  • This video shows how to retrofit rear speakers and a amplifier subwoofer speaker box to a Peugeot 107 , Toyota AYGO or citron c1 using the original stereo which is made by Panasonic,
    I show all the wiring to the radio and explain which wire goes where, of and the routing of all the cables and how to fit the sub speaker.
    I have another video following this one which goes into the making of the sub box and the internals of the speaker wires.

    very clear and straightforward, especially the tip about using domestic twin cable as speaker cable, i been using it for 30 years now and there are so many mugs out there spending hundreds on huge "oxygen free, made from pure kryptonite" bullshit speaker cable and it makes no difference at all. As long as its fairly chunky you'll be fine and domestic flexi cable is ideal

    Just came here for some inspiration on where to run the wires. lol. I have Sony Head unit with two 55W dash speakers and just ordered an active 1800W active sub for the boot. Which wasn;t easy finding one to fit in the tiny space. lol. Looking at the car today I noticed there was no where to run wires down the sills, as I've done on every amp installation. The carpet seems to be glued down under some rubber trim that is also glued? Anyway, I think I'll do as you did. Through the centre, under the carpet and through the rear panels. I like your idea of the rear speakers in the trim. I never thought of that. I was just going to mount mine on the parcel shelf. But I might re-think that :)

    I am planning on upgrading the standard stereo in my son's C1 by changing the dash speakers and installing a little under seat active subwoofer, so I have found this video very useful. Thank you. However, I was hoping that you could clarify one thing for me. Which pin on the ISO A connector did you use for the remote switch on wire? You said the white wire, but we don't appear to have a white one. Did you simply use pin 4, which I believe is the ignition switched live? I would prefer to only power it up with the stereo, so was thinking that I could use the electric aerial live feed (pin 5 I believe). But... (1) Does the standard stereo actually provide a live feed through this pin? (2) If so, is this live regardless of selected source, or only when the radio tuner is the selected source?

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  Před 5 lety

      I used the ignition live, I like this as it stops the amplifier being powered up if the engine is off causing a battery drain, the radio can still be used at a low power drain in auxiliary position on the ignition switch, personnel preference only 👍🏻thanks for the great comments 👍🏻🚗

    • @SilentBob74
      @SilentBob74 Před 5 lety

      @@aaanton11 Thanks for the quick reply. I figured it'd be the ignition live, so would I be right in saying that this is pin A4 (I believe the two lives are swapped round vs ISO default)?
      I had hoped to take it a step further such that for the amp to power up both the ignition AND the stereo itself would need to be switched on. So with engine running, switching off the stereo would also switch off the amp. So do you know if the electric aerial pin on the standard stereo would work as desired for this?

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  Před 5 lety

      The electric aerial pin is fed from the radio, so could be used to power up the amplifier, but won’t be any good at feeding the radio itself 👍🏻👍🏻

    • @SilentBob74
      @SilentBob74 Před 5 lety

      @@aaanton11 I fitted these bits last week and can confirm that the standard stereo does NOT deliver power over the power antenna pin, meaning that this could not be used as a remote switch for the powered sub. :( I had to instead go for the ignition switched live. It all works, but just means that the amp will be powered up when the ignition is on regardless of whether the stereo is switched on or not.

    Hey, hello there. I want to upgrade the radio and speakers too. Here I have, by default, an Aygo with a total of 4 speakers (2 front + 2 rear) and 2 pillar tweeters. I'm not sure about the total number of audio-outputs that I should keep in mind when buying a new radio.

    • @aaanton11
      @aaanton11  Před 4 lety
