I had to chuckle watching that creek crossing. I have done so many wet foot crossings and portages canoeing and backpacking that I tend to just tromp across without considering the consequences. Probably wiser to pack water shoes though. Maybe we both should!
Haha yeah it really wasn’t that bad. Water was surprisingly low. My brother in law actually gave me water shoes for Christmas. Did I bring them? Of course not 😂
I live in Poplar Bluff, been to both places. Now i feel as if my GF and i need to do this hike. Just recently found your channel, it has encouraged my GF to get more into hiking with me. Btw if your looking for a good spot for the eclipse, we are having a viewing party @ The Dirt Shack in downtown Poplar Bluff. Its an organic gardening supply shop. Live music and a cornhole tournament. Keep the great content coming and see ya on the trail sometime.
Really appreciate you sharing this with me. Makes me feel pretty cool these videos are inspiring you and your GF to get out and hike more. Definitely check this trail out. It’s great. Thanks for the suggestion about the eclipse. The Dirt Shack sounds like a cool spot
TBH I haven’t thought about it really. Last eclipse we went to a family farm in New Haven. It was a pretty awesome experience. Your kids are going to love it!
question; i’m thinking about taking 2 of my older gbabies camping mid May they’re 6 and 8 yrs old would u think this would be a safe and fun camping spot. i also LOVE ROCKHOUNDING! What is ur take on there as a good spot. ? if not could u give me some suggestions plz. ty bunches!!🐼 😁
Hi! Thank you for watching. This is a beautiful trail and one that I think your gbabies could easily accomplish. There are several backcountry camp sites along the trail, which are part of the Ozark Trail. The first is by Rocky Falls itself, just across the creek, and the second is a half mile down the trail at the second Rocky Creek crossing. They are noted on my AllTrails map here (www.michaelshepherdjordan.com/hiking-missouri/hiking-rocky-falls-shut-ins-to-klepzig-mill-in-missouri). Rock hounding isn't my forte so I'm not the best authority on that, but this trail offers a waterfall and 2 shut-ins so I'm sure you will come across some interesting rocks. Happy trails!
So glad I got the chance to complete this hike! 🤙
Wow amazing sharing great hiking 👍👍👍👍❤

I own trees farms near to those sites. 😊
Very cool! What kind of trees do you farm?
I’m named after my great grandmother’s maiden name which is Jordan.
Nice to meet you Jordan! I’m a fan. 😁
Where are you going for the eclipse? I’m taking the kids out of school for it and am definitely heading down to a scenic location to observe it
