Just the work that went into that bracelet makes the appraisal too low. It's a work of art. Stunning.
I’m not an expert but that bracelet may have sold for $7500. Originally but I would say it is twice that!
Absolutely.
open a store and let me sell you things
This is the most gorgeous piece of jewelry. Everything is perfect with this piece... seems like these newer episodes have a lot of under estimates.
WOW sapphires are one of my favourite stones, this piece is breathtaking 😍
I think this is the most beautiful piece of jewelry I’ve ever seen on AR. I’ve watched this clip so many times.
I would pay more than that. What an amazing bracelet it's so well done.
Piece of Art!!!!
Worth way more than that!!
Oh my goodness that bracelet made my heart skip a beat. Wow!!
Splendid example! Spaulding & Co. was top notch!
Gorgeous bracelet!!! I’d love to have that on my wrist....❤️
Great Jewelry from Art Deco is always stunning
That these pieces have survived at all.is what makes each one a Treasure! Think about the Wars, natural disasters like fires and floods, monetary problems, and the pieces stay in the family! That's when they become heirlooms..
Omg Stunning!!! Blue Sapphires lovely addition
Beautiful bracelet!
Elisa Castillo It’s timeless... will never go out of style.
Its so pretty. And looks so futuristic.
Gladys was cool! Such a party girl, died on the dance floor.
Best part of this video
legend has it
Isn’t that the way all the best kids kick the bucket? …. God bless Aunt Gladys!
This is a very beautiful and unique bracelet. Very eye catching.
7500?! That's it?? Get a second opinion!
J. Alex I agree! I'd give her that for it right now.
Same thing I was thinking! For a platinum bracelet with natural sapphires and diamonds 7500 sounds very low.
It’s a conservative price. They always give the lowest price that it would have so that if they were to sell it they would be at least guaranteed that price, of course it isn’t worth that it’s more
In new York that would be 20k easy.
Insulting low estimate.
Wow, it's gorgeous!
She is underestimating it because she has her eyes on it!
Gorgeous bracelet. Looks like it's worth more
it is, much more
Go Aunt Gladys! ❤️😎🌎
Stunning bracelet!!!
Stunning piece. 💕🇨🇦
God that is a beautiful bracelet
I know absolutely nothing about jewelry! I am in love with this piece! At first glance, I thought it was intricately enameled, to find out that its Jewelled, is just awesome to me!
Such an underestimation
It is so beautiful piece...
I could get more then $12,000 for that piece.
$7,500 is really conservative.
In the right store, in the right city, with the right sales lady that bracelet would be fought over.
Really. It is only worth what someone will pay for it. That is how auctions work. If someone really wants it then they will pay for it.
It's well made, If those sapphires aren't heated the price could go higher than that and for sure Gladys would agree. Her story would've been more glamorous. She died in the dancefloor wearing a 13 to 15 thousand bracelet.
The woman is crazy, you can’t get 1ct sapphire like that for 5000, so all that work and history is worth more like 30000 minimum
I think that price is way too low. I’d get a second opinion stat-!
No way, $7500.00? I’d go to another Antique’s Road Show and get another appraisal.
"Oops! Dropped a zero. What I meant was 75,000..."
@Edigy. I don't think so but nice try.
Very bad appraisal.....
You can get 5 times the price she gave you...
I wish you were on CZcams to show your expertise!
Stunning, would love that on my wrist.
Irrespective of the current value , I think we can all agree that the future value of this piece will rise exponentially .
That is beautiful!
Its absolutely gorgeous!
I would’ve thought a lot more. More like 20K
Of course worth sooo much more
7500!? That can't be right.
Can just imagine Ms Gladys strutting her stuff on the dance floor of Studio54. X
Gorgeous.
Amazing
Fantastic
This one is lowballing everything.
They don't "lowball" because they're not buying it. They give them the conservative price range always. That's so they know that at the very least the item will be worth however much. Auctions are random and anyone can bid however much money they think it's worth. If you think it's worth more than that at an auction, then you bid however much you think it's worth since you're so confident you can get more out of it or because you want it personally. That's how auctions work.
Even if the lady said it's legitimate but worth $1, the owner could still take it to an auction and sell it for $500,000 to someone who thinks it's worth that much.
Yeah, id say so! Thats a $50,000 plus piece Id say. Today anyway. I didnt look to see what year that was filmed
I call LOWBALL, INACCURATE appraisal but I see others have beat me to it!
Wow! That is beautiful! I really, really like that! That's my birth stone too! Congratulations on a beautiful piece! I want one❣️🤦 🤣🙄
LOL 7,5k. I take it for 8!
