Hi everyone!
That is my Mom in this clip, Vicki Trickett, she played Abby, Gidgets friend. she had a stroke about 6 weeks ago and it doesn't look good, basically on life support. She had an amazing life and I'd just like a small prayer for her to "Be at Peace". After 4 movies in the 60's and several TV shows ( she was Ricky Nelsons girlfriend for a bit) she went on to teach high school for 25 years,Then retired. Thanks to all who read this!

cheddar hi, I loved your Mom in this she was amazing one of my favorite lines was telling her father the bathing suit was dry clean only! Lol the look on her face when Jeff asked her to call him Moondoggie! She is in my prayers cheddar I lost my Mom it doesn't make things easy. God Bless and Keep you both. Margaret

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. I had the extreme fortune of having her for a teacher in 1976. She taught "How The West Was Won". It was the best, most interesting class I have ever attended. I still remember a lot of the things she taught us in that class. She made it so interesting-and I was not easy to keep interested in school. She also used to throw in a few great stories about her movie days. Very special lady.
I liked the old movies where life looked fun. Thanks for posting this piece.
Thank you, I will read this to her on Mothers Day.She doesn't have much to do, still has a feeding tube, her throat is still paralyzed, it's very sad. It's good to know she made a small difference, that's why she became a teacher in the first place.

It's funny how they talked about Gidget and Jeff doing the nasty when films these days, they do. I miss the innocence of the old classics.
Its sad that Deborah Walley (Gidget) died 2001 at 59. She lived in the beautiful Sedona, Ariz

I agree, Ms Trickett was beautiful in the film. She was perfect in the part of the torn female, good friend/jealous friend. I hope at the end, when she was dragged into the ocean, they only had to film it once. She screamed like she meant it :-) My thoughts are with her. I always wondered why I never saw her in other films.

I love this movie. We my group of girls on Hung with we're all like Sandra Dee. Sandra was a pure honest little girl and we all were like that I love the movies cuz all of the guys were gorgeous and they were so much better than the guys today thank you gidget movie

Joby..the cute one who needs to learn the "geripp" lives in Southfield, MA and paints. He's 83 and I adore him and we have the same white hair now.

Deborah Walley was a terrific Gidget. She had an athletic, tomboyish quality that the real surfer girls have.
Michael Callan passed on not too long. Very talented, good looking, but his career never hit the heights. I'm certain back in the day he was more popular.

@cheddarjojo , I'm sorry to hear that about your mom. She's in my prayers and I hope things get better for her. I love this movie and she was so great in it. Glad to know she's had a great and fufilling life.
An R-rated scene was left in the movie. When Gidget goes out to (I forget) either water ski or surf she falls off and needs to be rescued. When hauling her into the boat one of the rescuers grabs her breast and lifts her into the boat. She didn't complain. At least not on camera. Quite racy for way back when.
What ever happened to Michael Callan's career?
