All my cameras plug into the NVR. Do you have a specific question about a switch? It is easy enough to do, gives you some flexibility that you don't get with plugging right into the NVR; like easier firmware updates, viewing options and a few more. I'm home most of the time, so having them plugged into NVR is not an issue.
