No one asked
Welcome home sir, you did a lot of good...72 yo Navy Veteran
Former SOF guy turned Army Aviator (Hawks and Apaches) turned EMS pilot and I'm here to tell you these guys set the bar, these guys are and always have been my heroes.
Thank you for your service! We couldn't agree with you more; true heroes.
I LIVED IN Cam Duc for 4 years!!! I knew there was something going on there but was not sure of what exactly. I know about the old airstrip. I was the security guy in a Gold Room at Phuoc Son Gold mine. 2009 - 2013. The mine was a short drive straight up into the deep thick triple canopy jungle just at the Laos Border. Crazy times and stories I have experienced and heard over my 7 years in country. Anyway, I will not waste anymore time other than to say, this is one of the best interviews I have ever seen from these amazing warriors of the sky. Thank you for all of your service and making time to record your story. I would love to hear more as I know you have tons more. I am... Have been living in Thailand full time since 2013 after my last contract in Vietnam. I would love to take you to lunch if you ever get to Beautiful Gorgeous Bangkok Thailand 🇹🇭 🌺 🌴 🌴 🙏 Thank you. 🙏 🇺🇸
Great interview...I was a tower controler in Can Tho 1970 and 71. In my off time I flew gunner with 16th. Air Cav in OH6A and also with 7th. of the 1st Cav gun ships. You pilots were the best. "Above The Best"
Just watch the episode you had with Peff Eick. What a great story he has and a wonderful ministry he he provides to those who have served. Great song also. Thank you and him for your service and the work you continue to do!!
I went through Fort Rucker in 1978' and thought I had gone nuts after my 3rd week in Crew Chief Trng. However, my cousin was a Dust-Off pilot, but was killed in air crash in Nam, and I was determined to do this school because my Dad was a Squid as as "Navy Submariner" guy. And he told me that if I get that school in my head, I be employed for a lifetime. But, when you're 19 years old you're not thinking that far ahead in life. But, not make this too long-I decided I didn't want to be a dead crew chief so I dropped out of the course and was sent to Transportation Sch. as a Motor Transport Operator....."Nice and Safe job!" driving Officers around Fort Lewis, WA during my entire enlistment period.
My dad was in the 170th AHC. Doorgunner. Bikinis/Bucs. 1968.
I recognized the Buccaneers patch in the photos immediately.
Your Dad's service is very much appreciated.
I remember the call signs Bikini and Headless Horsemen and Ghost riders
Thank you for your service
Welcome Home, Thank you Sir, God bless you ALL...
Thank you for watching!
Very interesting. What’s the old saying? If you can’t hover - 😎 Thank you for telling your story

I won't mind seeing if he knows how to find people I was stationed with when I was in Vietnam in 71&72 and I was at Camp Eagle 101th Airborne. I was a crew chief on a oh-6 looch. Also a oh-58 jet ranger. I have a picture video called (Vietnam 1971 & 72 101th Airborne Camp Eagle) if you could like a share maybe someone I was with might see it.
I finally gave up after a while! I guess I lost my patience with the interview.
The interviewer talks too damm much. Let the person you interviewed talk tell his story not yours
It's a different style but I agree if compared to typical interview and/or story-telling formats. Yes, it could be frustrating to watch depending on my mindset or mood. Watching the previous episodes was advantageous in that regard.
You beat me in saying that. Mr. Eick kept it interesting and has a heck of a story to tell. What little we heard was said from his on volition and not brought out from questions. The right questions could have brought out so much more. The interviewer needs to calm down. He tries too hard, stating the obvious and simply placates. It’s painfully obvious he was never “there“.
I think that Peff is a man that is so humble that he wouldn’t just talk about his experiences, like many others in the same circumstances, and the interviewer wanted to facilitate him. Coming from a Vietnam vet.
Yeah exactly! Found out more about the guy giving the interview then I really care for! LOL and then we found out more about The guy‘s personal life other than Nam.
