When arsenal got beat 8-2 by United it was spoken about for half a decade, United’s 7-0 loss isn’t spoken about nearly as much.
United going 10 years without a premier league title or Chelsea 7 years and having little prospects of one in the future is barely mentioned. Arsenal not winning a title in a while has been thrown in their face for the past 10 years.

Actually very surprised this is a question. Every singles channel I go on mentions Arsenal in some sort of negative manner. Why does everyone act like it’s only Arsenal fans that are like this? Every Fanbase has unbearable fans.
People don’t like them probably because of AFTV but there are many many many Liverpool fans on different YT channels that are bigger knobs than all of AFTV combined, genuinely have never had a football discussion with a Liverpool fan without it getting heated and that includes close friends, most discussions I’ve had with Liverpool fans was probably back before klopp when they were dog shit and they still thought they were great and could win everything because they had Gerrard, there isn’t a more unbearable fan base in the world never mind just in England.

The banter is forced through fear. That's why you had man utd fans and pundits like Gary Neville celebrating when man city won the title last season. The current banter clubs are chelsea and man utd. A cup doesn't change this. Arsenal's 3 FA cups in 4 seasons wasn't seen as enough because Arsenal weren't playing CL. They call it Wigan's cup and placed top 4 as a better achievement. Now that Arsenal are playing CL and actually challenging, trophies are suddenly the most important thing, CL spots are not seen as a big deal and not being better than City is seen as failure. Meanwhile chelsea are forever sat in 11th with man utd keeping 5th/6th warm.
I see Turkish's point on it'd be us. I'd say Utd, Arsenal Liverpool, Chelsea and then city. The main 3 of English football are the ones that get the most criticism and banter, Arsenal are definitely in the top 2. City do a trble & West Ham win their first trophy since the '80 FA Cup final (against us) but were the ones getting the limelight

It's because Arsenal were the only southern club to challenge the northern clubs historically. Football was always dominated by northern teams, and only Arsenal disrupted this. So you have Liverpool, United and the rest hating Arsenal, plus all the other London based teams hating Arsenal. Teams like Chelsea and Spurs were practically invisible for most of the history of division 1 football in England, United and Liverpool fans don't care about them and neither do the rest of the northern teams. Only reason Chelsea is even in the debate is Abramovich pumping his billions in, it's more bitterness.

From the international fan perspective: I think worldwide arsenal & United have the most fans in my perspective. Also looking from past intense rivalry perspective I would say
1. Man United - I can't stand them since am an Arsenal fan
2. My club Arsenal - rival fans can't wait for us to lose, loved our demise & even now as we improve our stance they want to ridicule us for missing on the title & follow our every game hoping for us to slip up.
3. Chelsea - even now nobody cares about their downfall
4. Liverpool- they won 1 PL in 30 years so they were not a big threat. I'm starting to hate them in recent years under Kloop because they are becoming more arrogant

I think one of the reasons a club is hated is down to the Manager and his personality, especially if he is at the club for a considerable time (E.g. SAF at Man Utd or Mourinho in his 2 spells at Chelsea). Arsenal under Wenger were not hated as much as now under Arteta because Wenger had a calm and composed nature while Arteta is highly temperamental. Even Liverpool under Klopp isn't hated as much as say under Benitez. Same with City and Pep. If City had a fiery manager like Conte or Jose, they would have been hated far more.
Its not even the fans, its the fans online. Rivals go online and get pissed at people in videos, comments etc. Its actually very strange. Its not the plumber down the road thats an Arsenal fan. Its never real people.

What I would say about Arsenal is that they don't have a national pundit in the corner on the main national broadcaster in Sky which shapes narratives for days, weeks, months and years to come. That shit really fucking matters. Gary Neville constantly trying to undermine and destabilise Arteta for yrs by saying 4th is the absolute best he can do or that he fears for Arteta's job early into the following season just b/c he narrowly missed out on top 4, this at the same time whilst he hyped up his mate Solskjaer and say he would win the title before Klopp, a world class manager, is incredibly sickening to watch. Because the national footballing narrative is shaped by clowns like him. There's no one on Sky in Arsenal colours constantly trying to attack or destabilize Manchester United.

