      Not nice because your entire dash will be destroyed. Actually if they're stealing your radio they don't have to remove the whole thing all they have to do is break the plastic around it.

    Thank you for your video. It was really helpful and who knew so much had to come off just to take out a cd player. Sadly I found out after doing all this that sonatas are the worst for cd players and the new one didn’t go in well or fit but doesn’t matter btw people I would allow a good 1-2 hours. The bit above the Speedo is the worst

    Do you have a wire diagram for the speaker wires? It's really hard to find anything online as far as the colors for all the speaker wires. Thanks

    That is unreal how easy you make removing the climate control look. I'm becoming fatigued from just trying for half an hour and I can't even really continue anymore.

      @@connectedcaraudio Yes I was using that tool. Thank you for responding. I finally got it, but man that was in there. I'm now trying to figure out which wire on the two harnesses behind the stock stereo is power and ground. I keep trying the red and black wires but can't get my aftermarket deck to turn on no matter what I do. I'll get it eventually. Thanks for the video

    All this for a radio?? You just basically removed the entire front dash. Why is the center console attached to the steering wheel assembly?

    Sweet Jesus all this to get the infotainment system out? I was thinking about switching out the factory stereo to a more modern one that has apple carplay/android auto. Now I don’t I will, unless I can find a professional to do it at a good price.

      You can buy a line output converter to connect to your rear speaker outputs so you can get rca outputs for an amplifier

    Does anyone know of a aftermarket radio that is compatible with the steering wheel control, I have a 2017 sonata se with the cheap stereo(not touchscreen)and I want to upgrade it to touchscreen badly but will hate to lose the use of the steering wheel control and bluetooth functionality? thanks in advance

      I have the same vehicle. I got a Dual DMCPA70 and bought a PAC SWI-CP2 Steering Wheel Control Adapter to retain some of the steering wheel buttons. Everything works except the speak button on the left side.

    How can I swap this 8-inch touch screen into the base model (5-inch touch screen) head unit? since it has a little different harness. since I see that the trim you have doesn't come originally with this stereo and you've replaced it.

    Well, maybe this is a silly question, but, How do I update the maps in this stereo-gps navigator unit? I have a Sonata 2016 and I have no idea how to update the maps. I have watched some videos here and there and they talk about to remove the SD Card from the navigator unit, but I don't see any slot. I will appreciate your help, guys! Greetings from Mexico.

      If it doesn't have a slot for a card you don't have navigation. But you can connect your phone and display google maps on the headunit.

    Did you remove this screen/radio unit just for an upgrade or were there issues with the unit? I have a 16 sonataSE with a screen stuck in reboot. The screen turns off every ten seconds then automatically turns back on. I can't change my clock, use Android Auto, change any sound settings, etc. Have you ever seen this issue? If so, did it have an easy fix? Thanks!

      @@goated_x_glc8757 I ended up buying a used radio/screen off ebay(nobody near me had one) and replacing the whole assembly. With the right tools to remove the dash, it wasn't too difficult to do!

      That happened to me too and randomly turning the car on one day a reboot bar popped up as if I caught an update somehow waited for it to load and it started working after that.

    My radio looks different than that the cd inlet is placed in a different spot and the volume knob is different as well it's a touch screen radio and it come factory like that and it's a 2015 sonata

    Does anyone have any good recommendations for a quality replacement? I'm about to replace the head unit on my 2015 and I'd like to know if anyone knows about a good one with the same functionality but top quality sound.

      I would never lose all my buttons by changing the factory head unit. The reliability of factory is so much better. The quality can be improved by adding amplifiers.
      Keep the head end.

      Also be cautious if you are going to put a double din make sure it would fit for the aftermarket dash kit mine didn't fit and basically spend 300 bucks on nothing since the company wouldn't refund

      +coffeeis4closers I use a panel removal tool that is plastic Infused with fiberglass. It also has a non marring surface. Company called bojo makes them

      I have a 2016 Sonata and the radio would get stuck on the "welcome Hyundai" screen...then if I would wait two minutes...restart the car...the screen would play normal. Now the screen is just blank. I hit the reset button amd nothing changed. A diagnosis is $89.00, and the dealer said it would be $2,800 to replace it if it went out...

      @@snlkrd5200 Ooooooooh I was happy and pissed at the same time. I made an appointment to get it done. It had been 2 to 3 weeks it was out. One day I stopped by someone's house and when I left, I put the car in reverse, checked my camera and slowly backed up, then I hit dry brakes...how in the hell did I check my camera, all of sudden everything started working properly....but thanks.
