Who's the best left-back in the Premier League? Tell us in the comments!
easily Robertson, been the best in the league for the last 6 years
I cant remember him doing anything the last two seasons @jackjohnson156
Robbo is the best by a mile.
Shaw when he’s fit
Gvardiol - no one even close
Shaw has been at United for 10 seasons...... he's made 191 league appearances. He essentially misses 50% of every season on average. That's shocking.
I mean, that tends to happen when you take a fucking horror tackle (that didn’t even get a red I might add) that snaps your leg in half.
@@AValidPointUHave Carragher had a double break, he recovered well enough, Djibril Cisse twice had a broken leg and recovered, so did Alan Smith, Seamus Coleman and Henrik Larsson. Maybe Shaw's body isn't cut out to be a pro athlete, many aren't (Daniel Sturridge, Abou Diaby, Wilshire, King)
Looking to catch up to recce Jane, or about diary
Ake is criminaly underrated
No, they rate him, but its shut lb, & he isn't one, like Ben White you can say is a rb, you can't say that for Nathan
@kurtsudheim825 I'd still rather have Ake lb cause he's very good there
Coz he ain't pure a LB
@@nicksoneliezer628 even as a cb
Ake plays in the position but he plays more of a cb than lb tbh
Udogie in all fairness has looked class for a 1st season but let's see next season
He's still made some mistakes but he's young but I'd put him 3rd
Antonee Robison honorable mention. Great season
Robbo is the best imo however left backs have not really perform this season unfortunately
Shaw has not had 4 good seasons what is flex talking about?
He has only had two good seasons,Shaw is so overrated
@@Axelblaze1022not overrated at all, just always gets injured
And, Ben Chillwell has ??
Think he meant in his whole career
@@notorious_nrsa Chillwell had 3
robertson the last 7/8 games has been back to his best and when fully fit is easily the best here
I agree 💯
Chelsea here. I cannot stress enough how bad Benjamin chilwell is. Horrid footballer. Was great under a top class coach in tuchel playing left wing back but that was literally only 6 months. Forever injured, bad technically, bad defensively
Chilwell might not be great but he’s at least better than Shaw
@@gary_ksa6681 potatoes potatoes theyre both shit
He's very good going forward, overlaps well and puts a nice ball into the box. Not the best defensively and probably better in a back 5. He's still better than Shaw IMO.
How Chilwell made this list over cucurella is ridiculous…. I expected Rory to have more sense as a Chelsea fan
@@KingDrogba999 Because Cucurella has had about 3 decent games after being rubbish for 2 years.
Turkish with a perfect list, elite ball knowledge.
I don’t get the Justification sometimes is it overall since being at that there clubs or is it bout this season
Simp.
Besides udogie being 2nd
@@Dean-vn8tnthats cause you havent seen his games
@@Hikoplouyr I have he's good still makes some mistakes but he's young but Ake is just better
1. Robertson
2. Udogie
3. Ake
4. Shaw
5. Chillwell
Udogie soon to be #1 ! 😏
Udogie above Ake is criminal
@@oliski7019he's not even 2
@@Dean-vn8tnake isn’t a LB!
@@ddmkthfc8555 he can play lb and is on the list
Not even a mention for Antonne Robinson from Fulham? He's by far top 3 LB in the league!!
LOVE the love Ake is getting. Truly under appreciated before this
Always liked Luke Shaw personally and think he's a good player but he's injured a lot which let's him down
Chiwell has been plagued with injuries almost as badly as Reece James and when he's been fit this season Poch kept trying to play him as a Winger I say his best still is ahead of him if he can get fit and played in position
Good to see Robertson getting some respect. Definitely on the list for all time LB's. I think shaw is a lot better than what he got the credit for here. Amazing lb on his day. Will never be in an all time because he is not close, but injuries are a massive part of that.
Kudos for not having fan tainted glasses. Loving the banter and content. And Robbo is by a country mile the best at the moment.
