I totally agreed with everything you've said about Serbia 🇷🇸. Superb performance 5/5. Love the emotion, the stage, rock, and her facial expression. Best song overall for me. Ireland 🇮🇪 was very effective, too; and loved Ukraine 🇺🇦 and Slovenia 🇸🇮 . Hope all these countries do well in Grand Final. Good luck.

Top three in the polls right now are Switzerland, Croatia, and Ukraine. Switzerland is, one a purely personal level, not my thing. I can definitely get into Croatia but to me it sounds a bit like Rammstein with a different vocalist. Still really good. My favorite of the three is Ukraine. Beautiful song, great vocals, and such an emotional performance.

I disagree with many of them. I understand that you want to use the whole scale and 1/5 doesn't necessarily mean your ears were bleeding. But I think Polands and UKs vocals were worse that any other. You rate them a 3 and 4 but rate Lithuania, Australia and Cyprus a 1?

Yeah, she danced and still managed to sing better than Johnny Logan who was just standing there and managed to bottle the big note. Yeah, yeah, he is a legend and is 69, but if you're not able to give your best as a singer, stop singing in public. Simple. I was quite sad, because he is a legend and I expected that he will casually slay his performance. Maybe he bottled it on purpose because he had to sing Euphoria, instead one of his songs. 🤦‍♂️

Pretty glad Slovenia, Ukraine and Croatia qualified, I liked all of them. Portugal and Luxemburg were top notch as well.

Thank you for your reviews and analysis. Great job!
I am sharing my OWN, PERSONAL reviews being respectful of other's reviews and preferences.
    1. Cyprus : Silia Kapsis, Liar.- The only act that I got wrong. I had it as an NQ. Surprised when it was anounced as Q. Benefited from Greece not performing. In my opinion.- If Austria: Kaleen, We Will Rave and/or Georgia: Nutsa Buzaladze, Firefighter qualify for the Grand Final, Cyprus will not have a chance.
    2. Serbia : Teya Dora, Ramonda.- Beautiful song. Great performance.
    3. Lithuania : Silvester Belt, Luktelk.- Solid performance with thundering backing track.
    4. Ireland : Bambie Thug, Doomsday Blue.- Vocals were excellent. Dramatic and impactful staging and performance.
    5. Ukraine : Alyona Alyona and Jerry Heil, Teresa & Maria.- Excellent vocals overall. Epic performance with outstanding and memorable staging.
    6. Poland : Luna, The Tower.- Bad vocals. A hot mess. Vocals were off. Twice she laid down on the floor of the stage to be on top of the horse projected on the LEDs on the floor of the stage. Too much going on the stage and disjointed with overpowering backing track taking over the lead. I think the mix was bad. Also, the meaning of the song lost.
    7. Croatia : Baby Lasagna, Rim Tim Tagi Dim.- High energy and engaging. Vocals have improved. We might see a repeat of last years voting where juries selected Sweden with Loreen performing Tattoo; and televote selected Finland with Käärijä performing Cha Cha Cha.
    8. Iceland : Hera Björk, Scared of Heights.- Outdated and boring with minor vocal issue. I did like the backup singers on the stage.
    9. Slovenia : Raiven, Veronika.- Simple staging with impressive operatic vocal performance.
    10. Finland : Windows95man, No Rules!.- Clearly, a televote pick. Vocals were off on some parts. We will see what the juries think.
    11. Moldova : Natalia Barbu, In the Middle.- Beautiful song and good vocal performance but too static and boring when compared with other songs.
    12. Azerbaijan : Fahree feat. Ilkin Dovlatov, Özünlə apar.- Bland, none exciting or stimulating performance with static staging.
    13. Australia : Electric Fields, One Milkali (One Blood).- HORRENDOUS and atrocious vocal performance! Uninspiring staging. I got the impression she gave up the first time she realized she missed a note. It went downhill from there.
    14. Portugal : Iolanda, Grito.- I was not completely convinced that it would qualify as it was a televote only selection. The vocal performance was impressive.
    15. Luxembourg : Tali, Fighter.- Good, solid performance overall.
Q1. United Kingdom: Olly Alexander, Dizzy.- Vocals were off. I am not sure if the cause was the body pack transmitter/receiver falling off. Out of control performance with too much energy and adrenaline taking over the vocals. It is going to be tougher to go against Sweeden if he struggles again with the vocals at the Grand Final. Let's just hope it will not be a repeat of Mae Muller vocal performance at Eurovision 2023.
Q2. Germany: Isaak, Always On The Run.- Better than I expected but I do not think that it will end in the Top 10.
Q3. Sweden: Marcus & Martinus; Unforgettable.- Good overall performance. For me, staging is a bit over the top with too much happening but it is what a pop song requires.
The World is full of singers but only a few can sing lead live. Studio gadgets and trickery will never replace vocal ability, craft and technique. It might be fine to enhance and embellish the melody and harmonies in moderation. I also do not value or appreciate the excessive use of auto-tune and pitch correcting software which is undoubtedly used excessively in the backing track vocals and which I am sure some would like to use on live performances at Eurovision which is not permitted.

