This is definitely one of the best songs ever written. 2024, we all know we’re still listening to this classic
For fans who collected every Queen studio album, the first 4 albums had loads of multitracking and heavy rock riffs. For the ease of a live performance and remaining true to the melody, the vocals parts were slowed down. The instrumental breaks are very close to the original with some extra heavy chords and deviations. Freddie sounding powerful and menacing while Roger hit the high notes live as well as he did on record.
Four greatest geniuses, lights of our era, people who bring joy to our and subsequent generations.Thank God that there will always be Queen! 👑❤
Those of us that were born too late to see Queen (with Freddie Mercury) live really missed out on something special. Just watching these videos on CZcams is a better show than a lot of the concerts that I’ve saw live. Freddie Mercury had to be one of the best live performers ever.

IMO, the single most underrated Queen song of them all. Also, this is the song that ended up inspiring the "Ogre Battle" franchise of video games. One also called "Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen"

This is from 1975. The band was formed in 1968 as Smile, Freddie joined in 1970 and the name changed to Queen. John Deacon joined a year later, their first album came out in 1973. Freddie died in 1991, and John left in the late 90’s, because he was ripped apart mentally because of Freddie’s death. They are in no way shape or form a new band.

I saw Queen in 1973 as support to Mott The Hoople and then again in Nov 74, not too long before this concert, both times at Lancaster University. I always remember their brutal volume level, boy they were LOUD!
It was like being assaulted!
I always thought that it would have been great to see them touring that earlier stuff. As it happened, I didn’t get to see them until 77. It was a fantastic show.
EDIT: I would have loved to have seen MTH, as I was more familiar with them than Queen in the early/mid 70s. Never did see them live
@@timmillan6701 At the 73 show with MTH they were pretty much unknown. Quite a lot of the audience were in the bar area waiting for the main event and missed an explosive show. Ian Hunter didn't seem best pleased when MTH took to the stage, with shouts of 'we want Queen' ringing out..!
I LOVE THIS SONG!! The Queen II album is brilliant and my favorite! The Japanese role-playing video games share the name with the track - OGRE BATTLE. Later installments of the video game used titles such as MARCH OF THE BLACK QUEEN & LET US ALL CLING TOGETHER! 😊

I love Queen Official is good that they are posting all types of stuff. They mostly showing the big guitar stuff, but the bass and the drums are a big part of the harmonies of Queen as a whole band. In this song like in all Mercury written songs he did the arrangements in the music, providing participation of all together. Sometimes he do the guitar riffs on piano to let Brian know how he want the guitar be played as well with the others. But the praise is always to the guitar and Freddie voice. Underrated song, underrated bass and drums players. It is magic because they all are genius.

The whole problem with musical performers is that out of a huge number of songs, only 10 become popular. And everything else is forgotten. And if you ask on the street: “What songs of the Queen do you know?” Many will answer “Bohemian Rhapsody, we will rock you and so on.” But "Ogre Battle" is something else. Something different. Something wild, something young and daring. Unusual. But cool!
