    Spot on. I was having trouble doing full 9i swings, but having a ball doing 3/4 9i swings just yesterday. I was wondering to myself whether I was really going to get anything extra for the extra effort. Better I think to get my 3/4 swing nailed down for the short irons.

    You have resurrected my game. I'm shifting my weight on all shots and visualizing the "pulling back the bow" image you always talk about. I was a solid player when I was younger and lost it sometime over the past few years. Now, this middle-aged dad is back!

    I tend to try to max hit all my irons with mixed results. I think 3 /4 approach makes a lot of sense. Less effort , better control. ❤

    Am i crazy or would i want to do this with all the clubs in my bag? Not just 7i and up. I have a habit of bending that lead arm this tightens it right up! Great video!

      I’ve tried and the long the club the harder it becomes. I find it definitely helps on approach shots from 150 and in but any longer and I struggle. Not sure why but I think because I need more club head speed with longer irons to flight them properly.

    hey, love the channel. quick question on the swing you advocate - covering the ball, knockdown, visualising smacking down on it - does that result in more of a cut/ out-in swing path? if so, do u then play around with the grip (stronger / weaker) in order to present a club face that eliminates slice or hook?

    Great job coach ! I watched almost all your videos but I couldn't find one where you give details about what exactly happens from hammering the nail to impact. That is, the release of the golf club? Can you Yelp me 🙏. Always the best for you and your team from 🇦🇷.

    Self taught 5 hcp, started golf at 50 therefore thought i had to put a lot of effort into turning,But i overturned in many different ways for many years!
    As a former good sportsman i had caveman arms which aggressively started the swing then turned,everyone with a lower hcp than me at my club learnt as weak kids,used big muscles in a soft fluid fast way to get heavy club moving
    Sequencing/resisting, keeping weight on balls of feet for longer ie dont rotate early etc are the Keys, in fact the only turn i now feel is through the ball and up probably after contact!
    Most golfers try to stop the hit at the ball instinct by turning, But this just makes you turn inside and still hit at it !ie OTT

      PS just watched this great video.listen and learn, for me the key is how he moves away from the club,looks like his left/lead arm is the last to move,most will have whipped it away early
      But the outcome is the shaft gets loaded, then unloaded at impact,he hits through impact with the whole length of the club ie not throwing or hitting the clubhead at the ball

    When a pro hits a 3/4 swing, do they shorten their turn at all? Or is it only a feeling to keep the arms connected?

    The issue most golfers have is inconsistent contact. One shot will be pretty good, next shot will be thin, next fat, next pretty good, next fat again, etc. This lesson only applies to golfers who can hit that ball flush every time.

    How much shorter will the distance be when using the 3/4 swing?

    • @PorzakGolf
      @PorzakGolf  Před 3 měsíci +3

      It shouldn't lose distance at all! For most people, it should actually gain distance because it creates a more efficient swing!

      I struggle with the mind process of not rotating as far back as I can with my chest and just full send with every club, even when I “try” to shorten, I go back and watch the film and my arms are way past my body. It’s crazy how you always seem to post the exact video I need to work on with my game. 🥰

    I’m sorry to correct you sir, but as an engineer, a penny dropped from the 3rd and 4th floor will hit the ground at the same speed (4th not harder) because they will both reach terminal velocity. I know you were trying to use this as an analogy but it’s technically incorrect to say the 4th floor penny will hit harder 🙂

    • @ivory733
      @ivory733 Před 14 dny

      Hey another engineer here, I am sorry to say you are actually mistaken in this case. As a fellow engineer facts are important. It takes a penny about 50 feet to reach terminal velocity and 3 stories is less then 50 feet and 4 stories is just at or right below 50 feet. So he was actually correct in saying that a penny dropped from 3rd floor is slower than one dropped at the fourth floor. Fourth floor penny would be closer to terminal velocity then the 3rd floor penny. But yes terminal velocity would come into affect for a penny dropped from the 7th floor and 8th floor or 9th and higher, all those would be the same speed at impact. Just wanted to clarify that his example is correct because of the floors he mentioned.
