    Always a great idea...making an engine let alone a diesel become dependent on starting fluid.

      @rrknl5187 Před 3 lety +3

      @@thepurdychannel8866 It can be........
      If you squirt too much in, it'll pre-ignite. This is where the fluid burns before the piston hits top dead center and it tries to bash it down while it's still rising up. Lots of stress on just about everything.
      The second thing is too much fluid will wash the oil from the cylinder walls and the piston rings will scratch and score the walls.
      You need to be careful and patient and use the right amount or bad things will happen........lol.

    I love these clowns that use starting fluid by the gallon. If only they knew what damage it does. I found using WD-40 works just as well and doesn't wash the oil off the cylinders

    another interesting engine is the sub then train dual crank shaft 6 cylinder12 opposed piston Fairbanks Morse H-10-44 Diesel Engine. The museum of the Amerian Railroad has one that does switching for the collection. Lot of power for the size and weight. Others made similar designs.

    God most of those engines must be pretty Knackered if it takes that for them to fire up,that man using Easystart like was no tomorrow to get it to fire up is lucky he didn’t snap the Crank the amount he poured into that air intake. When an engine gets to that stage in its life that it needs to turn over that many times to run its Not a good sign of its condition.

    Funny how many am I starting at the old engines without changing out the oil 30 weight motor oils with a king move at the time the sad thing is that was a non detergent 30 weight so if you put detergent oil into it it will smoke like a bitch you have to put synthetic oil in now
