  • The Dualtron Mini is a solid, single motor, electric scooter with a lot of comfort and speed for it's size. The suspension travel is larger than most scooters in it's class and the robust folding mechanism is very user friendly. A fun and sharp looking scooter.

    Thank you very much for doing this review. There are barely any videos on this online so it was great help. If you can do another video just talking about anything else you didn't add or something you might like to add that would be great. I'm looking to use one to commute each day to work, do you think this could manage some light drizzly rain every now and again? I live in London ;)

    one thing i wish more reviewers would do is to fold it down and put it into a car boot or back seat to give potential buyers and idea of the size and how transportable it is

    That ABS sounded and probably acts like the LOCK feature on my Ninebot Max!

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  Před 2 lety +3

      The Mini is pretty slick, the ABS just pulses all the time on the Ey3 setups. I've never been a fan of the way it feels, luckily it is easy enough to turn off.

    The rattling handle for the retractable handle bars. What the reviewer has missed is that the release pin goes back into a hole and that stops it rattling. However, I had to use a hammer on mine to push the handle far enough forward for it to engage. But when you manage it it is totally effective.

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  Před 3 lety +4

      @Justin Anon, I had the pin you reference seated, however it doesn't hold the lever tight enough to not rattle some. I first tried a small piece of tape over the hole to make the pin fit in there tighter. Mine had a threaded hole on the opposite side which is why I added the additional bolt.

    Still waiting for my Dualtron Mini to be delivered but not many reviews like yours so I was happy to see the range of the scooter for the money I spent on it. I will be doing my own review of sorts once I have it for the UK. I just love the solid robust look and feel it gives rather than the sleek look on my Xiaomi M365, that said I still love my Xiaomi to get to work. I will use the Dualtron for long rides when I go metal detecting and other adventures so looking forward to getting it soon, well next month lol

      @@MrFooChops I had mine delivered today - one working day as promised, bought on the dualtron-uk.com. 17.5 A version with 2900W max motor ( according to manual specification ) I have also found out gradability is around 37% ( 20 degrees ) which is really steep ...and more then official info on the website ( print error in the manual ? ) I do not know who to believe really, so I trust my own experience - I had 30% battery , 48V on the display and climb 12degrees road 20 km/h on the second mode without problem ( my weight little bit less then 80 kg ) This is my first electric scooter and I found its fascinating and quite scary ( acceleration for example ). As with most scooters a decent ip rating better than ip54, decent indicators, high mounted front lighting and a thumb throttle option are what’s missing from this. I also think the mini seriously needs folding handlebars especially with mini in the name! The other dualtrons are huge and very fast so I get no folding ones with those. So good scooter but improvements can be made. I’ve seen it for the same price as a vsett 8 aswell recently which helps its appeal.

    To be fair, the stats you display on the Zero 9 are based off the March 2019 model. There's been numerous improvements to it since, including an upgrade from 500 watt to 600 watt motor

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  Před 4 lety +2

      @Peter L, this is true. I'll start putting the year or wattage by the numbers. That 500 to 600 watt change shouldn't effect performance as the battery and controller were unchanged but the 52v version would definitely perform better.

    Quick question sir because I just want to justify my purchase. I was on the market of medium high end scooters. Thanks in advance, awesome video. 👍🏼

    • @ElectronSurfer
      @ElectronSurfer  Před 3 lety +3

      @Mark Mante, I think the Mini is the most flexible of those options. The Cruiser has a larger deck, the Apollo Explore is basically a Zero 9, so in my mind it isn't that comparable. The Leger is basically a nicer version of the Explore or Zero 9 with a bit more battery. The Mini will get you more flexibility when the others, though good, are really just geared to paved road riding. Let me know how the Mini treats you!

      I heard that there was a run of them that had either a bad tire or a rim that affected how the tire was running. It allowed part of the sidewall to be more susceptible to flats. If it is an issue Dualtron can probably make it right for you, one way or another.

    I have a Zero 9 and I am disappointed about the suspension.
    I am considering buying a Dualtron Mini.
    I don’t have money for more.
    Do you think the Mini has a better suspension than the Zero 9?

      I have noticed that the Zero 9's suspension can bottom out for some riders. The Mini has much firmer suspension and more travel. I am honestly not sure if there is an elastomer in there with the spring. Personally I feel the Mini's suspension is much better than the Zero 9's.
      Is it only the suspension that turns you off about the Zero 9? There are some other options, like the Speedway Leger that could work for you too, they are coming out with a 52v version of the Leger. Thanks
