- A full tour of the Meliá Salinas hotel in Lanzarote with our review at the end, we also run through all of the restrictions that were in place at the time due to COVID. We stayed in a deluxe sea view room and were all inclusive.

Great review, its really useful to have such an honest set of comments. I can’t think of anything you might have missed. My wife an i will be staying in this hotel in just over three weeks so you have given so much information, i always try to research where we are going to avoid surprises.
We are in the cheapest Level room so it will be slightly different and are booked through Jet2. I agree you should have had a rep on site, that’s not good. The comment you make about children reflects similar situations we have came across, it might be the case for our booking but different Countries are treat differently, another thing to consider is that School Holdays are not the same everywhere.
I have found this review both refreshing and Honest, i hope you had a great anniversary although you have had another one since, all the very best and once again thank you.
Kevin
Thank you so much, that's a really kind comment! I hope you have a lovely time there, I'm sure the level will be great! I'm sorry you've came across similar situation with children, I'm sure there wont be that issue in the level area. Thank you again!
Hello. I have heard there is some construction going on next door and I was wondering if you had/saw any disruption? Of you saw any construction, which side was it on? Thanks 👍
Hey! So I don't think there was any construction going on when I was there, or if there was, I didn't see/hear any of it. If it is next door, I think it must be on one side of the hotel (because on the other side there are tennis courts), so if you're worried about it, I'd pay the extra for a sea view room and request a room at the front of the hotel, or request a pool view room, because they are the very central or the side of the tennis courts!
Great review - can I ask what drink is included in the All Inclusive option? Can you get cocktails and beer? Thanks
All drinks were included apart from premium spirits ☺️
Me and hubby were supposed to go to this hotel last year but we had it cancelled due to COVID. Can I ask what documentation do you need to show at the airport and hotel on arrival ?
Hey, it was the Spanish form you have to fill in when going into the country, proof of a negative test and our passports!
Hi I am a new subscriber and watching this because I miss travelling so much!! Your bad points don't sound picky, we have booked our first 5 star hotel for our 10 year anniversary and if anything isn't perfect ill be miffed haha. TUI doesn't seem to have reps at all its hotels know which I HATE. Urgh I would hate if there was a child, we always pay extra for adults only so that would annoy us very much!! I hate it when people are smoking too. We would definitely get along :P
Hey! Thank you so much for subscribing 🥺 and it definitely sounds like we would get along! 😂 so glad someone agrees with the bad points with me. Thank you so much for commenting!!
Excellent. You explained it all lovely Thanks. We’re booked for Feb 2022 in the level.
Enjoyed your review, thinking of booking this hotel, what are the drinks like on AI? We love cocktails etc,
I noticed you called it bread and "cobs" 😂😂 I'm guessing you might be from Derbyshire
Thanks! And they’re really good, not a huge amount but I’m pretty sure you could ask for any cocktail and theyll do it if they know it.
And not sure where I said that because I’m not even sure what that is 😅 I’m from Northumberland!
@@sarahlwalden thanks for your reply, just the wind that's putting us of now as we love to sunbath etc, was it possible to be shielded from the wind around the pool?
Sorry must have mis heard you, a cob is a bread roll 😂 always a big debate depending where in the UK your from 😂 will determine what you call it 😂
Would you stop at the hotel again?
It was very windy, there wasn’t much shielding from it apart from inside. I’d say if you want to avoid wind, avoid Lanzarote, everyone we talked to after said it was incredibly windy when they were there too. And we probably would stay again, but not if we were going for an all out luxury stay ☺️
Many many thanks, vital piece of information is that one needs app for everything (I dont use smartphones, I am old) and screaming children are allowed.
Is it hot in December ???
Is the buffet different to the restaurants because I’ve heard there is a dress code for the restaurants?
I think in terms of food places, there is the main buffet, which I show on here, then there is the 1 a la carte restaurant. We didn't actually go to the a la carte, but there were clips on the TV in the room about it. The only form of dress code I saw was that you weren't allowed to go in in swimwear etc. The main buffet was very relaxed. I got a little bit dressed up and definitely felt a little out of place, so very chilled!
We're so grateful for your video.
We have looked at this hotel via TUI and we had decided to visit it in December, but when we see your video we will DEFINITELY not be on holiday there.
I’m so glad it was useful!
I watched your video and listened to it carefully. Next month I'm moving to Lanzarote and I'm going to be a new member of the staff at the reception of this resort. If you have any other suggestions or complaints feel free to tell me. I'll write them down and I'll report them to the front desk manager. Have a nice day
Thank you so much, and thank you for watching! And best of luck for the move and with the job, I imagine it's a great place to work!
Hi,
Thanks for the review, might I ask if it’s windy every day?
Thank you.
Yeah, it was windy every day when we were there and I’ve been told by friends and family it’s always windy 😅
@@sarahlwalden thanks so much. That is a big turn off for me. We went to Tenerife and at 25-26C windy every day it was very chilly in the eve and I want some heat, esp since we didn’t have a proper summer in UK. Our holiday in Jamaica was cancelled today 2 days prior to flying and we have to book something else today :(
No problem, it definitely makes it cooler and there were things like the umbrellas flying away and not being able to play cards etc. that was a bit annoying. I hope you find somewhere amazing to make up for you losing your holiday! 💕
@@sarahlwalden thanks so much. Good to know. It was the second holiday cancelled in 2 weeks (Mexico first) so I had a good cry today and need to move on.
Is it better than Secrets ?
I've not stayed there so I'm not sure!
Why would you be wearing masks in your own room?!?!?! I've been to this hotel (upgraded to reserve), and it's great.
