Only two off of the top of my head is Coulthard's Bathurst Rollover and Ambrose having a blowout while still chasing his first win ever in the lead at Pukekohe in 2001. Otherwise, great content!! 😁

why so many Tyre blowouts on the Phillip Island ???
as2552as Because it's really tough on tyres. That and this year's tyres were complete dog shit.
High speed long radius corners. I think they also tend to set low tyre pressures to assist with tyre life and/or car performance.
It's a high speed track and long fast corners, which puts more load on the tyres and they can't handle it.
That year's tyres were terrible. Dunlop had a terrible run for a couple of years, but that year was the worst. Bathurst was outright dangerous and one Dunlop Series (the lower category) driver was killed in an accident that began with a tyre failure.
