      The next day you have to use a power washer. And you better cover it with plastic

    In Seattle we just use sugar water. And everyone washes the same day... all of the track homes here are exposed. Its the only way you can keep a schedule here with all of the rain.

    All depends on how you like to do it. I used to do it this way but I personally like to spray aggersol on it cover it and let it sit till next day because whenever I would spray it same day I would often have some small rocks pop up and I didn't like it.

      It's all about timing. I washed next day for years. I prefer to wash the same day, especially in the heat.

      Yessir back in the 80s we always used sugar water. Could come back next day with a stiff broom and expose. Way better and cheaper than chemicals

    Some sugar water or bottle of coke in a spray bottle works great for this. Super easy removal

    in the pnw we use water and cane sugar, wash same day. some guys use coke or mtn dew

    I've never waited for the next day to do it. I've always sprayed the same day. Having small aggregate popping out is due to different facts. Most common mistakes is the timing of the spray, and the quality of how you laid the aggregates from the beginning.

    Hey Rick, can you give us an idea on how many square feet that was and how much control set did you spray on it?
    I haven’t done one in about 25 years, and I had to use a fine horse hair broom to scrub it.

      This was roughly 300sf. I just spray enough to turn the surface pink and make sure there is no concrete showing

    We would wash off with a hose for most small pours 10 to 15 yards anything over that we used a pressure washer to speed things up. If you spray it and cover at the right time you can wash the next day with a hose. Just don’t uncover to much at once

    Looks like a man with a push broom or squeegee ahead of you would help speed up the process by pushing the heavy stuff out of the way. Just a thought

    I was taught the 80s way. No surface retarder. Soft wash. Start out with sponges n light water pressure. N increase as needed. I also hand seed. But yours wat is lot easier n more controlled I bet 😊

    The only you can do it same day because that pressure fromva garden hose is nowhere compared to a pressure washer which most companies rather use when doing this type of finish

Never did it cause the thought you might make holes because next day you can have that power washer directly on it and it wont create a whole and you go inch by inch than you get a even layer on top no cream spots just rocks than after clean it with meratic acid its like 10-1 that will get extra dirt and stuff off and youll see the difference in shine on those rocks when you seal it.

      There's a whole slew of chemicals we use in concrete that are bad for you. I wouldn't even know where to start. Then you got the dust from cutting, breaking and grinding. There's more but l don't want to discourage anyone from experiencing the joys of concrete work.

      Use a product called regersol to wash the next day but I'm not a fan of that method..
