Watched the video yesterday
Played this morning
Clubbed up on a couple of occasions to play the back number never flew the green and never came up short
Great tip
Thank you Mark
This is what it’s all about
I've watched all of your videos, this has got to be in the top 10. Great stuff, boys. Loving the stats view and getting golfers to understand percentages and such. Please keep it up.
“R10” after many years of playing a barely passable game of golf I am now taking lessons, this would be a fantastic piece of kit to improve my game, loving the stats.
Excellent review.
This is pure gold. Can learn a lot from you guys talking through your round. Most importantly you keep the moral high and laughs going. Great content and for sure unrivaled on youtube. Love it.
Nice to see you boys back out on the course again instead of discussing stats etc in the studio. Lovely course, nice sound of bird song (and the odd donkey) and feel of an early morning round, nothing finer. Have to say I miss the days of the Muppets course vlogs with Dan and Rory.
Been following your videos for many many years and they just get better! All your tips have helped me improve massively and yesterday I shot my best round ever, a 2 over 73!! Couldn’t believe it! Keep up the great tips guys and who knows .... can I break 70 sometime soon! 😍⛳️
Haven't watched one of your videos in a while. I really enjoyed it thanks. No coffee makers, kids, over editing and larking about. Will subscribe again. 👍
Gotta re - watch a lot of these vlogs even from back in the day to get the nuance of club selection and how you guys deal with wind, the lies etc. Just good content bruh 👌
This was great, I like the longer format ( I know youtube likes videos to be in the 30 min range) the conversational tone was cool as well just you and Matt out on the course for a little chat and some golf. (when things get more back to normal, you have got to get some of the guys on and get back to a competitive match or two)
For about 2 weeks now I’ve been using the back number and it’s shocking how much it has helped. Every now and then I’ve gone long, but rarely and there was no issue chipping from there. Great stuff boys!
Great news thanks for sharing.
Mark Crossfield You’re welcome! Thanks for continuing to give such helpful tips!
really appreciate the addition of the stats and graphics to the videos. Thanks!
Top quality content Mark/Coach so much to learn in this one and loving the longer time length too. Keep at it boys 👏🏾👍🏾
Great video guys! Love the use of the ‘intended shot path’ indicator, and talking us through what you are trying to do with each shot..? Keep up the good work...👏🏽👍🏽
Love those little flippy ball retrievers in the holes....smart design. I'm okay never going back to taking the flag out.
i love the graphics you add while your on the course.
They're definitely awesome! Gives us a bunch of ideas to improve our content!
I enjoyed the video guys but it has been many years since you guys were amateurs. The majority of golfers watching this, are like me, trying to find centre of the green and trying to avoid the one bad miss area on approach. There was a great point Mark made regarding trying to encourage people to not only hit the green but put it inside the three putt range. That is about all we amateurs can manage, very very few club golfers play the way you two can. Just making a friendly point, love you guys as always!
Thanks for your comment. Not sure we made it clear the data this is based on is from golfers of all abilities playing now 👍
@@MarkCrossfield Thanks Mark for your kind reply. Yes it was clear that your data set was inclusive of abilities. I think my point was poorly made. Players of your ability strike the ball lovely and 99% of the time how you want to strike it. You also have phenomenal ability from 200 yards. If you were to come to RND on a Saturday medal and collect the data, the majority, overwhelming majority, of approach shots left short would be through poor ball striking and not using the wrong yardages. You and coach have decades of experience as coaches so I don't need to tell you the thought processes of club golfers, you two know the typical faults and I totally agree that coming up short will be the pattern but I just wanted to point out that strike is the club golfers inconsistency and we perhaps are better to keep it simple; yardage to the middle, guard against the one obvious area of trouble and strike the ball well.
Ive been watch you guys for years now nice seeing mark smashing them draws represent us oldies
Particularly good camera work on 18.58 to 19.02 to see the shot taken through the trees and the balls path. Really enjoyable, thanks Mark and Coach! 😃
I'd say keep going in this direction but I've said this recently, reminds me of classic Lockey and Crossfield. Thanks.
50:41 that made my day! So slick. You guys are awesome!👍🏼
„I HATE LONG LEFT“ love the course Vlogs. And even more the long ones. The vid is great to show the effectiveness of strokes gained. Coach was „long left“ so much, but with being so far up the hole he managed to get up and down so often with „easy shots“ (meaning to not have 200 yrds into the green. instead only short pitches). Great vid will try back of the green yrds
Love the long videos bruh, also great editing with the on-screen visuals!
I love the conversations you guys have. I can relate to so much of what your talking about in the first 5 mins. I have a nice little pull/draw in my irons that can go on about 20 yards like Matt but it's new to me, and I struggle to aim up the right and be confident because of my 20 years of push cuts being my bad shot. Love the content guys. I watch every videos, bell icon and thumbs up!
