    So it's been a whole year and 15k miles that I've owned these Cooper ST Maxx in 285/75R16. They are basically 33 inch tires.
    Super quick conclusion about them.
    Thanks for watching.

    I've got about 4k on my ST Maxxes now - rotated at 3k prior to my second track day. I really like them over the KO2s that came stock, way more grip in all conditions. They were the only tire that was in the same weight range as the K02s while being more aggressive, and I heard they were quiet. They are quiet for how aggressive they are, but I must say they are just loud enough to be annoying to me on rough country roads above 55mph. Measured about 70-72db in the cab.
    They are a lot tougher than the KO2s, but my baja shenanigans on rocky terrain is eating up them too. The siping in the center tread is much bigger now (being chunked out) and the edges of the tires are scuffed/eradicated by now, which is a bit disappointing with only about 100 offroad miles on them. But I shredded the K02s in 38 miles of that kind of driving, so can't really blame them too much.

    I run STT Pros, my girlfriend runs AT 4S, and her son has ST Max and we all have the same experience with the more aggressive Cooper tires. The noise increases significantly as they wear. Otherwise they all perform great.

    I bought these recently, love 'em so far. Bought them as 255/85r16 for my 3rd gen Tacoma. I think if I buy new wheels I'll get something with a slight negative offset, or close to 0 just so I can get a little more flushness with the fender flares, or a slight poke out from the fender flares. I love the look of the pizza cutters and they perform fantastically but on stock TRD off road wheels they look a little slight. I don't notice noise at all, on occasion I drive my mother around in her Honda Fit and that thing's studded winters are WAY louder than the ST MAXX ever could be.

    • @RobDaman

    • @dreww2475
      @dreww2475 Před 5 lety +1

      @@RobDaman Only a couple hundred km with in town and highway use, you'd think they'd be loudest at their newest (knobbiest) but they're quiet. I do get a loud hum/almost rumble when coming down in speed but it's negligible. At anything past 35km/hr (give or take 22mi/hr) the truck creates more wind noise than tires could.

    Good video, mt tires look cool but not practical as they don’t last long and not very good grip on wet pavement plus they’re heavy, not a good price to pay for attention.Those might be my next tire or the nitto ridge grapplers.

      I looked at both before purchasing ST MAXX. The Ridge Grapplers have a great tread design, look awesome, but I didn't want to buy new rims for C load 285/70r17. Out of cheapness I ended up going for 255/85r16 Coopers even though they're E load and kept my stock wheels... also saved having to chop the cab mount because I have no idea where would've done that in my small town.
