That's so true. Every video of his I watch I'm like omg why don't you do this or that. I didn't even have the game, just bought it today and I can barely get like 2500-3000 on a level while he's getting 4000-5000 lol. Opps

You should have used the extra roundabouts to block spawn, cuz they cover like a 3×3 area ...so it probably would save a few roads .
I don't think they are a perfect 3×3. Granted, I'm just going off what I've seen about the game thanks to channels like this one and RCE, but using the example of the two roundabouts placed at around the six-minute mark, he only gets four roadways back from placing them at junctions with three paths each. Logically, it should follow that he'd get at least eight roadways back in those instances, but he doesn't... and if it removed orthogonally adjacent road pieces, he would've gotten at least six back including the center junction... so the only thing that makes sense in their placement is that roundabouts are actually *X-shaped* road pieces.
A helpful tip I learned is when you’re wanting no spawns on certain tiles you fill the space with road tiles, at 6:47 your bottom right corner is doing that but ineffectively, instead of having them all be one consecutive road, use 1 road tile to fill 2 empty tile spaces, you’ll net back a lot more roads giving you more to block for later, good stuff though
6:00 when blocking the island you used 2 straight lines for a total 10 Road tiles. But if you used a series of double squares, they only cost 1 tile per pair, thereby covering the same area but only using 5 Road tiles.
Plus, if you were only trying to block Warehouses, you could save even more tiles because you only had to have a partial blockade for each 6 tile area.
He should just use his spare roundabouts to block the island
Do they even spawn on the island in the daily challenge? It wouldn't make sense to, since you have no way of connecting them.
@@_ikako_ they do spawn... The developers intend for you to use roads and roundabouts to block buildings spawning.
You need to block the houses out there too. I only blocked warehouses and got fucked because almost all the red houses spawned out there.

While watching your game I can see everything you are doing wrong, allowing houses to spawn when you had unnecessary roads you could have salvaged, not changing the direction of unattached houses to reserve the space where you want to connect them, not drawing in the bits of roads you are planning hat will run near growing housing developments and of course not using roundabouts to block the island... Yet I was so stupid when I played this challenge. I was looking forward to it and planning my roads out.... But somehow failed to think about blocking the island! I love that I can see everything you were getting wrong but you tend to score higher than me anyway. Fortunately you don't get to see my games 😂

hey man, i really enjoy the videos and your approach. One thing i would suggest is that when you put a roundabout try to keep only 4 roads connected to it and that too in 4 perpendicular directions. Roads too close on a roundabout also increase the congestion on it.
This wont be possible everytime but the main objective is to keep max. distance between the roads entering the roundabout ❤️
Tip: if you get annoyed that your inventory bar at the bottom keeps disappearing, toggle the small lock icon just above it. This’ll lock the it to always show. 👍🏻
Ive said before that i like it disappearing to be clean... but then i do also forget i might own a round about or a bridge, and it permanently being on screen would definitely have its benefit

some of your roundabouts were connected directly to four-way crossings or double three-ways that could have been integrated into the roundabouts to make traffic overall smoother and cut down on the number of intersections

Found this channel a couple of days ago and can't stop watching your videos! Very soothing to listen to you narrate. A personal suggestion of what I think would be cool is to see when you're later in a game is to pause, delete everything and renetwork it all
Thats occasionally a strategy i would employ in Mini Metro, but im not sure if it would work in Motorways. Because cars wont let you reclaim road until you stop using them it would mean my city would have to be close to everyone at home and then rebuild, and then everyone surges to destinations. Id definitely love to do it, but i have doubts on if its a survivable move
@@S2isDrawingDead maybe do certain areas at a time or a specific color would possibly work so there's a bit leeway

If you don't care about houses spawning on the other island and only worried about factories, then I think you could've deleted some of the road you were using over in the other island. The smallest factory is 2x3 so in theory, you just have to interrupt every 2x3 area with 1 road, not block out the entire thing.

My concern was a whole lot of a single colour might show up on that island and a factory could have access to too few houses. The suggestions of using my massive stack of roundabouts over there have merit
I dont get why people were hounding you so much about the roundabouts. They just lead to so much unnecessary congestion late game. The motorway is king

Watching other youtubers play this it’s hard to know what they’re doing wrong, because they have no idea what they’re doing. You have a very clear plan each map and explain it well the whole time, so you end up getting hounded in the comments because it’s obvious when you do something that goes against your plan and your mistakes are so few they are easily identifiable.
I do find it funny when i declare a plan and it then near instantly flies out the window, haha. I dont mind the comments. Plenty of times its a perspective on a problem i hadnt considered. Really it works both ways. The hounding is usually bang on, so it does help improve my game. What am i not seeing that everyone else is looking out for.

put your spare roundabouts on the island
Yo you are using roundabouts so frustratingly incorrectly its driving me mad. Roundabouts are used at intersections. Now intersections aren't where two lanes merge, or one lane splits into two. It's when two lanes cross eachother. That is when they are useful. You keep putting them at merges and splits and they are less than useless there. They just make the cars drive extra distance.
Like at 7:47, place a roundabout and have the blue cross the yellow. Alternatively you could have reclaimed some of your blocking road tiles on the island. Personally I only would have placed 2 road pieces spaced to block a factory from spawning.

I got screwed on this challenge. Just as I am about to block the island off, two yellow houses spawn and a navy blue delivery spawned there. Ended my run in the most frustrating fashion.
You could have put your roundabout on the island to get roads back

I think you should allow some houses to spawn on island but jest not enough space for warehouse.

Why would the game spawn Houses/buildings on the Island, when you can't have Bridges and Motorways?
You need to PLASTER the board with road tiles to prevent the city from being too crowded
I dont know this for certain but i feel like the game sort of works like “you get 100 jobs per minute” and they are divided amongst your destinations. As the game progresses the number of jobs per minute increases. The fewer warehouses you have the more work each needs to do in later stages. Ive tried blocking a map and just having the original warehouse and it becomes unmanageable pretty quick. Just a theory though

Why dont you control spawns, you have a lot of spare roads. Red spawn at 4:00 was really bad

Blocking the island could have been much cheaper if you only want to prevent shops from spawning. It shouldn't really matter if houses spawn there, right?
I think only 1, maybe 2, particular colours spawn down there. The risk would be those colours wouldnt have enough houses in the main area to support their warehouses

It doesn't make sense that the game would spawn structures that you can't get to without a bridge or motorway. Did you already play a similar type of level that doesn't give you bridges or motorways and it did occur?
I havent. But i had had people mention to me they crashed and burnt out of this when a warehouse showed up east of the river
Do you actually have a favourite city/map?
LA is certainly a huge amount easier than the others, so it is fun to try and hit big numbers on. But i think maybe Rio De Janeiro. Islands, mountains, its really uniques
Watching this is so fun just found the channel a few days ago and one thing I suggest you is to sprinkle other games as well to make your viewers more intrigued with you rather than this game.