Just received my Shot Scope V3, have not seen a good explanation of what you do on the green when putting and collecting you ball from the hole, great video 👍🏻✌🏻
Did this last night. Clubbed up on nearly every approach. Hit more greens and only went slightly long on a couple but had worse putts as most of my greens slope back to front! Definitely worth keeping in mind for some holes and depending on pin positions etc
The conversation on the last tee is really what drives it home for me. Always more opportunity for birdies from 75yds out vs. 175yds.
Mark, only 16 mins in, but I think the discussion you have on 3rd tee is brilliant. The added in graphics with the 210 tee shot and 150in approach dispersion overlay really supports the conversation. Maybe a follow up vid could be other ways to attack the hole. So like dispersion of a driver at 282 with 100 yard approach. But of course that leads to discussions of the misses from the driver. Very good stuff
Good to see you guys also enyoing the entire golf course...not just the fairways and greens. Very relatable😅
So good to see you both playing thoughtful proper golf, great camera work too.
51 minute video. LOVE IT!! More please.
Love the longer vids and you guys just playing golf with a bit of stats. Keep it up :)
Great video! I’m loving the talks you’re having about distances, directions and so on... gooood stuff as always. Thx guys
It’s great to see how good the two of you get along makes the game fun also want to thank coach bought the same putter like his love it.
Great start to my last morning at work for the week. Fresh coffee and a 51min vid from the Muppets. Great info from Shotscope and a lesson in how to use that data to improve your game. #AlwaysGolfingAlwaysLearning
Just played a quick 9 after work trying to go for back yardage and it really helped my greens is reg were up 10%. Did have some monster puts though lol
Classic Crossfield... We know what you're doing. Coach cracking us up. Go Army
Great video. I've got a GPS and try to think a bit like this depending on slope and wind. I've started to test and push myself to be more aggressive instead of using it just to hit the middle of the green
really loving these kinds of videos. shot tracers and the graphics are awesome also
I hate long left too, usually find that one when its out of bounds on the left. Double whammy all the time. Loving these types of video's I get to learn at the same time as being entertained.
Guys that is really serious good golf going on, also really enjoyable listening to your thoughts and what your trying to achieve with your shots, really enjoyed the vlog.
Such a delight... Great follow up vlog to the last!
Implemented the longer shot and was much more consistent at being closer to pin high or slightly long in today’s round. Only had a couple short, and that was mostly due to poor contact. Once I kicked “ego” to the side, it was easier to select the proper club and improve my score. 👍🏾🤙🏾
This is something I struggled with for some time. The thought of having to hit an 8 iron from 140 yards made me feel weak. But like you said, when you're pin high it doesn't matter what you used to get there!
On the Fringe Golf I can get my 8 iron to 140+ if the stars are aligned...or out on the range. Ha! I used my 8 for 135 and got better and more consistent results today. Plus, I didn’t feel like I had to stand on it like when I was trying to hit it 140-145, so my swing was a lot better throughout the round. Take Care!
Brilliant video. It is interesting to really watch and listen as bofe of y'all are generally avoiding the pointless short miss, but *sometimes* it is better and you point that out. My course has just be redone (to an extremely high and brutally difficult standard) and the greens are *rock hard*: unless it has recently rained a ton, one absolutely must play the front of the green on anything other than a back pin with the exception of a few holes with a hazard right at the front. I'd love to see how you MC and Coach would play our course.
Great video Mark.
Could you do one looking at the role of the left thumb in the swing? Only way I can square the face with the longer clubs is by snapping the club through with the left thumb.
Really enjoying the on screen annotations, camera angles can make it quite hard to see the target line etc...
Another excellent video Mark, really enjoyed this, lots of good tips in there!
Thank you for the video and the excellent editing. Really educational.
I really like the "in video" graphics. Really helps
Great video guys. Nice length to it as well. Keep up the great work
Super info / insights into stats and course management. Loved it. Thanks
Both of your games have evolved nicely...Cheers
There's like 3 youtube golf channels I religiously watch but you guys are so far winning on how many times I've been caught at work watching 😂😂😂
Haha
Hi Gents, enjoying the learning curve you are taking us through currently. Hopefully will take some stuff away to help me take the odd couple of shots off my round. Another question i wanted to ask............ I'm not big on warming up pre round but know it's important. Would you work on having a shot shape in mind on the range pre round, like matt is here ideally wanting to play a cut ? Or just go with how your hitting it that morning as a "stock shot" (I know you can't play stock shots for every shot!) .......... cheers for all the knowledge sharing through lockdown, i've loved it!
This an yesterday's have been both entertaining and informative content, containing real practical advice that is directly applicable to high handicappers like me. Thanks.
Definitely agree! We're more mid handicap but like you said the info applies to all handicaps. Hopefully can translate to more entertaining content for us also!
