Anyone who is a Kate fan knows the deal; she's been asked this a million times. She handled it with grace, though. But seriously, these journalists need to get a clue.
What else do the interviewers know to ask?
For decades it was made out that he was a deadbeat. Now we know Goldie was responsible for absolute parental alienation. He and Cindy Williams begged for the kids to spend time with him regularly and grow up knowing their siblings.
That’s what they all say. I don’t believe it. When a man is serious he goes to court. Period.
What has Kate Hudson done that she deserves any attention at this point?
I totally get her. Same relationship with my father. He wasnt there yet we have a relationship at a distance

@@mechajay3358same issue with my dad. He moved out of state when I was 3 only because my mother didn’t want him anymore. Didn’t mean he had to bounce outta my life. I know I wouldn’t if I had a kid. I couldn’t! I don’t get that frame of mind knowing you have a kid out there and choosing to not be part of his/her life growing up…. I didn’t see or hear from him again til I was like 14. He briefly came back in. Left again. Seen him a few more times but eventually cut him entirely and pretend he doesn’t exist today. Cuz he hasn’t. Again, his choice. Not moms.
Some dudes are just losers and horrible people and it’s really that simple. Especially straight men. I don’t get them.
Kate is a lovely girl ,a very talented actress and a happy human ,her father missed on all of this joy ,is his loss for sure …
We only know what the media makes up so only she and her dad who both have a very different version know the truth.
from what I have read, it was not his choice to be alienated from his children. I think I know where the fault lies.
My Aunt lived in Portland, Oregon from the 1950's to the 90's. The Hudson family (with their kids Bill, Mark, and Brett) were neighbors. That said then, my Aunt remembered when she was asked over to the Hudson house and met Goldie Hawn, when she and Bill Hudson were engaged in the 1970's. Some years later, Bill Hudson married Cindy Williams who played Shirley on 'Laverne and Shirley'.
People who have children have to remember to be a PRESENCE in your children's lives. Phone calls, letters, a relationship with the other parent; yes it can be HARD work and there will be obstacles.... but you keep trying.
When children are adults, it goes both ways.
My parents were married for 40 years. Even though my dad wasn't perfect, he was still my father. Mom complained about my dad more often than not and convinced me he was a bad person. After he passed away, I watched how manipulative my mom really was.
It's always the man that's bad unless you live long enough to see the truth come out. Kate's mom has plenty to answer for.

How would you know? Perhaps an angry vindictive difficult wealthy ex wife drew a wedge between the kids and their father, then brought in a new daddy to take over. Don't believe her cultivative narrative the past 40+ years.
When you have a parents that’s a Narcissist people seem to be upset, when you choose to go no contact. It’s ok to go no contact and move on with your life. Toxic people cannot take up space in your mind.
When asked about his relationship with his two children, Kate and Oliver’s bio dad said, “They are dead to me”.
Why do people keep bringing this up? Shes already answered this. Its like they dont like the answer and want her to change it. The dude was a dirtbag and Kurt Russell raised her.

As much as I always liked Goldie Hawn I always had a weird feeling she deliberately kept her kids from seeing their father early on but I could be wrong .
I'm glad they had somebody very decent and down-to-earth like Kurt Russell to be their Dad
Bil has said all along she kept the kids from him, & for no good reason except that she wanted Kurt to be the one who raised them.
Both Bill and his wife Cindy Williams said they begged to see the kids and pleaded with Goldie to let Oliver and Kate know and be close to their kids. Goldie refused and made his life hell until Bill gave up.
I think Goldie made sure Kate didn't spend time with her dad. I know 3 dads whose ex wives did the same thing. I'm a female.
She has three kids with three different guys. That should tell you enough.

To be fair to Kate, at least in regard to these comments, the interviewer was probably the one to bring up the subject and Kate's answer was diplomatic.

This seems so unkind to talk publicly(one sided) about such a personal relationship, especially simce she is so much more prominent a figure than her father. It is a sell for Kate Hudson to get attention for this, and certainly does nothing to develop a better relationship with her father. Would anybody appreciate being spoken about in this arena in this way???? How unfair and unattractive of her. Gross.

Bill Hudson is still alive. I am pretty sure that the interviewer would not be asking her about her relationship with her father if he was dead! Or at least I hope not lol......
He's not dead. His second wife Cindy Williams did pass away.

Any intelligent person knows only a psychiatrist can diagnose narcissism after an extensive evaluation, but here you are pretending to diagnose complete strangers whom you've never even met, never even seeing 60 seconds of their life. If that is how you spend your time online, that may suggest a need for you to have an evaluation. We also know now that Goldie cheated on him, and he tried for years to see his kids. His ex-wife confirmed that with proof showing how they pleaded with Goldie to let the kids have a relationship with their kids, but she refused and had far more money. Learn, comprehend, then speak, which is what educated adults do. He is also still alive, which really shows your lack of knowledge.
