Season Two, Episode Seven - 5 Apr. 1981
To the envy of Granville who has never attended one,Arkwright is taking Nurse Gladys to a wedding and has taken his old suit out of moth-balls, but it still reeks of camphor. Nurse Gladys makes him hang it out of the car window as they drive along but the trousers end up under a tractor's wheels. Thank goodness Nurse Gladys is wearing a trouser suit.

The scene around the table near the end was one of the most masterful pieces of comedy ever . The deliver and timing absolutely spot on . The sheer lenght of the clios shows how in tune the actors were with each other . How they never died laughing is beyound me .

Lol. You sure the writers of "Open All Night" dreamed them up as foreigner characters? I mean after all those visitng their store speak with an Australian accent often you now. A lot of Hungarians for awhile were often ending up as British instead too you know. Russians too. Like that one very successful Soviet scientist by the name of Otto Schmidt with a British enough sounding last name to pass as a Brit too. Didn't Otto have chidlren too? As a matter of fact there is now a whole lot of Brits with the last name Schmidt now who are so very western. Almost more western than the cowboys on westerns too you know. I wonder what all the Schmidts and the Smiths along with the Levys, the Levins, the Levines, the Levinsons, the Levitts, the Lewis the Lewin, and the Loewy - and that is only last names starting with the last name L with no place to lay down their head permanently you know unless it is a guy often outdoors who is not looking for women who are wanted only according to him.

As a foreigner I also find it funny. Mind you because of Tories I have had plenty of laughs at the expence of British... But then people here in Finland elected an even dumber government. Haven't been able to afford to laugh at the British after that. Heck because of our government many people can't afford a lot of things any more.
