1 youtube channel that every gentleman should know:- @Gentleman'sgazette 🙏
I dig this channel. I dont dress like this at all unless its a formal event; im more of a streetwear kinda guy or "peasant" as yall would call it lol. However I still love listening to you guys (Raphael, Preston, Kyle) get on camera and just talk in depth at length about getting fly. Yall be on here gettin supa fly, talking about the nuance that goes into it, like nobody else. Im big into fashion, albeit a different style entirely, but I still respect the swag, attention to detail, and overall look of it. Super genuine.
I’m sort of similar. I ski and so I have naturally accumulated a lot of quality, properly fitted, functional garments. But I also appreciate clothing that can pull double duty, so my base layers, socks etc. are usually also attractive, with subtle knits or even a nicely placed pattern. These can be worn easily in casual social settings, après-ski, or otherwise, and have the advantage of being comfortable too.
The topic indexing in the timer at the bottom of the screen is a nice feature for fast browsing/viewing
Yes! How do you do that?
I watched this video with a tear in my eye. My father was a tailor and this was his life. Being a child of the 60’s I lived in jeans. I believe he was looking down at me and thinking I finally grew up!
Surprisingly I am pretty much familiar with all these terms. Watching this channel truly has expanded my knowledge in classic menswear.
Same, here. This and other channels have taught me well.
Preston is just a breath of fresh air. I never realized how much so until the world devolved into chaos. His thoughtfulness and steady voice remind me that there is still a normal and good world out there somewhere. Loved the list, particularly the jacket/blazer explanations. Cheers, Preston.
Although I'm 14 years old, I follow your advice for when I will be old enough to look dapper and elegant
Me too
Dont
I'm seventeen and I already dress like this.
Dress for the occasion dress for the weather
Yeah apply them when ur 90 or more!
I'm a proud owner of over a dozen accessories from the gentleman's gazette shop and they will definitely set you apart and make you stand out as the best dressed in the room! Not to mention the quality of the items is too notch!
Thank you for all of your amazing content gentleman's gazette!
I just have to stop and say I love listening to Preston’s voice and his enunciation is impeccable.
Never heard someone so educated like this guy.
I gotta say, Preston looks right handsome in that ensemble.
Agreed, that green tie is dashing, Mr. Preston.
He has been looking gradually better
to my suprise: how good green pairs with pink!
I so let Preston dominate me in his sick dungeon....
@@gilbertorangel4127 that escalated
I use pink and green all the time in the summer, nice to see someone else using it too.
Glad to hear it. Yesterday would have been my dads 85th. My brothers & I were reminiscing of his fashion choices. Lilly Pulitzer jackets included.
@@samanthab1923 And what was your dad's expression after seeing you?
@@keshavrao212 Sorry he died over 25 years ago.
Beautifully written and presented. I especially enjoy the episodes with Preston; his fluid way of speaking and precision of language is both pleasing and engaging. His passion for this subject makes him both a great educator and a salesman for the Fort Belvedere products.
Preston, it is really wonderful to learn from your posts. It is also great to see how well you share your increasing knowledge about men's classic dressing with all of us. Thank you Preston.
man ..your videos are really put together.I can't stop watching
As it is difficult to find such quality content in portuguese, being able to learn with the channel really helps me in my menswear career here in Brazil. And I felt proud to know most of the terms, that I also learned here
i love how you put the timeline neat and organized. thank you
Thanks for explaining. Also, that tie looks great on you Preston.
Ah. 25 style terms in 25 minutes. Does my OCD the world of good

Great job Preston!
Smart casual video would be awesome!
Preston is on point these days! Such a good channel. Thank you for all the great content.
This is without question, my favourite channel on CZcams. Another fantastic episode.
Kyle is absolutely packing at 15:36 holy goodness.
In the German dubbing of Kingsman, they actually kinda corrected their mistake. They say "Oxfords, nicht Budapester", which actually translates to "Oxfords, not Derbys". Don't think that was intentional, but still kinda interesting.
