- On my 5th visit to the Philippines I finally managed to go to Boracay. Can you imagine it took that long?! ;) First I layed at a swimmingpool for 3 days just to relax. On the 4th day Bang had time off from work and we explored the island together :D Visiting puka shell beach, white beach, diniwid beach, bulabog beach and ilig-iligan!

--ABOUT MOVENPICK DAYPASS-
If you want to go to Mövenpick on a daypass, you simply go to the reception and ask for day access. It costs 2.000 pesos - which is not cheap. But 1.600 pesos is for food vouchers.
I paid for 1 day for access like this.
The other 2 days Bang used me as a model for some shots to use for Mövenpick themselves, so I got free access to the ground (not free food).

Boracay has one of most beautiful Sunset.
The beach that the Philippine president referred as cesspool a year ago that led to the 6 month closure of the entire BORACAY island was mainly Bulabog beach in the east, the one you mentioned less beautiful . The best beaches in BORACAY were those along the west side and north side. Indeed paradise best beaches in the world. Welcome back to Philippines...
Wow, you finally made it to Boracay, haha! Summer time (March, April, May) is actually not the best time to visit Boracay because it's super busy & crowded plus it's usually around this time when the algal bloom actually occur, even before when Boracay was not yet developed. The locals say the algal bloom in Boracay was a natural occurrence during summer that only got worsened by the developments in the island. But I can see in your video that it's much better now with less algae on the beach even during this summer time especially on White Beach where they used to have a lot. The green algae usually completely disappears after summer and then you'll be able to see and experience the sparkling waters & impeccable beaches of Boracay. You should have walked to the other end of Puka Beach past those boats and rock formation and you'll be even more surprised of its beauty. The rehabilitation of Boracay is still ongoing and now on its 2nd phase. I hope you can visit Boracay again in the future when all the construction works are done although it's completion may take another year or two, haha! I miss the spectacular sunsets of Boracay! The sunsets in Boracay are kinda different everyday but still beautiful anyway!

I first when to Boracay in 1996. The White Beach is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my entire life. Clearest waters, clean white sands, blue skies, healthy palm trees, beautiful sunset. I woke up at 8am to take a dip at the sea and I was surprised, I have the entire 4km beach all to myself. Truly paradise! So sad that it is not as beautiful as before.

@@TravelGretl Good thing you found the hidden gems, Guimaras and Siargao. They're pretty close, but not as beautiful as Boracay back in the day.

They went to a bunch of really awesome places off the beaten path.

You should have seen Boracay in mid 1980’s. The white sand is as bright as snow. Back then the people who came are mostly European backpackers. Only a few houses have electricity, and tourists stays in nipa huts. Later nigi nigi nu noos became one of the first foreign owned resorts there.

Dang didnt kno u were here in the philippiness . I recommend u to try jomalig island in quezon province they have like 6 or 5 beaches . But the boat ride get there is 6 hrs so yeahh

I really liked ilig iligan :) but to be fair: chilling at the resort and beach was also very much what I needed!!! Just not what I could afford 😉

Private beach? I thought all beaches in the are public property and nobody can own a beach? so anybody can go and nobody has the right to drive you away?
Not sure, there are some beaches I believe are owned by the resorts and you can only reach them by passing through their property!
