Cool thing about the Haka; it's a war dance. And whenever they stick out their tongue, it's a warning to the enemy. It's like saying, "Not only am I going to beat you. But I'm going to eat you after." 😮😮😮
Guys! Chill! Sometimes a Samoan will play a Maori or an American will play a Mexican. It's called ACTING. The title of the clip is wrong, not the film or actors.
It's not Dwayne Johnson's fault that the caption says Samoan though, to be fair. His dad is black, his mom is Samoan, and he lived for a good chunk of his childhood in New Zealand, where Haku comes from. The family later returned to his mother's home Island of Hawaii. So the dance is part of his culture as it belongs to the Maori people, which are (like the Samoans) a Polynesian people. So while the dance is not specifically Samoan and the caption does need to be changed, they didn't completely get it wrong. It would be better fitting to say Maori or Polynesian.
I remember it from when I was on Maui when I was 7 (family vacation). Never saw anything like it before. Always thought it is amazing & beautiful. I understand why it not only is used as a challenge, but also as a means to show honor, respect, & pride to a loved one.
@@k.d.6068 Samoa doesn’t have a “Haka” as that is a Māori thing. Samoa has the Siva Tau which is kind of similar but there’s a lot of differences between the two.
Guys... The Rock didn't make the movie. They probably wanted a polynesian to do a polynesian war dance, they didn't care that it was different polynesian cultures.
Dwayne Johnson doesn't give a shit as long as it looks cool...he's in the wrong(should of done research)...as a kiwi Samoan I apologise to any Maoris who are watching Unlike Jason mamoa he actually does his research LMAO 💀

The threatening intimidation of the bulging eyes, distorted facial features and the poking of tongues is not of the Samoan culture. This derived from another polynesian culture THE MAORI CULTURE. Which different and specific only to the MAORI PEOPLE OF AOTEAROA NEW ZEALAND
Saw the Maori All Blacks do their Haka before Playing Ireland. A lot of the Irish players looked like the girl at the end of this clip. "I don't want to play anymore" Pretty hard NOT to be intimidated by a dance that basically says "I am going to KILL and EAT you"
Actually I've seen that danced before so in a TV show called Holly's Heroes, any ideas to psych out your opponent and that is apparently what they did, in both shows.
A windscreen wiper (Commonwealth English) or windshield wiper (American English) is a device used to remove rain, snow, ice, washer fluid, water, or debris from a vehicle's front window. Almost all motor vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, train locomotives, and watercraft with a cabin-and some aircraft-are equipped with one or more such wipers, which are usually a legal requirement. A wiper generally consists of a metal arm; one end pivots, and the other end has a long rubber blade attached to it. The arm is powered by a motor, often an electric motor, although pneumatic power is also used for some vehicles. The blade is swung back and forth over the glass, pushing water, other precipitation, or any other impediments to visibility from its surface. The speed is usually adjustable on vehicles made after 1969, with several continuous rates and often one or more intermittent settings. Most personal automobiles use two synchronized radial-type arms, while many commercial vehicles use one or more pantograph arms.
