The lead-up to Eurovision 2022 has begun! The countries that are representing in this year's contest have already started to select who they want to send to Turin.
Australia Decides 2022 has just selected Sheldon Riley to represent Australia at this year's Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy with the song "Not the Same".

my winner of the entire national final season and of the selected songs too. i bet it’ll be my winner once all the songs are out. the emotion in the song is crazy and the lyrics are so relateable for me. love the message. ive been sheldon’s fan since 2020 and have been waiting for him to participate and i’m so glad he’s living his dream!!

So many reactors commenting on staging, voice, not many are listening to his words, Sheldon is coping it for being too emotional, but if you know his story and listen to the words you understand why.
Sheldon is very dramatic, he went to Americas Got Talent saying Americans understand him so much better than people in Australia. I saw him perform in Australia on The Voice and people were very supportive of him, so I dont get why he would say that on Americans Got Talent. He has a great voice, but I have heard better songs than this. S10 with De Diepte is higher on the list of people who predict winners on Eurovison. S10 song is about mental health and depression, so she has a good message as well.
Australia is the best for me in this year. Sheldon has amazing vocals and emotions that I haven't seen in many performances. Australia my heart is with you!
Poland and Australia is the one to watch in this competition this year for me
Utter goosebumps with the song and his voice! The fans in the background were very unnecessary though but I’m sure it’ll look awesome in Turin. I feel like a revamp will also give this the final little kick that it needs!

I actually preferred Voyager's Dreamer which came 2nd (hope you can react to that) but I think Sheldon will do very well at ESC.
It was such a close final. I personally loved Voyager who reminded me of The Presets - The boys in love. But those who don’t think this doesn’t deserve winning 🥇are sadly mistaken. I think people need to listen his story about the song but I would recommend watching him perform other songs. I was left speechless by his performance of Kylie’s song can’t get you out of my head. The voyagers actually did a cover for This Boys In Love by The Presets. It was amazing.

at minute 4:10 you finally... realize what s this song about... finally....
He will do the final for sure but i'm afraid there's a big gap between judges and public vote ... judges love men able to hit high notes easily like Gjon's Tears so he would be in their top 3 but the public doesn't give that much votes to Australia for a geographic reason

@@jazzycat8917 ok Dami finished 2nd but 1st of judges and 4th of public vote with more than 100 points of difference, which is a big gap ... and she was a huge favourite with Lazarev, when Sheldon is a contender but not a potential winner for now, even it can change

@@mysticfortunee3410 yes ... when i say "geographic" it's bc Australia is not only out of the European continent but also very far from us so a lot of voters consider they shouldn't have the opportunity to participate so they don't vote for them which is sad ... and i think it's in Germany not UK if i'm not wrong

@@marshmelows I get that part, but why mention “ a Lazarev”? Johnny Logan won first place twice in the 1980s and Katja ebstein won third place in 1970 and 1971.
@@tommay6590 Tom, we're talking about repetition here. Mahmood can only repeat a second place. He can't repeat a first place for obvious reasons. But I'd like either Mahmood or Sheldon to win :)
