He wants to capture the base vote means the most extreme voters is who he is trying to appeal to they which tends to be older people they statistically vote more than most voters and have outdated and extreme views. But he forgets women statistically participate in voting more than men. And women statistically vote for social issues no matter how bad the economy is. Men statistically vote for economic issues.

@@sebcw1204 Yes he also causes a bandwagon effect which I think was what happened when he run against Nikki Haley during the primary. To me there was no difference between them, her supposed civility didn't make her mentality any different than his to me. But between both of those evils she might have been the safer option. Yet hardly anyone voted for her even though she was his clone, his franchise almost. That's the bandwagon effect, people just thought he would win against Biden so they voted for him instead.
