  • NF-κB transcription factors can be activated by different pathways. The canonical NF-κB pathway starts with the activation of the TNFα receptor. The activated receptor recruits several intracellular proteins that pass the signal on to a multiprotein complex made up of NF-κB and other proteins. The signal leads to the degradation of NF-κB-inhibiting proteins and thus to the dissociation of NF-κB and its translocation into the nucleus, where it activates the expression of anti-apoptotic genes.

So P65 and P50 do not need to get phosphorylated to activate the Nf-kB pathway, just IkBa that needs to?
