      chinato I don't know where you got that information from? I know pre European days the family were outside the door while they did their business, but what you claim is NOT a tradition, please don't tell me crap like that is on the internet.

    • @chinato
      @chinato Před 7 lety +5

      Honey, I'm an antrophologist specialized in sex culture. You're talking about the ancient roman tradition of the "tholemaics" (i guess it would be said that way in english). The tholemaics were some chants that were sang by the family and drunken friends in front of the house while the bride and groom were consumating. Those chants took their name after the Talam/Thalam/Thalamus, meaning the "bed" where they had sex and so forth (as a curiosity, the brain region responsible of sleep and dream is called thalamus/hipothalamus because of the same very reason). But that were in the wrongly named by you "pre European days". That's nothing to do with the maori's tradition I talked about in my first contribution. If you don't wanna believe it because of your projecting your own sexual taboos in other cultures... suit yourself; but I should recommend you to have an open mind ;)

    The contrasts of the men doing the ancient Haka with ties and in suit shirts makes it even more impressive. It shows that this tradition will outlast time and space and as long as these people honor the traditions of their ancestors, their ancestors will never die. They are alive in every movement of these men.

      Did you know that the people who choose what is compulsory in schools are the schools themselves? The people who were hit in schools for speaking Mãori back in the days are still alive. The fact that Mãori have persevered in keeping the language alive is astonishing and other cultures who have been through the same as we have are following the lead of Mãori. Until you understand the struggle. And do some research, since English, Mãori and sign language are all official languages of NZ. I suggest you just stop making yourself look like an idiot.

    HAKA is always always awe inspiring. I must say the best Haka given to anyone was the Haka to Bob Marley upon his arrival in New Zealand ❤
