‘Stranger Things Season 2’ Cast on Easter Eggs and Working with the Duffer Brothers

- Making the second season of a hit show is never easy. Not only are you trying to come up with a cool story and interesting twists and turns, you’re also dealing with fan expectations that can add a lot of pressure to an already difficult situation. If you study TV history, you’ll see many series that have tried and failed to repeat their first season success.
So it makes me incredible happy to say that not only is the second season of Stranger Things fantastic, it might be even better than the first. That’s because the Duffer Brothers have not only raised the stakes for the residents of Hawkins, Indiana, they’ve found interesting and fun character arcs for the entire cast that will keep you on the edge of your seat through the final episode. And while I can’t go into any details about the Season 2 finale…I’ll just say, to me, it was perfect.
A few days ago I got to sit down with Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, and Dacre Montgomery to talk about the making of the second season. During the interview they revealed how filming Season 2 compared to the first season, if they’ve been counting down the days until they can talk about the specifics of Season 2, what was it like working with the different directors on the series and filming different episodes on the same day, Dacre Montgomery’s costume including some fun Easter eggs to look out for, and more. In addition, we talked about who would win in a fight between the younger kids in Stranger Things and the kids in It.

Honestly, Dacre is an astounding actor. I legit got chills when Billy first appeared because it didn't feel like it was acted. It felt like I was watching this dude. And also, Billy is so creepy, and it all felt genuine. Like, respect to Dacre, man.

1:27 can we just take a moment to appreciate that, very few people care if they cut someone off he’s such a sweet guy my gosh
I was in front of him on a flight, and didn’t realize it was him (he had a mask and hat on). He helped me put my bag into the overhead bin and then after the flight, took it down for me without me having to ask. Yes, the eye contact is intense. I thought he was just some friendly Australian.
Natalie is precious, Joe is sweet in every way! What I like about Dacre is people will point out how hot he is, but what I notice is how humble he is when he speaks, he’s not self-absorbed or hot headed, he’s the opposite of his character and that’s just cool!
Either way I think they all did a stellar job this season💙
Edit: Also thank God! The interviewer was respectful and asked questions we all had been wanting to hear.

I honestly think he's going to become more complex in 3. Like we'll discover he's just been protecting Max from his douche of a dad the whole time. Steve was a jerk at first too, but now everyone loves him because they developed the character very well!

When I saw Billy, my first thought was "the writers were still inspired by Stephen King and Billy is their Henry Bowers". What's great about King's IT is that he never tried to excuse how terrible Henry was. Yes, he had an awful dad, but he chose to be a terrible person. I really hope that the writers do the same thing with Billy and don't listen to the thirsty fans. Not every bad character needs redemption, this is boring and cliche. There are hundreds of amazingly well written bad characters. Billy should be one of them.
Hey, as long as he isn't a static character, I'm game. Just looks like they're possibly going for the redemption. Dacre is a great actor that deserves to portray a complex character and with all of the screen time he's gotten so far, it would be a disservice to make him a basic static antagonist.