Big up suga
Big up Suga Shaun
Turkish put his bias aside on this one and showed true ball knowledge:
1. Robertson - Undisputed and his crossing ability is on par with TAA. Defensively, he's solid as well
2. Udogie - Undisputed number 2. His playing style is similar to that of Alphonso Davies in dribbling past players (obviously Davies is better), but Udogie's link up play and forward play is just unbelievable for a player that age (he's got some work to do defensively but that's mostly due to the hyper attacking system he plays in). Still defensively, on 1 v 1, he comes out with the ball a lot of times
3. Ake - Solid defensively. Set Piece nightmare. Think Gvardiol would've been a better player to mention here since he plays in that left back role with Ake in the center these dats
4. Shaw - Defensively okay. Offensively okay. That's when he's fit. He's an average lb with a patch of good games and a lot of bad games. His positioning is one of the worst in the league when defending. Honestly, his positioning is worse than Maguire in my opinion (Maguire sort of makes up for it because of his big frame but Shaw is making the left side a liability when him and rashford were playing together on that side
4. Chilwell - Was good at Leicester. Had excellent crossing but after coming from injury he hasn't hit the same form. The reason I put him tie with Shaw is because Shaw's defensive positioning is terrible while Chilwell as a firm grasp. But Chilwell isn't as good defending 1v1 as Shaw even when he gets his positioning right
Trent is on a different level when it comes to passing and crosses. Not saying robbo is bad but Trent is one of the best passers period
@@jezzazo I Saif crossing ability, not passing. Passing requires vision and execution while crossing is going down the line and putting a decent ball into the box. Obviously taa is better at passing
if chillwell is anywhere other than five then you are nuts
I'd take Chilwell over Shaw when both are fully fit.
@@areebsiddiqui758 that is interesting wow
10:36 🎯
Robbo, from where he came from and what he has done and achieved is unbelievable! Definitely Premier League all time top 3 for me.
Rory I'm not sure if you're really a Chelsea fan....you always talking about Chelsea like we or our players are lucky to be mentioned....your hatred for some Chelsea players both former and present makes u talk about not just Chilwell but other players too....when your mates around you blasts good quality Chelsea players both former and present you don't defend your own....especially the way they defend their own players sometimes
I think at this point we should be ranking the four of you according to ball knowledge and actual honesty
Turkish
Flex
Rory
Whoever the 4th man is
Turkish the only one who ranks these players properly week in week out
Antonee Robinson has been at least a top 3 LB for only this Season
Rank the u23 left backs :
Ait-Nouri, Gvardiol, Hall, Timber, Udogie
How nobody talked about Ait Nouri or thought about him getting on that list is baffling, I am an arsenal fan and I think he is definitely top 3 left backs in the prem this season.
Comparing players before early 2000s is just criminal.
Ball game back then was way more hard and intense, they wingers and stickera who played, compare em to modern strikers is just unfair.
Teams used to play 2 strikers for most of the time, 2 wingers and the quality of em.
Shaw is highly underrated
Has to be bait, severely overrated has had about 1 good season altogether if u add up his performances because he’s never fit for a full season
Haha I think you made a typo
The bst left back in the premier league in the last 3 years is Anthony Robinson of Fulham
I'd say Robbo, Ake, Shaw, udogie then chillwell. Shaw is very underrated because of how mediocre the team is + injuries havent helped.
With Timber its going to be a mystery what kind of player he comes back after an acl injury. So much could go wrong specifically being a fullback. How it affects his speed.
I love how Robertson is getting the respect he deserves.
Honorable mention... Leighton Baines
Shaw played in a euro cup final and scored ahead of Chillwell
1. Robertson
2. Ake
3. Udogie
4. Shaw
5. Chilwell
Why Gvardiol isn't in here? No defender can be worth 90m up until Gvardiol showed up, elite physically and technically and he's only 22..
Zinchenko above Shaw is criminal. Shaw has been our best and most consistent player over the last 7 years barring injury. But then non united fans can’t comment as they don’t watch him play properly.
Ben Chilwell and Luke Shaw are both rubbish lol but Luke Shaw is slightly better
Gvardiol has got to be in there! Maybe at 5th position this season because others may have been better ! Only because I think gvardiol shifts to CB next season.
