple phases of prototyping the tachometer control circuitry. Part 2 described integration with the circuitry of the pinball machine. Part 3 described schematic and printed circuit board (PCB) development using the DesignSpark PCB software application. Part 4 described modifications to accommodate a new tachometer, populating the PCB, and bench testing. Part 5 described completion of the mod, including playtesting, software optimization, and installation. Part 6 concludes the series and shows the tachometer in action.

Just a quick tip. If you don’t want to have to put coins in every time you play, you can go in the settings and enable “free play”.

No, unfortunately not. The parts I used back then are no longer available. Maybe someday I’ll redesign it to use modern parts. I’ll post an update if I do.