@@Hello-ms6mz I am just pointing out how Arsenal are at a disadvantage in terms of the national narrative. Whenever Utd have a shocker, it turns into a Gary Neville therapy session on Sky where he rants at the Glazers with little blame going towards Utd manager or players despite spending huge amounts of money. Yet this same broadcaster, even when Arsenal win a big game, say Liverpool recently, we have Carragher incredibly salty and shouting to get down the tunnel. No one ever said that to Klopp or Liverpool players at Anfield after a big win.

As an Arsenal fan, I only truly hated Chelsea when Mourinho made it personal. The irony was the prick was attacking Wenger in his late 50s and into his 60s for being a loser when Wenger sacrificed everything by moving stadiums and had no money to spend for a decade for the long term betterment of Arsenal and yet Mourinho himself was finished by age 53 as a top level manager capable of winning league titles.

How many teams in (and not in) the PL consider Man Utd a hated rival? Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Leeds. Chelsea fans don’t like us, Newcastle fans seem to dislike us more than the other ‘big 6’ teams.
None of the others can really say that much. Arsenal and Liverpool have plenty of rivals too, but almost every team seems to have beef with Man Utd.
Both Rory and Turkish can be right. It’s the fans and the club. They feed into each other and rival fans hate the lot. Anytime Arsenal are doing well it irks everyone on the outside looking in because of the history and rivalries but likewise the term “banter club” should 100% be labeled on Man U but Arsenal still has it because of the perception of its fans.
Arsenal by far, it's not close. From social media pile-ons to TalkSport and Sky Sports, BeIN Sports, Rio Ferdinand, Gary Neville, Richard Keys, CZcamsrs etc. Arsenal are ridiculed far more for anything they do and given far less credit than any other club.
Most recent eye opening example was the celebration fallout. Klopp runs down the touchline to celebrate and pulls his hamstring, all the neutrals love it, great passion-God forbid Arteta runs a few yards outside his technical area celebrating a last minute clincher in a title clash. I couldn't believe Arsenal were being painted as pathetic and too emotional by the mainstream media after an impressive win against Liverpool with no analysis on how well they played. I actually felt sorry for them.
Taking off an unbiased lens, I think it's Arsenal and it's not close.
Arsenal aren't even 2nd buddy, open your eyes a bit and you'll see how much less your non-rivals hate you as much as Chelsea and United

But I would make an argument that city are to. Fans have their teams rivalries and most hated clubs, but that attitude fans have towards city is distain for their existence, it's like 'we'd rather pretend you don't exist than give you the dignity of hate' which is in a lot of ways, worse. Also a big part of their success, they have the least rivalries of the challenging teams.

As an ARENAL fan i have never hated, chelsea,liverpool and city but definitely united. they have stopped us winning so many times, 8-2 defeat, champions league semi final exist, ended our undefeated streak, bought prime van persie list goes on.

I am an Arsenal fan but I think it was Chelsea as the most hated. I understand putting United first and I actually hate United more than I hate tottenham mainly because United has always been the bigger threat. If I were from North London, I would most likely hate Spurs the most. So for me, Its United, Chelsea, Arsenal. Liverpool then City since City was mentioned but both Spurs and Leeds are more hated than City.
Rory is old enough to know Chelsea were also heavily invested in when Matthew Harding was about. Roman took it to the next level. For the majority of Chelsea history they were a mid table club. Chelsea won four major trophies in 90 years. They didn't win a FA cup until 1970. The majority of their history is recent. They are new money.

Rory Scrub Jennings trying to manipulate history books again. Chelsea got bought when they were in Champions League, but that stint in the Champions League was unusual and unprecedented for Chelsea. They weren't really that big a club. And they got bought only because they were in their by luck.
City being in the lower division was unusual as well but it always gets spoken about like that was normal before the takeover. City have basically always been a top flight side.