Robbo first then ake is 100%. Then probably udogie next cus the rest are trash and he’s been quite impressive
If Ake was bought as a Left Back and not Centre Back he would be number 1.
At one point in time, Shaw was considered the best LB in the world. The only other one on that list that could say that was Andy Robertson. The correct rating would be Shaw and Robertson 1 and 2 (I’d take either to be fair), chillwell 3, Ake 4, Udogie 5 and Udogie is only that low because he has only had 1 season in the Prem.
Shaw has never been considered the best LB in the world. He was a promising youngster at Southampton and went to United where he's done very little bar be injured alot. United fans go on about him as though he's Maldini or Lizarazu when in fact he's miles away from Denis Irwin or Patrice Evra.....in fact I'd say Phil Neville was a better player than Shaw.
Shaw was never considered the best left back in the premier league never mind the world
Shaw was considered the best left back in the world? When was this said? Who said this? Are you okay in the head mate? Mentioning him alongside Robertson. Wild wild take.
Although I'm happy to see Robbo topping the list, I still feel it was disrespectful and crazy to put him in a list that has Luke Shaw, Udogie etc etc....Robertson should be on the list of all time premier league LBs, whether he tops the list or not, he deserves to be placed on that list, and not be compared to these lot.
Chelsea Oldly Conseed 5 goals in The All Champions League 21 Sesaon
Big G man should be on this list
The reason why this conversation is so silly is that they're all using different criteria for their lists. Rory is banging on about legacy and totally of their careers while Turkish is compiling his list based on who's the better player right now. Those are two very different lists answering very different questions. Both are kinda right but pointless in this debate format.
Vamos
You got Wayne Rooney on the show?
Up till this day I havent seen shaw's peak😂😂😂
How is chilwell still in these conversations he hasn’t played a decent amount of games since Leicester
Should be Robbo, Ake, Chilwell, Shaw, Udogie…
Chilwell above Udogie?
In what universe?
Luke Shaw is a phenomenal player and his absence is a big reason why United have been so bad this season. Can’t be relied upon sadly and has to be replaced.
Hes a dreadful player
Gvardiol is missing from this list
Manchester utd should go for Tierney. I would hate it but he would be gun for them
Shaw could be argued to be any rank from 1-4, but he’s definitely not 5
Timber is more of a right back than a left back for me
You are right but he will play inverted left back
The best left back THIS season has been Fulham's Robinson.
Arteta won same amount of trophies as brendan rodgers at leisister and he spent 600 million less
Gvardiol is the best LB
Recently bias
Ake is better
@@Dean-vn8tn Ake has barely played at left back all season
I agree, I am confused why ake is on here and gvardiol isn't, considering Gvardiol has played nearly every game at left back this season.
@@sambrown8301 yeah it would’ve made sense last year. but I think all City fans can agree that Gvardiol has already surpassed Ake’s levels from last year? Josko can really be something special
As a United fan, I agree with Turkish this time. Shaw cannot be higher than bottom considering his complete inability to stay fit for half the season
Tyrick Mitchell
when ake was at chelsea academy he was a left back
Udogie
Gvardiol
Robertson
Ake
Mykolenko, he's nice
Gvadiol not even mentioned
Udogie has been better than Roberton this season before he got injured..
No Gvardiol??
Gvardiol not in the list fraudulent videos. Gvardiol has been great all year and only recently people have opened there eyes because he has been scoring however he has been the best lb this season.
Robertson
Ake
Udogie
Chilwell
Shaw
With timber as lb , zini moves into mid, with partey and elneny gone
No Gvardiol, by a country mile the best left back this season....