"Sometimes, always and never," were the rules. I learned for 3 button jackets. 2 button jackets you drop the sometimes.
Thanks, GG!!! You have most definitely helped me up my style game. I look fly most days now, and the other night, my wife mentioned that my nighttime pjs were fly as well.
This video was half an hour? It felt like 5 minutes... very well put together
Another great Preston video. I learned a few things - thanks!
Great to see new vids!
10:34 the e in Donegal is like a syllable all on its own so pronounce it more like Dun-e-gall
Can you please make a video about cheap items which are better than their expensive counterparts. Also great video.
I know all the terms because I’ve been watching this channel for years!
Very thorough. Thank you for making this vlog❗️
Thank you. I always learn so much from your videos.
Oh I realllllllly like his tie and shirt and boutonniere
very educational for me, thanks - helps in shopping for the men in family
Without you guys I could have never found my style and taste.
I didn't know any of this at all! Reasons I love to watch y'all. ❤ thanks.
Great video. Very throughly done. Good explication
I see Preston, I click 😍😍
Found out about you guys just receltly, being in love with classic men's styles myself, I must congratulate you on your knowledge and effort that you put into creating these videos. Keep up the good work and do one about what classic car should every gentleman own or at least aspire to. (apologies if you have already done that one)
I've found a piece of heaven and identity in this world here, thank you gentleman gazette💘 two thumbs way way up.
This lovely video felt like a half term exam that I was looking forward too.
Let me be perfectly clear. I have no intention whatsoever of ever dressing like this in my life, if I can help it. But for some reason I don't know what it is about these videos, but I like watching them all and I've subscribed. Keep up the good work. I might not ever do it, but it looks like you guys love what you do and are good at it, so I take my backwards baseball hat off to you.
These videos make me happy
Preston, looking good ! These are also very useful tips.
Great tutorial
Another great video.
And Preston looks awesome.😁👍
Love the outfit Preston. I really like green and pink together!
Thanks Preston!
Excellent video & very well done 👏👏👏
Love you guy's thank you! Now we need a video on Jacob & Co 👈🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Extremely educational
Great video guys 🤙🏾
Excellent content as always truly appreciated! Was going to ask a question but you never respond so I'll save it for the next video. Fantastic information and insight as always thanks.
Looking forward to Vol 2.
I genuinely admire your creativity yet fundamentality in choosing topics. This is a GREAT video!
The twill weave is also more rip resistant than many other weaves.
Great video 👌
I like this man
I love Kyle's cupro jacket!!!! 😍😍
Love the tie at 12:52.
25 minutes with my man Preston, what could I ask for more?
In the UK, in my experience, "business casual" just means shirt and trousers. Jacket and/or tie are optional, and you will rarely see the former. And while it doesn't include sneakers, you won't see many shiny dress shoes either; just basic, functional leather shoes.
Shiny shoes are best kept for the military.
Preston with the blue. Brown shoes brown derby....ohhh weeeeee!
Very good video
The thumbnail is kind of reminiscent of Bob Hope. Another true gentleman.
Hello GG really enjoyed the video, especially the shoe terms. However I thought at some point you had a shoe polishing series, but I can't find any of those videos.
I'm so far behind on this. When I got married I bought a shirt that had french cuffs because I thought french cuffs sounded better than barrel cuffs. I didn't know what cuff links were and had to improvise with zip ties.
Fantastic video, as usual. Wish there was something like this is Portuguese.
Preston sure do love his pink dress shirt
I just had a suit made, and the jacket came out to a drop 11. But it looks really good.
Now I just have to keep up with exercise to keep that fit.

👊🏼👊🏼
I've watched so much of Preston that I recognize his entire wardrobe 😭
Great
I know it's an old video, but thanks for explaining Oxford cloth. I really like them, but I've struggled to find them without knowing there was a specific term.
