Sie hören am Beginn der österlichen Bußzeit das Stück "Plaint" (Klage) des amerikanischen Komponisten und Organisten Gordon Young (1918-1998) aus seinen 12 Kompositionen für Orgel.
Dieses Stück überzeugt sehr durch seine musikalische Dichte und das prägnante Motiv, das im ersten und dritten Teil wiederkehrt.
Im Mittelteil ändert Young die Taktart und sorgt so für einen spannenden Kontrast, in dem die Achtelnoten die flehende Bitte um Gnade zum Ausdruck bringen.
Konrad Schäfer spielt an der Schönefeld-Orgel der Kirche St. Josef in Ilmenau (aufgenommen am 16.01.2024).

At the beginning of the Time of Lent you will hear the piece "Plaint" by the American composer and organist Gordon Young (1918-1998) from his 12 compositions for organ.
This piece is very convincing due to its musical density and the striking motif that recurs in the first and third parts.
In the middle section, Young changes the time signature, creating an exciting contrast in which the eighth notes express the imploring request for mercy.