For the last 3 weeks maybe, he was average at best this year and from week 1 to January he was so poor even Pep was saying it. Yes he's been on fire for a month but that's not enough to say best for a season
@@jeffbeasley8283nah he's been great all season but only now getting recognition
@bluemoon1716 then why was your manager saying he's not good enough to play CB yet. Pep literally said he wasn't good enough or technically at the level required to play next to Ruben. So he stuck him LB which, if you ever played football you know, you put your deadest players at fullback. The last 4-5 weeks he's been cooking but to say his 2023 form was great is just a lie. I watched all the games u dropped points in and he was directly responsible for like 80% of the goals you conceded
@bluemoon1716 That doesn't mean he can't go on to be the best LB next year, although I feel like Pep will probably move him to CB next season. I dunno but he is a baller I'm not denying that, just he was poor 2023. Like Havertz for Arsenal u know, dogwater 2023 and the last few months balling out. Doesn't make him the best striker tho you feel me
@@jeffbeasley8283 if you go by that logic, why would they include Luke Shaw, even get a mention, he has hardly played
Timber is number 1 if you saw him before he got injured
Udogie is better than current robbo imo. Obviously not prime one
Timber will cook.
How's Chilwell on this list, Chilwell is a Championship player at best now
Timber this timber that. Don’t even think he’s as good as everyone makes out tbh. Hardly played a minute and he’s a visionary. Bollocks
Bring Shuan back 💯👏
Top 5:
Robertson
Shaw
Robinson
Estupinan
Ake
udogie ?
Gvardiol?
As a Chelsea fan chill well is crap. Ake criminally underrated should be 2nd easily.
Timber in the midfield.
I swear half these clowns have put Shaw over Andy on there Liverpool United combined 11’s 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Only Chelsea fans believes Chilwell was on Reece James level. His only good season was at Leicester. Benefitted from a lack of competition. He’s not even as good at left back as cucurella 😂😂😂 but favouritism towards English lads is so obvious. The year they won the champions league was NOT because of Chilwell 😂😂😂 having to play a back three literally expresses his lack of defensive acumen. Poch ONLY plays him left mid which shows that he’s only good at running and crossing. He is Digne standard. That UCL season his stats weren’t great and neither were his defensive displays. Don’t forget having Kante. 🤡
Why are they talking like Bumchenko is good
Udogie should be 1
Odogie the best one
Gvardiol better then all
Shaw has not had 1 season where he was elite for a season
Where zinchenko the best left back is not even on the list wtf 😭😭🤦🏾♂️
Zinchenko is absolutely shite as a defender and has cost us critical points several times
United fans want people to treat Shaw like Reece gets treated! Thing is both get injured a lot, but Reece has managed to show everybody that he is one of the best in the world! While Shaw barely ever gets called best in the league
Saka is a better LB than 4/5 of these players
Is this supposed to be best 5 LB in the league currently?! lol
Nah, Robertson isn't the best in the league he's the best LB in the world. He's been consistent for 6-7 years and his assists as a defender is a joke. No-one can compare
Yes, I'd say Alaba, Davies and Robertson have been the best 3 LBs over the last 5 years by some distance.
Gvardiol should be on here and not Ake
How's chilwell better than shaw😂
I have no idea why people say luke Shaw for years now. And r James for Chelsea. 2 overrated.
What is Turkish smoking on?
what has timber done for him to 'that guy'
did you watch him at Ajax, did you watch him during pre-season and those 60 minutes against forest ? just a question
@@AnarXhyyy7 'those 60 seconds against forest' my god u arsenal fans. Yes I have watched him. Can be excited but 'that guy' after the Dutch league and a minute cameo slow ur roll
he showed serious potential before his injury, but the hype is probably increased due to the lack of quality in that position
@@xperialmemphis6039 « The Dutch league » like it’s some sort of insult. Explain to me why Bayern Munich wanted him, Manchester United wanted him and if he’s not that guy why do all the top tier respected football analysts in the Netherlands and in Europe told us he was on of the best up and coming defenders in world football
@@AnarXhyyy7 my god you arsenal fans are something else. All I'm saying is that sample size is barely anything to say 'he'd be that guy'. Many other players have attracted interest from United and bayern and have flopped so again that means nothing and the Dutch isn't an insult. It's a different ball-park
luke shaw is so much better than ben chillwell its not even close to me