7500 ? She needs thicker glasses!
Walter Glowacki I think it’s worth twice as much, if not more!
I agree! She greatly underestimated the value of that bracelet.
Walter Glowacki You people make me laugh....are you jewelry experts?...have you looked at it for condition? I could see just from the video that the center sapphire has many chips....it is a soft stone ....
🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
@@southernbelle8920 LOL, you have no idea about appraisals or how auctions work. This is a conservative estimate, and it is only worth as much as someone will pay for it, and at auction, it may not sell at all, sell for more, or sell for less.
7500? More like 27,500 lol.
Seems like with it being platinum and sapphire and diamonds it'd been worth more..
That bracelet is stunning but honestly the diamonds are quite small, and we don't know what the grade on the diamonds, which would contribute to the lower value. I'd keep it though, it's a gorgeous piece.
Spaulding used top quality diamonds
What a beautiful piece of jewelry is to die for
This bracelet is so gorgeous! as a silver smith I can tell you a lot of work went into this gem, at $7500.00 that’s about .75 an hour! No way! No one would sell this piece of art for this amount. The jeweler wouldn’t let it go for that little, he would need to be paid much much more. So for that appraisal to be that low is ridiculous! I couldn’t see any inclusions on that large sapphire, ( of course you can’t see any on TV) but that stone alone would cost about that (maybe a little less).
Just wait until 2020s and it's a century year old!
beautiful sapphire bracelet
It's worth more than that!
A truly beautiful piece of fine jewelry.
Get out of here with that lowball appraisal. I've seen mass produced #1 Barbie dolls go for more than this work of art. Unbelievable!
Honestly, I was expecting an appraisal 8-10X that amount!
In nyc that would retail for 20k easy.
Art Deco. Beautiful. Bioshock anyone?
Must be nice to have great parents... I got dinner and a card with 20 bucks inside of it for being the first in family to get a four year degree.
Hear that.
Lol
M2 lol! However, it was my internal drive that’s helped me through life!!
@Patrick Jones. Maybe that's all they had. If not I'm sorry that happened
If gifting material possessions to children is your definition of what qualifies one as a "great" parent, I'd say you have more learning to do. It's the support you're provided as you grow: helping you grow emotionally, intellectually, and physically into a young adult that matters. Best wishes.
Whattttt, I’d like to know one place that would sell this bracelet for 7.5k.... is she mad?
So Beautiful
Seems low!! Reverse inflation calculation of the $7500 appraisal back to 1920 dollars is $611. I'm guessing that's probably close to what the sale price was at the time. Beautiful bracelet and a steal at $7500.
Lovely
Glad this woman loves this bracelet, it has a family history. I hope she doesn't sell it. Also glad i'm not the only one that thinks its got to be worth more.
Casually saying, "When I finished my PhD.....".
She is definitely from a high fallutin family.
Sometimes they say, it's worth 7k but I would ensure it for 70..
I will buy it right now
"An amazing Tiffany, worth $50,000 or- oh wait, this is a Spaulding bracelet, $7500."
wow
It probably cost 7500 in the 20s!
IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE A TIFFANY TO BE REALLY NICE!!!
Since Covid & taking some of the historical & design value - it most like $14,000 today!
I'd get a 2nd opinion!
This example is more my speed. The highlight videos I’ve watched so far have been like watching some lucky Chap, some lucky Gal, win the lottery.
This woman was happy to hear the value to be $7500.00
My luck would be finding an item and paying $300 and find out its worth $320 WooHoo!!
I think it should be worth more!
I’m surprised it was that low
Ive been told by other antique dealers that they are lower than should be, that can before many reasons. I would love to have it or at least the center stone alone. I guess my family was more on the poor side of things
I expected it to be much higher with the intricate work by hand that this required.
I made some jewelry in an art class once. Mine didn't quite come out as good as this item...lol.
I think the valuation is very conservative. I expected $12,000 +.
$7500? My mom would buy it on the spot for that price. Way under priced estimate
All the comments just make me wish the commentors had their own show!
keep it thats gonna sky rocket
low ball estimate
More
No way it’s 75 hundred.. maybe 75 k.
Gotta love all of these “appraisers” in the comments - lol
I think she meant $75,000
Wow didn't know Tiffany Co was that old...
Ooh this is pretty. I’d wear it.
Would be more than that
they sure undervalue jewelry. I wonder why
Does both the ladies exchanged their voices?
She shows so much passion for her evaluation! NOT!!! ohh goodness me zzzzzzzzzzzzzz
