Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This CZcams channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video. - Sport
HIT 👍 if you want more coaching videos
This video is very helpful. Where I seem to have trouble is when the ball is down or up hill. Is there an adjustment needed for these these lies?
Not helpful
@colten how can this posibaly not be helpfull when you reply when the video came out 10 mins after you mentioned this video and the video is 8.30mins long I hate spiteful people who say this
Yes rick.
again with brilliant tips! thanks !
This guy is pure gold!!!
Finally my solution is available - thanks Rick
Literally thinking about why I can’t do this as I clicked on CZcams, what timing!!! Thanks rick, helped so much.
What helped me a little is actually the feeling of putting more weight on my left leg (righty) and barely turning in the backswing and just follow through regularly
It’s because your being tracked my brotha. Say something you wanna eat, within the next 24 hours you’ll see an add correlated with the topic.
Same
Massively the same!! Tried it today... F me, game changer!!
Same haha
Great Video Rick, keep up the good vids
Best tips ive seen to address my problems.
Coaching videos are great 👍. But those challenge videos are are fun as hell.
This for me is the most important tip I’ve ever seen. I’ve been told a million times to keep my head still.
You do keep your head still. You just slide your body for forward a little while you start coming down
Yeah you’re still keeping you head still
And you will keep getting told that until you stop looking up at the shot
the1mexicant looking up at the shot makes you have a longer and more extended follow through keeping your head down too long bunches your neck and you follow through with no extension. 99.9 percent of your pros look up at the ball. Tiger probably does it the most but all of them do it
austi exactly. Tiger was always taught to keep his eye on the ball through the whole shot so he can get the best follow through. Where some golfers make the mistake is lifting the head too early which can cause your body to follow and a bad strike b
Rick thanks a lot your videos are amazing
Good, simple, and understandable. Thanks.
You're a legend Rick
Tip 3 is new! Worked for me!!! Slick Rick did it again! Woohoo
@Rick Shiels Golf I found this video looking through some of your older stuff. This is a great lesson and I appreciate it!
That shoulder tip 👏🏼
Really like your lesson videos better than your challenges with your mates. Great job!!!
Used these tips on the course today and shot my best ever round (12 shots less than usual). Thank you Rick 👍
Enjoy watching the Rick vs Pete match play vlogs and club reviews better
You are the best whoever is resding this
I like the graphics Rick. It helps to reinforce your commentary. Like doubling the message. Cheers!
Seeing the position of that divot in relation to the ball is extremely helpful. I would not have guessed that it should be 2-3 inches in front of the ball. I always thought is should be starting directly under the ball. And I wonder why I hit it fat so often. Something to work on. Thanks Rick.
Great video love you rick
Well I have to say thanks to you Rick I have been watching you videos on how to use a driver and today I used a driver for the first time on a a golf course and I have to say your tuition Videos are wright on the money. Thanks again 👍 now I'm going to try this .
You make it look so simple!!
Heading to the range tomorrow to try this out!
Phenomenal and so informative. Thanks Rick!
I found it !!!
After watching for the 3rd time this week it clicked.
It is rotating trail shoulder pass the ball BEFORE the strike that proved the lesson. Half an hour of practice on mat already showing improvements. But i can only do it at lower speed maybe at 60 or 70 percent. faster swing feel a very flatened shoulder plane.
Keep practice and THANK YOU.
Mu cho gracia señor.
Thanks Rick. Tip 2 and 3 great for my. greetings from the Netherlands.
Thank you Rick. Simply put but not as easy fir us amateurs. But it gives us points of reference to focus on at the range to achieve this ultimate strike.
Litterly on the coarse about to shoot an 88 and this video comes on and it saves my round
Really like how added the component of the shoulder into this video. I feel like that has been my issue. Thanks Rick! Cheers!
All your videos are so helpful!
Can’t wait to try these tips!
You always make me want to play golf
Thx. I needed that refresher
Great video Rick, very easy to understand and something I will definitely put into action
This is such a great tip for beginners. For the longest time I thought you were supposed to have a divet before the ball.
Avengers: The Investing Initiative don’t be a jerk??? He was wrong, now he’s not. No need to put down a beginner for doing something wrong.
@Avengers: The Investing Initiative Because to hit the middle of the club your head may have to be in dirt so you can lift the ball more. Lol the hell dude foh
Great teaching. Thanks
Some great pointers, Thanks!
Great video Rick!
You make it seem so easy !!!
Another fantastic video as this is really make me visualize things better.
Your tips for using the 8 iron for chipping worked great today for me, made a 30 ft, chip in!
Rick what a great lesson many thanks.
Thanks Rick I have been struggling with injuries. I played once last year. I am a little better now and I have been going to the range. I was a 6 before the injuries. The range has mats but none the less I can feel the club hitting behind the ball a little bit, every 3rd swing. These tips are what I need. I am going to use the tee drill in the backyard right now. Cheers from Canada. By the way you should visit Canada. Play at Banff which is part of the Rockies. A number of great courses in the interior of BC. You could finish off in my hometown and area, which is Victoria on Vancouver Island, the furthest South West point in the country. I could help organize
Buenísimo. Sencillo, claro y directo. Me gustan tus videos.
Un abrazo desde Asturias, norte de España.

Great vid Rick!
Helped me a lot.
Ok…this is the best video on taking a divot I’ve found in over 2 years!
Nice straight shots..
Simple and easy to understand......Thank you.
Great advice Rick. As I have gotten older I have had the problem of hitting the ground first. Oh boy. After my course reopens I will use your tips to improve (a former 2.43 handicap index who is now a 13).
I remember just starting out in golf, I was always told the way to effectively hit a golf ball, was ball first, grass after. Never could do it until really focusing on videos like this, now taking a divot every time, and distance of the ball comes flying off the face! Unbelievable and absolutely incredible feeling it is!!! Thanks coach!
Top advice as always 👍🏼👍🏼

You make it so easy to learn how to play consistent, quality golf as an amateur. In a couple months I’ve gone from hitting in the low 100s to hitting 89 on par 72 twice in a row last week.
Great video! Thank you for the tips.

Nice Video, good explanation!!!!
Boom!! Finally I can hit the ball properly and not behind it like I have been! Lining the ball up with my sternum has been the best tip for me. I just had my best EVER session. I've never hit them so sweetly. Thanks for the videos, tips and podcasts. Enjoying them all. Much appreciated, Brian S from Sydney.