Interesting how you guys both talk yourselves out of hitting more club. It’s certainly the same type of thoughts I have when playing. I’m half way through so far and you’ve come up short a lot. Easy to see why the averages are that way round
Really enjoyed the talk and strategy. Very helpful.
Fascinating again, Mark and Coach. I think your'e seeing glimpses of what separates the greatest from the rest. ps, I need a muppet lesson!
belting video! I hate long lefts, was certainly worth the wait!
Great - loving the graphics and screen shots/info 👌
Love watching these. Great battle!
Loved this,so good to see you back on the course, only need Raymondo now.👍😜
I’ve had no work since March, thankfully I took up golf and started watching your channel!
its the perfect balance of info, opinion and lols! Love these on course videos! Thanks a lot guys
Yeah great video to watch, i prefer these longer videos.
Gonna have so much fun watching this 💪
Fantastic video....really good info amongst the good golf. Thanks for sharing .
I really like this format
The shadow on the tee box at 6.20 makes it look like next generation virtual golf. At least it does viewed on my big TV.
I hate long left. On the very rare occasions I end up there!! But definitely good advice to choose the back of the green yardage. You're going to end up ok far more than ever you'll be long, factoring in mis-strikes and over estimation of how far you hit each club.
One of the best lessons I’ve watched for some time! Definitely challenging my thoughts to stop playing middle and even front yardages. Also shows how good pro’s are at still making scores from poor positions. #army #treelegend
i hate long left! but love the longer vids, good stuff guys!
Good fun was had- course looks in good nick as well
Are coach's wedges still bent flat by a few degrees ? I know strike and practice is needed. I tried mine 2 degrees flatter and I found I did the same as coach often. Probably more a thought or feeling I had because i knew they were bent and i reacted. Just wondering
Where and how did you get to play all alone on this course? Great Video again.
I use Cobra DWS hybrids, old, but i love em
B21, looks actually very good
Always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always had... Love that people are prepared to challenge themselves to be better, if we as humans didn't challenge ourselves we'd still all be living in caves and clubbing the nearest animal for tonight's dinner. Interesting content, really enjoyed it 👍🏼
Nice cap Matt. I have two of those Cally caps, good quality gear
Mark would you get a set of irons similar to yours but with a stiff graphite shaft that is lighter (maybe 80g or somthing) and see what you can measure. Interested to see if it adds to your distance gains with lighter and speed etc same as your driver did.
The great Peter Thompson always said play to the longer yardage based on best strike (so if 135m is your best 9 iron and that's the back of the green, then that's the club). His thought was that mishits would most likely still hit the green.
Mark, which of your drivers - the XXIO or the Launcher HB Turbo - do you feel more confident with? I know the XXIO has the lighter shaft, and you seem to hit it further.
Love this video. Mark and Coach Any thoughts on top tracer ranges for gapping and averages ? Using Arccos but Don’t get to play as much to get my stats updated often. Are the flawed if using range balls or good starting point ??
Very enjoyable boys. Thanks.
Well I just got my ShotScope v3 in the mail today and have it all set up for a round scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. I'll be certain to take the advice to heart and not just rely on distance to the pin. Not sure how to feel yet about collecting the stats. But I work with data and figure this is something I should have done long ago. Actually I started to but was just too lazy about it. This seems a good way for a lazy man to get those numbers. lol
Amazing how you keep ratcheting up the content. Thank you.
I hate long left! But it’s new that I’m pulling that direction
I hate long left.
Even though it shows coaches ability to recover from those predicaments that most would encounter.
Have you and did you use the hazard feature in the watch or past experience to locate distances to clear bunkers and the like?
I’m going to do the same thing I reckon, play for the back distance more than the middle only because I do end up being shorter more often than not.
I hate long lefts, but love course vlogs :)
Mark can you put the yardage from each tee on each tee shot? I like thinking what shot/club I would hit on each of the tees lol
Loving the videos and the Shot Scope data. Maybe time for a Muppet Tour Leaderboard on Shot Scope?
Loving the vlogs with stats thrown in............ better than studio and your back garden....... just saying!
Mark, Why don't you do a video on carrying your golf bag and using a push cart? The effects are actually quite different on your back and posture over time....
Loved the longer video. Was like watching a full tv episode with my tea after work. Thanks as always guys.
Excellent video lads.......
Well done boys !
Just got my Shot Scope wet and it has cropped out! I hope they stand behind their product as my son was wearing his Garmin s10 with no problems or issues.
Nick Price once said the BEST tip he could give his pro-am partners was: TAKE ENOUGH CLUB to get to the BACK of the green. Few, if any, am's fly over greens. They come up short.
Great vid, thanks
Hate that over draw with the irons but if I feel like I'm swinging more left and holding it off it will turn into a slight draw
The over draw is a card wrecker
Great videos at the moment bro 👍🏻⛳
Loving the videos atm. “I hate long left”. Who needs a tv. 😂
Some mind games on the 18th tee I think Mark 😉
