- In this video, we try out Meguiar's Keep Clear Headlight Coating on Andrew's 2009 Toyota Highlander. Meguiar's says applying this coating to your headlights once a year will keep them from getting "hazy" or turning "yellow".

I have been using this product since 2018 and I can say it defiantly has worked. With that being said I used it on brand new headlights and they still look like new. They are not kept in the garage,
Thank you for watching! I’m glad you have had success with this product!
Does it dry like a clear coat on the headlight lenses where there is actually a coating on them?
Have seen a product called Plexus used by S. Kilmer, you spray it on and wipe, but not a hard coating.
Yes it dries like a clear coat, but you cannot tell that there is a clear coat on the headlights. I hope that answers your question! Thank you for watching!
One heavy coat is the way to go. Never double coat regardless of what they say! And the results always depend on your prep work and attention to detail.
Thank you for watching and commenting!
Does this work? I polish my headlights once a year now.
@@TinoushGTRthe best thing to do is get a clear headlight film. That will keep your headlights clear the longest.
@@TinoushGTR a clear headlight film is the way to go.
@@andrewphilshow yep. Exactly what I'm going to do.
Used the harbor freight headlight abrasive disc set and sprayed with this meguires spray. The headlights look new.
Thank you for watching! I’m glad it worked for you!
I don't know if you sanded them and then compounded them before .... it helps been doing this for years now and they still look new I have an Acura Integra DC2 with the wide head lights.
Thank you for the advice! Cool car to! I had a 1987 Integra! Wish I didn’t get rid of it!
Thanks for the info Andy 🙂
Remember, that God loves YOU! ❤️
Thank you!
Is this just a clear coat paint or something else? And what happens if you overspray onto your paint? Can I use this after wet sanding? Thanks.
Yes you can use it after wet sanding. It’s a headlight clear coat that if you use yearly, will prevent your headlights from “yellowing” from UV Rays. If it oversprays onto your paint, it will look like a clear film on your paint. That’s why I tape up around the headlights with painters tape to prevent that from happening.
You can clay bar the excess off. If you catch it quick enough, 91% isopropyl alcohol on a micro fiber will remove over spray.
I have used this product many times, What's more over sprayed more than once no problems, It will not harm the car panels in anyway!!!!
I’m curious as to how soon one could drive their car after applying the second coat and it’s dry to the touch but not fully cured
Meguiars says it's fully cured after 24 hours.
You can drive in 15 minutes
What are some methods you may know to keep your headlights looking clear?
Wd40 every week 🤣
Much easier and faster than polish every month 😪
@@eze8024 what’s easy to do is also easy NOT To do
Spar urethane worked for me for 4 years. 2k clear coat should last 10 years. I'm going to try spraying 303 protectant every month, as clear coating has the potential to fog your headlight if you don't apply and polish it correctly.
Check out the headlight restoration pro, he’s way better and actually understands headlights.
@@ctrlaltdebug not the correct way at all ;)
Should I use this on my brand new car? Do I need to sand it down first? When reapplying every year, does it need to be sanded down/polished?
I would not, I would use a clear UV protective film. It will work way better!
Yes..no...no
Is that a special paint ?
It’s headlight clear coat. Apply it once a year and it will prevent your headlights from getting hazy.
over spray on your vehicle?
I did not get any since I taped up the headlights.
Taping just the rim does nothing to protect your car from overspray. It only works for something like paint where there’s no chance of overspray as it’s not a mist. For correct application of overspray protection please refer to below link.

So you used the Meguiars Plastx to restore it and then you used the Clear Coating to keep it clear. Does that sound about right?
That’s correct!
@@andrewphilshow Thank you sir.
@@sterling18 my pleasure!
I did just that. Made my crystal clear KIA Forte headlights foggy. Great job.

Lol. What's the tape for?
So you do not get overspray on the paint of your vehicle.
Works ok
Thank you for watching!
Never second coat! Makes noooo better.....
Ah gotcha. Thank you for watching!
Start too spray from a end of the headlamp and stop in the other end, not thoch spray like that 😃
Thank you!

no close up. overspray on vehicle.......
I really didn't get any overspray. It may look like it from the video, but none got on the paint.
This video doesn't answer the question. False advertising. You don't get to use this title for a year until you have actual results.
I’m sorry if you feel it is false advertising. We did just post a 6 month later video. You can view it here:

Spar Urethane lasts 2-4 years. McGuire's should be at least as good.
You need to learn how to spray paint.
Do you have a good spray painting video I can learn from?
@@andrewphilshow 😂😂😂
@@sirrogerbannister9282 Thanks for picking up on that 😂
It makes your crystal clear new headlights foggy AF. That is how it works.
I’m sorry you didn’t have the same experience.
Learn 2 spray
Hey I am thinking on adding it to my AMG headlights are clear but I am noticing a slight fog on the corners. I want to use this as preventative but you said it will make it worse???
@@CopyCat_OG I followed the instructions and it made it foggy
@@maxmaxed2887 did you use 1 coat or 2? Damn how else can we protect our headlights
Just use 303 protectant instead.save time
I’ll have to check it out, thank you!