Greetings from Lima, Thank you very much for sharing. I am not that into formal wear but I need to play the part and dress up. People treat me differently when I wear a suit, they raise prices to me as well.
Preston really looks from another era. Not bad looking at all, just out of time. And he is quite nice.
Stifler looks sharp ;)
Your co host is very smart and no the rag bussines
@Preston. That presentation would have scored you an "A" in IBM last century, when their presentation methods became the ITC Industry standard. Nobody ever did it better than IBM, which is why they were regularly raided by Silicon Valley startups, looking to Float an IPO. Very easy to watch, congratulations. Phil.
I’ve been Traditional WetShaving over 2 years now and just got into Fountain pens
Reminder: a blazer is a more formal jacket, often associated with sports clubs such as yacht clubs, unlike sports coats which are not.
If I saw Preston stading around in public I would definitely walk up and talk to him. Looks interesting af.
Can you do a video on your thoughts of alden? Cheers
Any chance you'd do a waistcoat video?
I think your black colleague (sorry, I don't know his name) is the prime example of sprezzatura. He looks very elegant without giving the impression that he's trying too hard. He makes it look effortless!
Can a wingtip collar shirt be worn with a business suit?
Hey Preston, what if i wore a pair of Air Yeezy 2 Red Octobers with a suit?
"Business casual" now seems to include jeans, and sometimes at workplaces just gets enforced as "a shirt with a collar" leading to some creative choices for on my half. This has changed fast in 10 years. I didn't get a new job nor technically switch workplaces, but I went from wearing a dress shirt and trousers every day to jeans and a collared Caribbean shirt, haha! Of course, my place may have a loose dress code, or it may be my industry, but we were acquired twice... If you look online, you will see attitudes towards jeans as business casual are changing. Still, if you care about looking nice, you can dress up a little. My job is stressful enough so I wear comfortable clothes for work and dress up socially.
I the German version of Kingsmen, he diesn't differenciate between Oxfords and Brogues but “Oxfords, not Budapester“ whicz makes sense since Budapester here means a slightly bumpy long toe part.
Knew 20/25. I guess I can call myself a sartorial connoisseur now haha. Just kidding. Cheers gentlemen great video as always 🥂
Superb ,, really fantastic.......
Hit like
Ha, it's not even possible to have watched the video at that point.
Yeah lol
It is, as patrons can watch a video and comment long before it is published and it is also viewable and you can leave comments by accessing the video from the post on our website before it is published on youtube.
@@gentlemansgazette Ah, yes, that makes sense now. I watched the Jame's Bond style video around two weeks before it was made fully public, I thought that the article had accidentally been published earlier.
Greetings from México,
Greetings, what is the brand of your shoes in this video, please?
Idea for future video:
Differences between Dapper, Dandy and Dashing.
Dapper: Standard Classic.
Dandy: Experimental, avant garde.
Dashing: effortless elegance.
OMG is that an Otterbox Commuter phone case you're using @0:42 time of the video? I've been using OtterBox defender for over 15 years now for my iPhone, and to me OtterBox is the best choice when it comes to defending your phone from outside damage and unintended hits against the edges of walls while swinging your hand with your phone in it when passing through a narrow doors at the same time for example, which as weird and clumsy as it sounds, happens to me quite often! The thing is, most classically dressed people have told me that carrying such bulky case in combination with a classic suit couldn't look more disproportionate and that I should I rather opt for a slim unnoticeable see-through case or get rid of the case altogether, which would make my overall appearance much more sleek and high status. They say that as a slim guy like yourself, there is nothing worse I could do then wear a slim fitted suit that compliments my body shape well, while holding a "bulky brick" in my hand or next to my ear while talking on the phone. Do you believe such claims to be true? And what other options could I try in order to discover a better balance in my overall outside "classi businessman" appearance while alternatively protecting my phone on the same quality level?
1:40 Those two guys, center left, both thinking, “I AM THE SH!T”. 😉👍
I'm a woman but I watch these videos because I find them fascinating.