Poland's song was a real shame. The studio version is great, with all the production on it, but it became clear that she couldn't manage it live. Unfortunately, the solution appears to have been to have the music drown out her voice to mask the cracks, but that made the entire song fall apart because the vocal melody is key to the song's hook. Such a shame! I really hoped she'd be able to surprise us yesterday.

Apparently she was recovering from laryngitis she had recently so I'm not sure if she was completely recovered. But I think she probably would have done better if she didn't move. Singing while moving is very difficult and requires a lot of work and experience that she still lacks but with a few more years she should be able to do it. Anyway, I applaud the courage to try and even sing while lying on the floor in the horse's part. Although her voice didn't shine enough, I think it was good enough considering the choreography.Definitely agree with the 3/5 you gave her Georgina ❤

I've been following you for years and always agree with you. But this year i really can't understand what you're talking about. Silvester Belt 1/5 but Luna 3/5? I loved Luna's song but she didn't sing well. Bambi 5/5? The performance is eefective of course but her vocals weren't great. Cyprus was shaky throughout the whole song too yet 5/5? Hera Bjork has won MANY competitions because everyone praises her incredible voice and yet you've always said it's not good. Saying Olly's singing was good is the ultimate proof we must have watched different performances cause oh boy, he was completely bad from start to end. I really came for a professional opinion but I have to agree with previous comments, it's personal taste only. Which is perfect, don't get me wrong, you have every right to share your faves with the world but they don't sound accurate at all, i'm sorry :(

Giving only 1/5 to Silia, 3/5 to Luna and 4/5 to Olly for their respective vocal performances is... surprising.

I agree Olly's vocals weren't the best, but i saw somewhere that his mic- pack fell off mid performance and he was struggling trying to get it back on: I think that's why his vocals could've been better

I swear Poland was paying YT for ads of their song or their cover of say Slimane. It was so frequent a week ago. The problem I found was her voice lacked punch. This was a Zara Larsson song without her. Also, Azerbaijan I couldnt help but think of Desert Rose by Sting...

Silvester is very talented and the show is a full package, I don't where the 1/5 comes from?????? Silia also was great even tho she had la la la in here song, she is only 17!!!! she doesn't need super mature grown up women song and lyrics and I think la la la fits perfectly cuz it is a fun song...UK I don't know what is with the live perfomance, he always have some issues with mic and it is a bit annoying by now, since the studio version is great and I love it...Bambie is interesting, but now my cup of the for the genre of music, but still great visually perfomed for message they wanted to send, Luna song also, I love it but something went wrong live...Serbia was on point this year and loved it so much!! Croatia was also on the point and just because he doesn't sing pop or opera song it doesn't mean his vocals are bad, as a vocal coach you should know that each genre of music has it's own way of singing and vocal range and comparing heavy metal for example and opera singer amd saying opera singer is talented doesn't make any sense, opera singer probably cannot sing heavy metal songs and vice versa, all singers are talented in their own way...also undrrating lyrics pf croatian song is criminal, do you even know about they are talking??? it is about heavy and serious topiv not only for croatians, but for many people that have to leave their homeland and go to forgein country in a look for a better life, just because it is written in simplified form and broken down to fit the melody and rithm it doesn't make the lyrics bad, we had winning songs or high raking songs with even worse and stupider lyrics and nobody was calling them bad or silly, croatian song isn't silly or funny, it is serious one, just because it is in not popular genre and has a bit different sound, it doesn't mean it should not be taken seriously (this applies to other songs this year)...also not everyone is native english speaker of fluent in it so not always lyrics of the song can be perfect and that should be taken in consideration as well, overall half of this video just disregarded good points about the songs due some personal bs there is many great vocal coaches and I'd recommend to everyone watchimg ThePeaceAround instead who is honest and actually understands genre differences and qualities of each and judges more fair

im happy that youre so open-minded to change your opinion on Ireland and publicly admit it! a lot of more pop-oriented esc reaction channels just stick to the ireland bashing and ignoring how well of a performance we actually saw on tuesday.

I truly hope Ireland wins the whole contest. I was bewitched by Bambie Thug, the performance was perfection both vocally and visually. I also almost teared up with Ukraine's powerful performance, and quite enjoyed Lithuania's song, too. I'm not a fan of the kind of over-produced pop music Sweden's song is this year, but I might like an instrumental version of it. Germany's song was also maybe a little too polished. Croatia's song was catchy, but it reminded me a lot of the kind of rock music that was around in the early 2000s, and it wasn't very innovative. I love Olly Alexander's voice, but it wasn't at its best last night - but I'm hoping he gets a good performance on Saturday.
I know Finland's song (I'm from Finland) is dividing the opinions this year, but I think our boys nailed the performance. Henri's vocals were on point, and as unrefined as I might be, I was smiling after the performance. This is the kind of song and performance that makes us here in Finland tick, and we already know that instead of trying to please the entire world, it's best we stick to doing our own thing, and if we're lucky, some folks like it. If not, at least we're having fun.
